- 'Sup, doods!
- I have a week off from working this week and that can only mean one thing:
- Time to completely wreck my sleep schedule!
- Yesterday already established how the concept of time slips away from me when I have no structure imposed on me. I had to completely redo a GIF that I use on the tournament broadcasts because it's a graphic that is not so easily extracted from the game. I spent, like, two hours figuring out what I needed to do to use the graphic and then another eight hours to isolate the graphic frame by frame. Even then, I didn't get every single frame of the graphic from the game so it's gonna look choppy on the tournament broadcast, but I don't care. I've got to get everything ready for this weekend ASAP, doods.
- So yeah, the Pokémon Puzzle League annual tournament starts this weekend. I've done my qualifying. It's going to give me a good enough seeding, but I won't know where I end up until the big hitters play in the next couple of days. I think I'll be able to ready up everything in the next couple of days so I can focus on my own things. I wanted to put in alerts this week, but I'm having trouble working the logistics of how the alert should look on my chatting scene and my gaming scene as they are currently incompatible with each other in their structure. I might have to make it in two parts. If you were around when I talked about how I wanted to the sub alert to look, you might have a clue into how I need to make the alert look right on stream. Hopefully I can give myself some time tomorrow to figure it out, doods.
- Now if you'll excuse me, my body cannot sleep in natural sunlight and only allowed five hours of sleep last night so I need to struggle for a bit to get in the state of mind to ready things for the tournament, dood.
- Today's (permanent) extra streaming goals (this won't be going down for a while, will it):
- Goal #2: edit personal best videos in Tetris Attack Easy – V-Hard (post commentary recorded) and Normal (post commentary recorded)—and everything I did in Pokemon Puzzle Week.
- Goal #5b: finalize the tournament layout once and for all in a way that I can adapt for the Pokemon Puzzle League tournament and every other game we might play. I might need Thanksgiving to start doing this.
- Goal #6a: clean up my own stream layout. Most of the framework necessary for a semi-proper stream is done now thanks to streaming the process, though I'm not currently motivated to stream any other part of it at the moment. Next major objective is to make alerts. I have stream reaction clips to put in. Emotes, one or two alternate overlay themes, and alternate timer themes would come soon after. As soon as I think of things to put in, I will add them to the list.
- Goal #6b: catch up on video archives that I have yet to upload since I restarted streaming. I may put them on a separate channel.
- Goal #7: script and record footage for my Puzzle League tutorial series. I have some scripts left to touch up before feeling comfortable with moving on to recording gameplay. Then I will need to record my talking points and edit it all together. Getting back to this will be easier once the workflow for the monthly tournaments is finalized.
- Goal #8: release the Puzzle League tutorial series YouTube shorts once a day until they're all done. I really do think I need to time the release of the series with a ramping up of my streaming schedule so that I can take advantage of whatever there is to gain from releasing the shorts.
- This week's schedule:
- Tuesday @8pm – 9:30pm ET – The Quest for 16:XX (Pokémon Puzzle League S-Hard PB Attempts)
- Wednesday @8pm – 9:30pm ET – The Quest for 16:XX
- Thursday @8pm – 9:30pm ET – The Quest for 16:XX
- Friday @8pm – 10:30pm ET – Friday Night Salt Mines: Taking it Easy For Tournament Time Edition, Doods!
- Saturday @2pm ET – Hosting PPL Tournament at PuzzleSpeedrun, Dood!
- Sunday @2pm ET – Hosting PPL Tournament at PuzzleSpeedrun, Dood!
- That’s my life story for the week. Until next time, everyone, be decent to each other. Later, doods!
