Each year, three brothers, Samuel, Jeffrey and Michael Douglas visit their grandfather, Mori Tanaka, for the summer. Mori is highly skilled in ninjutsu, and for years he has trained the boys in his techniques. After an organized crime ring proves to be too much for the F.B.I., it's time for the three ninja brothers! Using their martial artistry, they team up to battle the crime ring and outwit some very persistent kidnappers!
Three young brothers, who have been trained in ninja techniques from an early age, learn that they possess powers which evil crooks would like to control. When a kidnap is attempted, they must defend themselves using all their skills.
It's a really good kids movie. It was one of my favourite kids movie. Brings back memories if you ask me, and it was one of those movies I watched as often as possible because of the entertainment and value it brings. It's especially good if you're into martial arts, so that makes it all the more worthwhile. Don't expect it to be anything special because it's not, and that's not the purpose of the film. Instead, it's just a good and cool movie for the family to see. It remains, one of my childhood favourites.
The unfortunate thing about this film is that it&#39;s for children and for children only.  I didn&#39;t think the film was bad and it&#39;s even funny at times (especially the part with the three pizza delivery-guys alias kidnappers), but it&#39;s very simplistic at times and therefore a typical children&#39;s movie. That explains why it&#39;s not so bad that a film like this lacks character depth and a decent storyline.<br/><br/>This film is only made to entertain children and that is exactly what it does ... although grown-ups might enjoy the humor of it as well.
The director, Jon Turtletaub, completely misses the character-driven appeal of the Karate Kid series, and there's no Macauley Culkin in this cast. The movie is saddled with a junky visual style, haphazard editing and occasional out-of-focus shots. Much of it looks like very bad television, although the toilet jokes and a running gag about laxatives and instant diarrhea may be a little raw for the Disney Channel.
