They were only kids at the time, but they fell right into the Kingdom's plans. It was a dirty trick, but they knew, if he loved her, his loyalty would never be questioned and he'd always protect her.

When Marluxia was adopted into the royal family, she was often teased and picked on. Whether is was about the colour of her skin, or her markings, or the simple fact that she was adopted; Gladiolus was always there for her.

That is, until they were separated. Marluxia was only 10 at the time, but how she cried and screamed for him. He was to be shipped off to a neighboring Kingdom, to server under another crown. That was the day she got her first life lesson.



Fifteen years passed, before they would ever see each other again. In that time, Marluxia matured into a beautiful young woman, who was well respected and loved by her people. However, she had given up her life of royalty behind, soon after her grandmother was assassinated. Marluxia set out to the real world, leaving her parents, her siblings, and her people behind. She joined The Black Lotus, a clan of shinobis working towards a better future. She learned to fight. She learned to protect herself and others around her.

Three years into her training, she was attacked for the sword she carried. It's name was Izanami, and possessed a very dangerous ability. Those killed by it, would have their soul trapped within it. Forever lost. She lost her Master that day. Her throat was slit, which would render her mute. It was the day she taught herself to never let anyone close to her again; for they all died or disappeared. It was the day she closed her heart off to the world.
