  1. DAY 1, AFTERNOON
  2. And so that D16 brings a fairly tame opening session at Lakeside with two seeds exiting, but the biggest was in the women's competition as Lisa Ashton's hopes of a fifth title in sixth years were ended by Japanese debutant Mikuru Suzuki.
  3.
  4. The Lancashire Rose was nowhere near her dominating best and it showed as she got nowhere near Miracle in the first leg and having missed D18 for a 156, binned 7 more leg darts to go 2-0 down. Although Ashton pulled it back to 2-2, Suzuki punished her with an 18 dart leg to take the first set. The Englishwoman missed 4 to hold throw at the start of set 2 and despite hitting 101 to take the lead in the set, couldn't hold on to that lead and missed another 4 darts to lose in the tournament for the first time since 2016 and end an 8 game unbeaten run.
  5.
  6. Mark McGeeney was tested in the opening match of the tournament by Derk Telnekes, but eventually broke free of the Dutch youngster to go through 3-1. Telnekes whipped in a 145 in the opening leg (albeit nobody but the players and ref saw it due to a camera fuckup)

  10. DAY 1, EVENING
  11. And that D9 ends the first day of BDO Worlds action with a relatively decent game to close the night as Wesley Harms won a first round game for the first time in 3 years to prolong Tony O'Shea's own first round losing streak.

  15. DAY 2, AFTERNOON
  16. And so that D16 brings an exciting end to a rather underpar session that saw the 19th sudden death leg in Lakeside history as well as yet another terrible performance on the big stage from eternal World Championship bottlejob Deta Hedman.

  19.
  20. DAY 2, EVENING
  21. And so that D18 ends a complete session of walkovers which saw the highest average by far recorded in both the men's and women's tournaments.

  25. THE FINAL
  26. So that D16 brings to an end a Lakeside final that, once it reached the halfway stage, was another walk-over for Glen Durrant as he completely outplayed Scott Waites. However, the final will be less remembered for the actual game and more the aftermath as Duzza brutally destroyed the BDO's image.
  27.
  28. It was Scotty 2 Hotty who won the throw in the back room but immediately lost it, blowing 2 darts at D12 as Durrant pinned 83 on the bull and took the set in 4 legs. He couldn't hold the throw though as despite a 131 outshot, Waites surged back to level the game in 4. A 128 on the bull started set 3 for Scott but he didn't win another leg as Glen went ahead again, averaging 107 in the set. But the Boro boy had trouble on D8 and D16 and it showed as he binned darts to take the first and last legs of set 4 for yet another level game. The West Yorkshireman took the lead for the first time as set 5 went all the way, with a 104 out the highlight. The North Yorkshireman clawed it back though, with a perfectly timed last dart D4 in a dreadfully scrappy set 6 for 3-3 at the mid-match interval.
  29.
  30. At this point, Duzza upped his level. Although Scotty slammed in 160 for the opening leg of set 7, Durrant rattled off the next 3 legs in 43 darts for 4-3 and then looked to gain a 2 set advantage. Even though he somehow had darts to win the second leg when he was miles behind Waites in set 8, he didn't get it but a key D8 for 70 in leg 4 sent him 5-3 ahead. A 106 in set 9 for the reigning champ followed by a stunning 325 in 7 in the deciding leg put him one away from the hat-trick. 6-4 looked on as Scott went 2-0 up, but a perfectly timed 114 from Glen completely broke his opponent's spirit and he won the next 2 to take the title. The post-match interview then saw Glen admit that his 3-in-a-row wasn't the same as Eric Bristow's because he didn't play the best in the world. Ouch indeed.
