This tome once belonged to a barbarian chieftain and follower of Gorum who took a scholarly and deliberate approach to warfare. During his final campaign against an army of Iomedean crusaders he often wrote in this journal, expressing admiration for his foes' cunning tactics and steadfast conviction and bringing about a crisis of faith. In what may have been punishment from Gorum for straying too far from his tenets, his final battle saw his army outmaneuvered and him slain by a pinpoint charge. While his soul has long passed on, part of his consciousness lingered on in his trusted journal.
The book can attempt Knowledge(Geography,Local, Nobility and History) and Profession(Soldier) checks with a +15 modifier if they're related to battle tactics or warfare and generally freely shares this information, although it will refuse to cooperate with someone who shows poor leadership or unsound decisions in battle.
* If its orders are properly relayed, it can take command of an army. It counts as a commander with a Leadership score of 14 and its statistics give the army a total bonus of +3 to Morale checks. An army commanded by the Juournal gains the Bloodied but Unbroken and Flexible Tactics boons.
* The Journal can cast the following spells: Guidance at will,  Bless 3/day, Heroism 1/day. It uses them to help a leader or group of allies tip the scales in battle.
