- Name: Gwenllian Bowen
- Age: 29
- Gender: Female
- Magecraft/Abilities: An impossibility compared to normal magicians, where even the finest circuits are almost nothing in comparison. Gwenllian is the pinnacle of an ancient family's research, reflected in having the Factor of the Dragon and the accompanying Mana Core. The process lacks the refinement that a far more skilled magus could lend: though she has all the power and resistance to magecraft, Gwenllian's personality also shares some of the beast's traits.
- With little aptitude for magecraft itself, despite her power, she focuses instead on simple things: boosting her capabilities far beyond what any human can normally achieve through expelling prana, and wielding a blade to deal with the inevitable trouble her abilities attract. Though even as a second-rate magus in terms of thaumaturgical ability, she's still fully trained and versed in the basics--from reinforcement through to establishing bounded fields, only a fool would assume Gwenllian is a brainless fighter.
- Her one magical ability of any importance lies in gems, one ancestor having survived contact with a certain meddlesome vampire mostly sane. Thus, though it is an enormously expensive practice, Gwenllian is quite capable of imbuing gems with prana--an ability she almost exclusively uses as a vessel for creating Mystic Codes that can utilise her power without shattering.
- As the official heir of the family, she has the Magical Crest, and thus has access to more spells than she actually knows... if she could get it to work properly. An incompatibility between her Mana Core and the magic circuits makes trying to cast spells stored within the sort of risky endeavour that could lead to self-immolation.

- Equipment:
- Mystic Code: Reforged Blade: Shards of blue and gold make up roughly half of this Mystic Code, but the rest points at how hideously expensive it must have been to create: reshaped diamond acts as both a lattice to hold the pieces of sword, and a framework to emulate the rest of its missing pieces. Without the prana Gwenllian is able to supply, the blade would collapse with a single strike, but as it is the jewel mimics the qualities of the original sword--and serves as the only weapon she can wield that won't shatter after a few blows. At risk of breaking the fragile containment, she can activate a function similar to the original, and vent vast quantities of prana to try and burn through something--again borrowing on the memory of the original mystery, but supplementing it mostly through power and magecraft.
- Mystic Code: Jewelled Chain A chain formed entirely out of jewel links and attached to a solid piece of wood, it should theoretically be useless. However, only one link is real, the rest is projected starting from the handle and can be controlled in ways that defy logic with little effort. Because it is mostly a fake, the extended links only possess any solidarity due to the power put into them--but the chain's length can be as long as desired if Gwenllian simply forces it.
- Most often, she will sacrifice sheer striking power to trip and entangle opponents with the chain.
- As a magus on the run from the Association, Gwenllian's funds are limited, and even if she were to have substantial money it would evaporate almost as soon as it came into her possession due to investment in jewelry. Still, she has the ability to trick people into thinking she's a legitimate lodger, and this will be more than enough resources--in her opinion-- for this war.
- Personality: On the whole, Gwenllian is quite a humourless thing: over ten years on the run from an Association that would alternately want to experiment on her and use her as nothing more than a tool has not left her with a good disposition. She's a hard worker, though, and remarkably stubborn when presented with a challenge. It doesn't take all that much to get her properly angry, which tends to lead to lashing out in general and quite concerning amounts of destruction. She also keeps hoarding things.
- History: Gwenllian hails from a magus lineage who claim to trace themselves back to Arthurian times. Whether or not the family itself stems from someone of that era, or whether their secondary claim of a master-student chain headed back to Nimue is what they mean, there is certainly a grain of truth--for centuries, their aim had been to replicate the abilities of the king and provide a vast source of mana for obtaining the Root.
- As was inevitable with that sort of timeless dedication, they got closer and closer to success--initially just decreasing the number of circuits whilst increasing potency, but then trying to work in the essence of phantasmal beasts. This often backfired, and more than once the family had to go underground for years whilst the Mage's Association and Church tried to quash their research for such things as 'creating an uncontrolled Dead Apostle' or 'magically powerful chimaera that are liable to cause vast amounts of trouble'.
- Finally, they obtained Gwenllian: someone with exactly the ability that the family had hoped for, though less aptitude for magecraft than desired. She was trained and raised to adulthood, when the Mage's Association got wind of her--and concluded that her abilities, even as poorly trained as they were, were more than enough justification to warrant a sealing designation. Enforcers arrived, and in the end the only person left standing was the girl herself, who gathered up what she could take--such as the components of her sword--and left. Though the enforcers learned to their detriment that common magecraft was useless and they were physically outmatched, the burning building did manage to injure her, albeit not severely.
- Since that time, she's been on the run, scrounging money where she can, especially from physical labour she's more than gifted for, and assisting a few more open-minded magus where her power could be useful in exchange for favours--tutelage or funding. Staying in one place for any serious length of time would be an invitation for death as the Association caught wind and once again tried to capture her, more prepared than before.
- One of her associates told her of the Holy Grail War, and Gwenllian decided to come and join in--not as a Master, but as a person willing to match the Servants on her own, despite the danger. All she needs in the end is one remaining Servant to contract briefly so she can obtain the Grail--and in doing so make a simple wish: a way to remain completely out of the Association's sight no matter what, so she can spend her life doing more than keeping the hell away from them.
- Other: If you haven't guessed what the sword pieces are from, its guaranteeing that she could only summon Arturia ought to tell you what blade it is.
