  1.
  2. [19:46] Astelle stood back up and slowly rose her palm up, causing a stream of water to dance around the area in front of her.
  3.
  4. "I wish it was easier for me to be this calm. But only fighting and looking at certain things can do it."
  5.
  6. She lost herself in thought while manipulating the water, milking this momentary calm she felt for all it's worth. Just how could she remain calm? She didn't really know.
  7.
  8. Maybe the kind of magic she used had something to do about it.
  9.
  10. "Any ideas?"
  11. (Astelle Nora)
  12. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  13.
  14. [19:57] Agni was being tossed surprises left and right by Astelle. This was an entirely different side of her that was tapped into, it seemed, and not just what he initially thought might be a one-time, or seldom occurrence.
  15.
  16. Shaking his head, he plants his hands into the ground, sand sifting between his digits as he lifts himself to his feet next to her. "Well, possibly but--I hope you don't feel like it's something you have to do. Maybe I've lost it, because it's definitely not my thing usually, but I like you the way you usually are the best."
  17.
  18. Coughing to segue and evade the embarrassment that crept into him from his own words, he glanced to the side. "Ahem--anyway, I could see how it'd be useful to have control of, still. You mentioned fighting... well, fighting involves using your mana. Perhaps you should focus on developing your magic even further. Maybe you'll develop a spell or a type of magic derivative of your water magic that'll put you in a calm state from your own will. There's also these--"
  19.
  20. He cut himself off to lift a somewhat sandy palm and plop it right down on top of Astelle's head, patting it again.
  21. (Agnimazud Ishwaratu)
  22. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  23.
  24. [20:06] The sandy headpat caused an expression of very mild annoyance to make its way onto her, but it quickly gave way to the same response she did prior- melting. However, she quickly stood back up, once more forming the circle of water.
  25.
  26. "I know. But it'd be nice to have an off switch sometimes. And besides, it'd give me a SPOOKY MODE if I ever had to fight!!!! And people would take that SUPER SERIOUSLY! Even you seemed a bit spooked out by how serious and calm I get!!! I can only IMAGINE what people I'd FIGHT would think!"
  27.
  28. There's the Astelle we know.
  29.
  30. "I think I have an idea though...! What you said about making a derivative, I mean!"
  31. (Astelle Nora)
  32. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  33.
  34. [20:24] Agni actually smiled when her voice rose in volume and pep. Indeed, that was the girl he met. He couldn't even feign annoyance at it anymore--especially after being thrown for a loop just seconds ago. "What's your idea? Hmm--does it have something to do with the moon?"
  35.
  36. There was a very faint smile on his face while his eyes observed her manipulating water to her whim. He opted to keep his hand on top of her head, with fingers idly running through blue strands of hair, and his palm lifting to pat again every now and then.
  37. (Agnimazud Ishwaratu)
  38. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  39.
  40. [20:36] Astelle had no idea what she was doing. But it may very well be because of this fact that she could make it work.
  41.
  42. "No. I'm gonna make the water go still."
  43.
  44. Water almost always moved, by however small of an amount it may be. Be it via the tides, flowing through rivers, or even descending from the skies, water was hopelessly bound to the natural ebb and flow of the area around it. There was one exception to this, though, where water could no longer move on its own. Astelle relaxed herself as much as she could, and as she did, the circle of water before her began to grow more and more still by the moment, until the slightest of chills could be felt coming from it.
  45.
  46. But it was only the slightest, and lasted for a few moments before the water went back to moving as normal, harmlessly dispersing onto the sand below.
  47.
  48. "...Something like that, except it actually works!"
  49.
  50. Except it actually works
  51.
  52. Astelle hadno idea what she was actually doing, but as she was a heavily symbolic caster, intuition was all that needed to guide her.
  53.
  54. "I calm down when it's cold, so I'm gonna try to make it so that I can make things cold."
  55. (Astelle Nora)
  56. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  57.
  58. [20:47] Agnimazud actually had great interest in this once she started her display of sorts. Astelle was gifted with magic, that much was made evident from their first encounter. He was curious to see if she'd be able to delve further into the water magic she was already proficient with and come up with something different--or perhaps even just out of the ordinary.
  59.
  60. The caressing of his fingers came to a pause when she began to control the very flow of the water... not because it was overly impressive or anything, but because it clicked with him immediately. A derivative of water magic... the slow stop of the water's waves, and the chill that radiated all but confirmed what sparked into his mind.
  61.
  62. Even with Astelle's awful explanation at what she was getting at, Agni started speaking. His voice was as low as ever, and nigh monotone still, but with the way the words left his mouth more quickly than usual indicated he was actually excited. "I get it. It all makes sense..."
  63.
  64. "Ice."
  65.
  66. With his initial pensiveness fading, his idle petting of her head resumed, and he continued speaking. "There's water magic, so ice magic seems like a natural extension. That, and the cold does have a tendency to slow movement in general. Cold can slow the decay of things if they're stored in it. It brings water to a halt in the form of ice. All in all, a perfect means of being able to slow yourself down and compose. Be... heh, cool and collected."
  67.
  68. A wide grin took to his visage. "Sounds like something for us to train you toward."
  69. (Agnimazud Ishwaratu)
  70. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  71.
  72. [20:53] Astelle happily nodded in response. She was excited that she finally found her element, and something for her to work towards! Really, really excited, actually, to the extent where she...
  73.
  74. Began to vibrate in place.
  75.
  76. "YESSS! I'm so happy this is so cool we finally have something to do I'm gonna learn something so cool and strong and oh that wasn't a pun none of this is but it makes sense so I'll say it was one and and and and-"
  77.
  78. She just kept going on...
  79.
  80. And on...
  81.
  82. and on.
  83.
  84. As usual.
  85. (Astelle Nora)
  86. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  87.
  88. [20:59] Agni's eyes widened that she was literally vibrating. He thought he knew the extent of her excitement, but this was just... something else. "Okay--woah, you're at like a twenty this time. That's just way too much--"
  89.
  90. The Drakanite boy shifts to a position directly behind Astelle, moving his hands to try and firmly grip her by her hips. "--Chill."
  91.
  92. Snrk.
  93.
  94. That was definitely intentional.
  95. (Agnimazud Ishwaratu)
  96. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  97.
  98. [21:03] When her hips were grabbed, Astelle completely froze up, but her same hyperactive smile was still on her face. She didn't freeze up in anxiety or anything, she actually appeared to be frozen in time from suddenly being grabbed out of her vibrations.
  99.
  100. The pun, naturally, flew straight over her head.
  101. (Astelle Nora)
