Gella's curiosity at the challenge won out. She bowed to the princess and sank into a fighting stance. Xiri swung first, arcing the staff wide.
Gella diverted, leaping to the side. She felt herself call on the Force to stabilize her jump, but pushed down on the instinct. Landing in a crouch, she swept her leg under Xiri, who leapt back.
"If it isn't magic, then what is it?" the princess asked.
"The Force is everything. The seas of Eiram. The canyons of E'ronoh.
It is the current within me and you, and everything in between. The energy that makes life flow." Gella went on the offensive, and pushed Xiri forward, slapping her batons against the staff in a steady rhythm that carried them across the entire floor, until the princess stumbled off the mat and fell on her backside. "And the one thing I am always certain of is that the Force is with me."
She held out a hand to help the princess stand, and Xiri took it amiably.
