Brief Description: In the year 1970, South Africa underwent a giant spike political instability after South African President Cyril Ramaphosa failed to deliver campaign promises of better policies, most specifically, energy. Leading to this instability, many cities in South Africa, including their capital Pretoria, now Kangala, went through energy shortages, forcing the populace to depend on primitive lighting and tools. To make matters worse, Eskom, who provides energy for the majority of the country, went into a spiraling decline and soon became defunct, leading to power plants, both functional and nonfunctional, to cease operation. As a consequence of the economic crisis and now escalating energy disaster, the country underwent an agrarian collapse as a result of the Presidents new anti-white farmer policy, in which he began a forceful deportation of whites, resulting in rising tensions, and a political insurrection against the President. A previously extinguished insurgency named uMkhonto we Sizwe, Spear of the nation, reestablished and was backed by the majority of the population and the military. They demanded that President Cyril Ramaphosa step down immediately, and instated a new President, Jaco De Jager, a previous employee at Elon Musk’s Tesla. He quickly established wide reforms across the nation and brought new energy policies, along with construction of several Tesla funded Gigafactory’s, quickly ending the energy crisis. The insurgent group then rejoined with the South African National Defense Force and became the Kangala National Defense Force. The nation now has aspirations to make humanity interplanetary and establishing world peace. SpaceX is now considered an independent space agency based out of Kangala, and occasionally receives stipends from the government. The nation is one of the first to be dependent on clean, renewable energy, using no nuclear power plants or coal.
