  1. Hi there,
  2.
  3. Unfortunately there is no way of removing your parents ID from your account. Unfortunately this is the path of least resistance. I know that it is inconvenient, however this is to ensure that you don’t run into any problems in the future with the platform.
  4.
  5. We are aware of these inconveniences, and are working our hardest to ensure that our platform works better and has less friction in the future. We have gone through a lot of changes in the last year and are committed to ensuring customer satisfaction going forward.
  6.
  7. I am sorry about this, however the changes we made were to ensure the future of a safe, decentralized, open financial system.
  8.
  9. Please respond to this email with any issues you encounter during the process of closing and reopening your account.
  10.
  11. Regards
  12. Bill

  14. How satisfied were you with the quality of service we provided today?

  20. There is a good reason that multiple IDs are verified on this account. At first, your company only required 13 years of age. The company policy changed to 18, or 13 with parental consent. My mother, Lydia Pena Simone, whose ID us verified on my account, signed and submitted a parental consent form. Support told me that for her consent form to be accepted, I would need to add her ID to my account. After I did this, company policy changed to remove the "13 with parental consent" clause from the terms of service. There was no way to remove her name from the account, so I waited. Now that I've waited for 6 goddamn months, you say I've got to close my account. Look at the messages in this chain. I've done only what coinbase support told me to do. I've had this account with your company for the last 5 years. This is bullshit. Is there any way for support to remove her ID from my account? If I feel like if I follow your instructions like last time, I'm going to get fucking criminal charges levied against me. Can you gaurantee me that if I follow your directions, I will be able to trade coin again, like I was last able to in April of 2017?

  23. Hi there,
  24.
  25. I apologize for the inconvenience, and happy birthday!
  26.
  27. I definitely want to help you get set up with Coinbase. However unfortunately due to this profile having IDs from multiple individuals I will have to ask you to close this account and reopen a new account with only your personal details. I know that this is troublesome to go through, we are always working on bettering the experience for our customers.
  28.
  29. To complete this process, login to the account you want to close and visit your “Security Settings” page: https://www.coinbase.com/settings/security_settings . Scroll to the bottom of the page and use the “Close Account” button. (Accounts must have a zero balance before they can be closed.
  30.
  31. For additional assistance with the closure process, please see: https://support.coinbase.com/customer/portal/articles/2063066
  32.
  33. Once completed sign up for a new account, add some verification documents and reach back out to me. I will take care of the underage issue.
  34.
  35. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
  36.
  37. Respectfully,
  38. Coinbase Compliance

  83. Hello, and thank you for contacting us!
  84.
  85. It looks like you may be under the age of 18 and looking to open a Coinbase account, or regain access to an account. Unfortunately, we are no longer able to support customers under the age of 18.
  86.
  87. Until you can provide proof that you’re 18 or older, it will not be possible to open a Coinbase account — or, if you have one already, your current account will not be available for any purpose other than withdrawing your current balance.

  94. Please let me know if this didn’t answer your question and I’ll be happy to help.

  102. Hello and thank you for contacting us.
  103.
  104. Our records indicate that you may be writing in to us asking about a cancelled order or the inability to buy digital currency using our platform.
  105.
  106. Cancellations and account restrictions are applied by our automated software, and sometimes in error. If your account or an order you placed has been negatively affected by this, we sincerely apologize.
  107.
  108. We definitely want our good customers to be able to buy digital currency with us easily. If you feel that a cancelled order or account restriction was made in error, or you have another issue that needs to be addressed, please reply to this email letting us know.
  109.
  110. Also, please take a moment to ensure that you have verified your ID with us. You can double-check this by navigating to https://www.coinbase.com/verifications/documents/new and checking to see if your ID document is on file with this. Please note that we may not be able to review your case until that document has been uploaded.
  111.
  112. Thanks for your understanding as we continue to grow and improve our services.

  117. To Whom it May Concern,
  118.
  119. I joined coinbase as a minor with parental consent before July 25th, but new age restriction guidelines https://support.coinbase.com/customer/en/portal/articles/2034490
  120. require that I close my account. However, as a minor, I cannot sell my Bitcoin and close my account. Can an exception be made for the purpose of selling my crypto?
  121. Alternate question, I am 17 & 1/2. If I may be allowed to keep my account until Feb 3, 2018, I will be fully eligible to use your services. What shall I do?
