- Drying after their bath, Loki offers to braid Gwyndolin's hair again, if Gwyndolin will allow him the pleasure; and if Gwyndolin does, he'll follow Gwyndolin's direction to braid it as he wants it for dinner before going to dress. His husband is free to ogle his naked butt and... other parts... as much as he wishes, as Loki dithers about what to wear, eventually settling on a tunic of overlapping layers and gold accents and a tight-fitting trousers with braided designs up the sides of the legs, leaving himself bare-headed except for a jeweled clip in the shape of a knotted golden snake keeping his hair back from his face. He might have picked it out because (gestures to gwyndolin), and he expects only Gwyndolin and his mother might notice it, but it made him smile.
- Potente Byrd MæmesToday at 6:19 PM
- Gwyndolin happily lets Loki braid his hair, albeit this time with some direction, preferring his typical look with his hair draping gently over his ears and swooped to the back where his braid starts, dangling down to his rear. And then while Loki goes to dress, Gwyndolin chooses not to ogle (and pretending to not be tempted) and instead dresses as well. He only calls for Loki's help once, to help him tie up the back of a fresh brassier, and then rest he does himself. Loki has no idea what Gwyndolin's usual attire is like, but that's what Gwyndolin has chosen, elegant, sharp lines, fine white, brocade silks making up his blouse and skirts and draping shawls, dripping with gold, and fastened around the waist with a golden belt, and a pair of elbow-length gloves that almost reach to the puffy sleeves of his blouse.
- Once fully dressed, Gwyndolin approaches his neatly, if erratically piled belongings that still haven't found a place in Loki's room, singling out a large golden... thing that sits upon a silken pillow. Loki has likely noticed it at least once- it's solid gold and large and covered in spikes! Kinda difficult to NOT notice. But it's quite possible he mistook it for some random decorative thing, perhaps some extravagant royal tchotchke. So he may be surprised when Gwyndolin lifts it up, lets the veil dangling from the back end fall over the back of his hair... and lowers it onto his head, covering his eyes and the bridge of his nose.
- That is one HELL of a crown!!
- *Now* completely ready, Gwyndolin turns to Loki, looking very much like the God he is, noble and proud. "I am ready."
- itsAlanaToday at 6:25 PM
- Loki turns to smile at his husband--
- Oh, goodness. He blinks, and looks Gwyndolin up and down, and says, "That... that looks heavy. Impressive, though. You look very impressive." He smiles a little wider, and offers his hands to Gwyndolin. "You've certainly made an impression on me." He thinks that it's maybe a little much for a dinner with the in-laws, but, perhaps, perfect for dinner with King Odin and Queen Frigga.
- Potente Byrd MæmesToday at 6:30 PM
- "I suppose, yet I am quite used to it." Gwyndolin says. Apparently the circlet he'd worn for his wedding was just Too Much for him, but this chunk of gold is perfectly fine and comfortable. What selective neck strength he has! He smiles, looking proud of himself, a rare thing. "I am glad thou art impressed. The Dark Sun does have certain appearances to keep up with."
- Gwyndolin is realizing that things are a bit more lax in Asgard, and that this probably is a bit much for dinner with the in-laws... but it isn't just that, for him. It is also dinner with King Odin and Queen Frigga. His first dinner with them after the wedding. It isn't merely Loki he is trying to make an impression on. And, after all, with Gwyndolin's talents, he can always do away with the crown for propriety once he sits down for dinner...
- He gladly takes Loki's hands, laying his lace-covered hands in them- with two fingers bearing rings. One that symbolizes his bond to Loki, and the other... his imprisonment in his own body.
- itsAlanaToday at 6:36 PM
- Loki lifts his hands, and kisses the wedding ring, then turns his hands over, palm-up, to kiss them like that. "Is it the appearance of someone lovely and kissable and who I would like very much to make happy?" he asks, green eyes sparkling, "I believe you have that appearance down pat."
- Potente Byrd MæmesToday at 6:43 PM
- Gwyndolin flushes, and giggles bashfully, turning his face away shyly- his eyes are covered, but it can only be assumed they must be sparkling under all that gold. "Well... yes, I suppose so. That is accurate enough!" He giggles again, and turns his face back to Loki, to lean in and press a little peck to his lips, and being expertly careful not to poke Loki with any spikes. "But also, I hope, as the noble embodiment of the Darkmoon. And perhaps thy father, too, may be impressed...?"
- itsAlanaToday at 6:54 PM
- Loki kisses Gwyndolin back, and then kisses his elegant and truly delightfully excessive golden... mask? Helmet? Crown? All of the above? It's very elegant and dramatic, whatever it is, and Loki feels a sudden urge to wear one of his own golden crowns... but he's already got a snake in his hair. "It is *very* impressive," he confirms, "and makes a very dramatic statement... I hope he will be, but if he's not, I'm sure my mother and brother will be quite admiring of you."
- Potente Byrd MæmesToday at 6:59 PM
- Gwyndolin is hopeful to impress his father-in-law, though he knows from a lifetime of experience to not expect much. "I am coming to the realization that even Asgard's royalty has a different measure of extravagance, and that what is usual for me in Anor Londo would be considered highly formal here. I may start to keep such appearance to more formal affairs, then, when we are not visiting my home." And then he giggles softly. "After all, I would hope to impress thy people as well, and it wouldn't do to desensitize them with over-application..."
- And then he clears his throat, straightening up. "Now, I believe my husband is to escort me to dinner?"
- itsAlanaToday at 7:13 PM
- Loki likes this! He likes that Gwyndolin wants to impress his people, his new family, to be stunning and elegant where people can see-- and where people can see Loki on his arm... Smiling, Loki offers his elbow, and says, "I believe you're correct, my fair husband!"
- And then off they will go, Loki leading the way to a dining room-- not one of the feasting rooms, or even a terribly formal one; one that's small and fairly intimate, with a round table already set under a ceiling too low for either of Gwyndolin's siblings inside a door too narrow for them to pass through. It seems that there will be no sibling interruptions tonight, at least at dinner.
- Thor and Frigga are already seated, and Frigga smiles warmly at her sons as they arrive, beckoning them to join her and Thor. Odin is nowhere to be seen, and Thor looks antsy and slightly guilty, like a dog that's been yelled at and now has to wait for dinner.
- Potente Byrd MæmesToday at 7:18 PM
- With a pleasantly dignified smile, Gwyndolin happily takes Loki's offered arm, and allows himself to be led off to dinner. He isn't sure what to expect- his first meal here was the massive reception, and his second was a late brunch in a little parlor. What he gets is an almost intimate dining room set for the royal family... and, apparently, only the local royal family. Gwyndolin is certain only he and possibly his father could fit in here, and it's then that it hits him that he is going to be the only one from Anor Londo at this dinner.
- That apparently unnerves him, and he hesitates for the slightest moment as he and Loki walk in together, going a bit stiff- and staying a little stiff as he moves again, going with Loki over towards the beckoning Frigga. "Good evening, Frigga," He greets politely, before daring to ask, mostly because Odin isn't here (yet) and he trusts Frigga, "I did not realize my family would not be joining us for dinner?"
- itsAlanaToday at 7:25 PM
- Frigga's smile tightens a smidge, and she says, voice sweet and motherly and steel in her eyes, "Neither did I. I suppose we'll just have to arrange to have breakfast with them in the morning-- I was so looking forward to meeting your sister, dear Gwyndolin."
- Loki says, softly, "Ah...?" as he pulls out a chair for Gwyndolin, making sure his husband is settled before sitting beside him; he and Thor will be on either side of Odin, and Gwyndolin and Thor on either side of Frigga, Gwyndolin surrounded by those who know his secret. "Yes, that sounds like a splendid plan," he says, and glances at his father's empty chair. "I think you'll quite like Gwynfor, as well, mother."
- "He seems a jolly fellow," Thor offers, though his eyes are on a cooling roast. "I think we'll have a great deal of fun fighting side by side, eh?"
- Potente Byrd MæmesToday at 7:29 PM
- Gwyndolin's lips tightening slightly is the only indication that he has apparently caught on to Frigga's own displeasure about the turn of events, which servers to make Gwyndolin more anxious. But he quietly takes his seat without asking further question or making a scene, smiling politely at his helpful husband.
- He glances to Thor as the conversation turns more positively towards his family, and he smiles. "He has spoken a bit highly of thee as well, Thor." He says, feeling more patient with Thor now that he is quite obviously scolded towards better behavior, and willing to give him another chance. "He told me just this morning that he finds thee quite delightful. I look forward to seeing my brother and my brother-in-law getting along further as time moves on."
- itsAlanaToday at 7:46 PM
- "Well! If all my sons like him, surely he must be exceedingly charming," Frigga says, with a warm smile at Gwyndolin-- and Thor's not likely to notice that she said "all", not "both", but Loki does, and he flashes a pleased smile at his mother. "Surely the war talks can be delayed a few hours, while we all spend time together, don't you think?"
- Thor is looking a bit less glum, sitting taller and a truly beautiful smile spreading across his face. "I don't suppose we can have beer at breakfast, mother?" he asks, "I'd quite like to challenge Gwynfor to a drinking contest."
- While Frigga is laughing and telling Thor she'd say yes, but Gwynfor's liver is surely more robust than even his, Odin appears in the doorway, quietly, and regards them all; then, passing behind Gwyndolin and Loki, he finds his seat.
- "Father," Loki and Thor chorus, Loki looking a little startled-- he'd been, perhaps, looking fondly at Gwyndolin and his mother-- and Frigga smiles at Odin, and greets him, "Hello, king husband."
- sorry i took so long i was makin... snak
- Potente Byrd MæmesToday at 7:52 PM
- Gwyndolin notices too, and his blush is just barely visible under the rim of his massive crown. He gives a soft, polite little laugh at Thor's request, chiming in that Gwynfor is also much larger, and the flagons he drinks mead from much larger than any Asgardian one, though Thor is welcome to make the attempt...
- But then Odin makes his appearance, quiet and almost unannounced, until his sons take notice. Gwyndolin straightens up more, looking as regal as he can, regarding Odin in return. "My greetings, King Odin." Gwyndolin greets last, polite as anything, as unlike with Frigga, he has yet to be told to be anything but the utmost respectful towards his father-in-law. "'Tis a pleasure to finally meet thee properly."
- itsAlanaToday at 8:03 PM
- Odin looks at Gwyndolin for a moment, an unreadable look in his one eye, his shining eyepatch refusing to give the impression he sees any less than everything; then he greets in return, "Princess Gwyndolin. Welcome to the House of Odin, child." Then he looks around at his family, and says, "Come on, now, there's no need to let the roast get any cooler."
- There's a sudden flurry of activity, Thor standing to carve the roast, Frigga claiming a basket of bread and passing it around the table, Loki reaching for a tureen and lifting the lid to find something that looks delicious, and Odin quiet and observing, giving the impression he's at the head of the table despite it being a circle.
- "I think you might like this, Gwyndolin," Loki murmurs, and serves his husband a spoonful of wild rice, still hot, studded with chopped nuts and bright cubes of something orange, drizzled with something brown and sweet-smelling. "It's rice with sweet potatoes and pecans," he explains, softly, "and a cinnamon bourbon sauce..." He also picks out a hunk of bread, swirled white and tan and shiny-crusted, and says, "And spiced bread, to soak up any sauce left." Everyone seems to be using their hands a great deal, though there are utensils set out at each place and serving spoons arrayed with the food.
- Potente Byrd MæmesToday at 8:11 PM
- Gwyndolin is suddenly faced with a new reality- the kind of what it must be like for someone who was not raised by his own father to be met with him and his judgement for the first time. Odin is distressingly like Gwyn, and yet still a complete stranger, and he quickly finds it disconcerting, nervewracking. He holds his breath imperceptibly in that brief moment of regard, before Odin seemingly passes his judgement, and officially welcomes his new 'daughter'-in-law. Gwyndolin nods quietly with a polite smile, letting out his breath at last, before the family finally activates for dinner.
- Gwyndolin himself mostly watches, unused to Asgardian meals, but Loki is happy to introduce him, helping him pick out foods to try, suggesting things that look delectable. Reading the room, Gwyndolin lifts his hands up to his head and, as if folding something, simply vanishes his massive crown from his head entirely. Then he sets about *very briefly* removing his wings, to displace his gloves and bare his hands, before returning his rings to his fingers, so that he may try to not be messy nor other himself too much.
- "It all looks quite delicious." He compliments quietly at Loki, "Might I have a bit of the roast as well...? Just a small slice, if thou wouldst, husband..."
- He is quite aware that he, and all of them, are being watched, and he does terribly well at not betraying how unnerved it's making him, especially without the presence of his own family, as he casually joins his new family at dinner.
- itsAlanaToday at 8:22 PM
- "Of course," Loki says, and gives Gwyndolin a rather besotted smile, despite his earlier claims of not wanting his father to see him weak with love; then he tells Thor, rather commandingly, "Carve me a little bit of that bit at the top-- with all the herbs still crusting it--"
- "Of course, brother!" Thor says, cheerfully, and cuts away a skinny piece, offering it across the table to his brother on the carving fork; Loki deftly claims it with his own fork, and transfers it to Gwyndolin's plate.
- "Would you like a little sauce with that, Gwyndolin?" Loki offers, beckoning a little dish from the other side of the table with a twitch of magic; it seems filled with something creamy and green-tinted, that looks like it would go marvelously with the cut of lamb Gwyndolin's been granted. "Does anything else strike your fancy?"
- Potente Byrd MæmesToday at 8:26 PM
- "Thou art too kind, Thor," Gwyndolin thanks, though he is resisting the urge to smile at Loki's eagerness to boss his thoroughly scolded brother around. When offered the sauce, Gwyndolin leans closer to take a look and a dainty little sniff- it looks absolutely scrumptious! "Yes, please, just a bit- I think that will be enough for me for now. I think I am still feeling breakfast and tea!"
- He never dares to glance at Odin himself, even if he might feel an eye upon him, doing his best to remain as casual as the infamously austere Dark Sun Gwyndolin can manage, behaving as though it were just an average dinner, and not one in which he is desperate to make a good first impression.
- itsAlanaToday at 8:38 PM
- Loki laughs softly, and spoons a drizzle across Gwyndolin's cut of roast; it smells minty and fresh, in contrast to the heavy rosemary and garlic and the juicy fattiness of the meat. "Enjoy your dinner, then, dear Gwyndolin," he murmurs, and starts to fill his own plate, starting with the same rice concoction he'd served Gwyndolin.
- Frigga, to Gwyndolin's other side, compliments him, "That was a clever bit of magic with your crown, my child. May I ask how you did it?" Magic is a safe enough topic; boring to Thor, interesting to Gwyndolin and Loki, and a way for Gwyndolin to show his cleverness before his new father-in-law.
- Potente Byrd MæmesToday at 8:44 PM
- Gwyndolin offers Loki a sincere smile- though Loki has seemingly forgotten his own desire to keep a lid on their burgeoning strong feelings for one another around his father, Gwyndolin has not, and doesn't wish to cause Loki undue embarrassment. But his smile is sweet nonetheless, and holds much of the fondness he has been holding back.
- But then, as he claims his utensils and starts to eat, Frigga steals away his attention, with a topic Gwyndolin is plenty eager to indulge- especially when, evidently, magic is not quite so frowned upon in the gilded halls of Asgard's palace than Anor Londo. "Oh, yes, of course! It is a manner of magic I had originally developed of my own, stemming from my natural skill in illusions..."
- He's happy to chat away at Frigga about the nature of how his illusions can, in a way, shape and alter reality itself with some work, creating little pockets that are 'bigger on the inside', and how they can effectively be invisible from outside- basically, Gwyndolin invented hammerspace, among other things. He can create something from nothing, and even uncreate something into nothing, if temporarily. Tangible illusions and hammerspace, how about that!
- itsAlanaToday at 8:50 PM
- Loki absorbs this information, and murmurs to Gwyndolin some questions about what limits he has about what he can hide or materialize; could he hide away a horse? A house? A dragon? Some minutes into the conversation with Frigga and Loki, Odin pipes in with a question of his own.
- "Do they only come out into your hands, Princess Gwyndolin, or could any skilled in your sorceries retrieve them?" he asks, voice serious but eye sharp on his son's new wife.
- Potente Byrd MæmesToday at 9:06 PM
- Gwyndolin is happy to indulge! He explains that he has yet to experiment with any terribly large objects to hide away, and mostly sticks to his own personal effects, though he might like to try in a stable environment...
- But then, Odin finally chooses to enter the conversation, and Gwyndolin slightly regrets having sent away his crown in the first place, as there is nothing to hide how his eyes briefly widen in surprise. "Ah, well-" He starts, looking a bit shy suddenly. It isn't a dissimilar feeling to when his father would deign to ask him about what he does, yet also different, as he does not carry the lifelong familial closeness with Odin as he does with his own father. "In theory, someone could possibly find my 'pockets' and, should they know the theory and technique in my exact magics, procure what I have hidden away. As it currently stands, however, the likelihood is infinitesimally small. How would one locate what paradoxically does not truly exist? 'Tis not unlike trying to reach one's destination by crossing half as much distance, and half of that, nigh unto infinity."
- He pauses, wetting his lips with the dimpled tip of his little pink tongue. "And on that matter, though I have at times tried to impart my magics onto students, it seems the light of the moon, and the inherent magics within, is largely out of reach for many. The duke Seath, who has chased Moonlight long before my birth, has only scraped the surface of the magics that come naturally to me, while the people of Oolacile could not truly emulate my teachings, and instead found their own light-based sorceries, similar yet truly unique to them. There are others who can cast illusions, or alter space, but never to the same nature as I." He pauses, and clears his throat, looking a little sheepish. "I do not mean to sound overly boastful, as 'tis not only skill, but the circumstances of my birth that have created this discrepancy. Thus far, I have been quite alone in the deeper studies of the Moon's strength, and thus I remain its only deity."
- itsAlanaToday at 9:14 PM
- Loki looks entirely pleased with his clever husband's unique talents, and Odin hums, thoughtfully, as Frigga asks if she might still try to learn from him-- even if she cannot do the magic herself, surely it would be fascinating to learn about it, just for the sake of learning. "I might come listen and watch you as well, Princess Gwyndolin," Odin says, which is probably already more interest in Gwyndolin's sorcery than Gwyn ever expressed, "especially if you get around to testing the boundaries of your skills. It sounds quite educational."
- Loki looks even *more* pleased, bumping knees with Gwyndolin and sneaking a hand over to grasp his for a moment, as Thor pipes in, "It does sound like you have some fascinating talents, my sister, though I must admit the workings of magic are rather beyond me. I marvel that any of you have the patience for it!"
- "Not everyone can solve their problems with a hammer, Thor," Loki says, but he sounds amused, and can't seem to keep his eyes off Gwyndolin. He seems to think this is going well!
- Potente Byrd MæmesToday at 9:19 PM
- Gwyndolin can't help but blush at the attention, his eyes going a bit wide, the moonlight within them glittering gently. "I... would be most pleased to teach and to explore with thee both." Especially when it was something he has so rarely had the chance to speak on so much back in his homeland, outside of very small circles. "But if I may ask for similar in return- I would love nothing more than to learn of the magic of thy realms, and the differing rules of magicks and our realities."
- He's starting to smile now, glancing over at Loki with an equally pleased look, and smiling even more at Thor being earnestly sweet and complimentary. "It helps that I was born with a predisposition for it- the Duke, with his passions for both sorcery and moonlight, was eager to handle my education since the moment of my birth, and my father was quite happy to give the honor to his dear friend."
- itsAlanaToday at 9:46 PM
- "The duke was the one who made those butterflies for you, wasn't he?" Loki asks, and tells Frigga, "They're lovely, like-- I don't know how to describe them, but they're really spectacular little constructs, mother."
- Potente Byrd MæmesToday at 9:50 PM
- Gwyndolin beams, brightly. "Yes, he was! In fact, he once told me that his original butterfly was born both of his studies into Moonlight, as well inspired by, ah... myself, as we had grown as close as family." His cheeks turn a light pink, and he struggles not to smile brightly. "It was quite a sweet gesture that he had made these smaller ones as a wedding gift. Thou hast caught a glimpse of them at the reception yesterday evening- I would be happy to allow thee to get a closer look sometime!"
- itsAlanaLast Tuesday at 7:57 AM
- Frigga makes a delighted noise, and tells her sons, "I'd love to see them up close, when none of us are busy-- and to meet your duke someday." She reaches over to Gwyndolin, to squeeze his hand earnestly, and says, "If he's family to you, he's family to us."
- Loki smiles down at his plate, and asks Thor, "What do the Warriors Three and Sif think of going to fight dragons, brother?" to take some of the focus off him and Gwyndolin. Then, as Thor chatters amiably about his friend's enthusiasm for war, he offers Gwyndolin a bite of wine-braised veal to sample, right off his fork-- he doesn't want to overstuff his delicate husband, but the veal is very, very good.
- Potente Byrd MæmesLast Tuesday at 8:01 AM
- Gwyndolin smiles awfully warmly at Frigga. "And I am certain he would be pleased to meet thee as well. However, thou wouldst have to pay a visit to Anor Londo itself, as it would be far too difficult for him to visit Asgard..."
- Meanwhile, Loki is engaging his brother, which Gwyndolin isn't sure is just a distraction method or Loki actually caring about his brother (it concerns Gwyndolin an awful lot that he has yet to see Loki getting along or even thinking fondly of Thor at all yet?). But then, while Thor is eager to chat about his friends, Gwyndolin is offered a morsel to nibble off his husband's fork... which he does, very daintily, and they are just sickeningly sweet to look at, aren't they?
- itsAlanaLast Tuesday at 8:18 AM
- Loki does love Thor, very much, but... but Thor can be a lot, some days, and the past few days he's been too much. At least he doesn't seem hurt by Loki's ire, if only because he's too absorbed in himself to notice it...
- "But Loki, you should start coming to our planning! You're coming with us to fight dragons, are you not?" Thor says, cheerfully, after describing how Volstagg's excitement to try the cuisines of another world, perhaps including dragon steaks. "It would hardly be an adventure without you, brother!"
- Loki looks startled, and then rather pleased, and then a little subdued, all in a quick flicker; he demures, "I *am* going to be somewhat busy being newly-wed, Thor, and these dragons are reportedly most vulnerable to lightning; I think you'll be well-equipped to handle them without me."
- "Ah, but what of other dangers?" Thor wheedles at him, with a beautifully rakish grin, a tilt of his blond head. "What if we are beset by a horde of-- what things come in hordes in your world, dear sister? Surely there are dangers besides dragons!"
- Potente Byrd MæmesLast Tuesday at 8:24 AM
- Gwyndolin glances between Thor and Loki, and he smiles, warmed but still a bit concerned... Would it be rude for him to ask Loki about his relationship with his brother? They're married and already growing intimate, yes, but when they've only known each other a day, he worries it would be overstepping, that perhaps he should mind his own business...
- Ah, but it's his turn to be addressed again, and he smiles sweetly at Thor. "The only thing I can think to come in hordes might be the undead... But they are hardly a problem to concern us. They bother the humans in their kingdoms, but the Way of White is diligent and dedicated in their quests to deal with them."
- Ah, a slightly more innocent time of the world of Dark Souls, before demons and large abyssal outbreaks... "Of course, there are always monsters here or there causing troubles, but though they might be different from those thou hast faced, I am sure the concept is not one rare to thee."
- itsAlanaLast Tuesday at 11:32 AM
- Thor seizes the latter thing, and says, "See, brother? There's monsters that could do with slaying! Surely your wits could be put to use against some of those, could they not?"
- Loki is looking a little flustered and pleased, his hesitation melting under his brother's warm regard, and says, "Oh, well, I suppose if I'm not busy with something more important, I might have the time to lend you my magic to slay a monster or two..." He pushes around a piece of sweet potato with his fork, and glances under his lashes at Gwyndolin, and asks, "I suppose you've not slain any monsters, but perhaps you could give a handsome hero a kiss for luck before he sets off with his brother?"
- "And after that, you can give Loki a kiss, too," Thor teases, with a wink at Gwyndolin. Thor plz!
- Potente Byrd MæmesLast Tuesday at 11:48 AM
- Gwyndolin can't help but smile at the way Loki seems to just warm and melt at Thor's eager invitation- ahhh, so he *does* care and wish for his brother's attention! Maybe just not... all the kinds of attention Thor has to offer. But then Loki steals Gwyndolin's attention, with such a sweet, coy look and such a charming flirt, Gwyndolin can't help but blush and giggle and start to say, "Oh, well-"
- And then Thor just soils it entirely. Gwyndolin shoots a very stern and sour glare at Thor that very much says 'you're lucky you're on the other side of the table'. Thor better watch his mouth next time Gwyndolin's in arm's reach!
- itsAlanaLast Tuesday at 11:52 AM
- Gwyndolin is not the only one giving Thor a sour look, and Frigga says, scoldingly, "Thor, what did we talk about?"
- Thor blinks, and then recalls, and wilts a little. "Ahh-- sorry, Mother--" he starts, and she lifts a finger to stop him, then points the finger at Gwyndolin, redirecting his apology. "Forgive me, sister," he says, looking rather like a kicked puppy, "I meant no offense."
- Loki had a sour look himself, for a moment, but he DOES seem to be taking some joy in Thor's hangdog look, despite himself.
- Potente Byrd MæmesLast Tuesday at 12:03 PM
- Gwyndolin squints, and looks very much like he'd rather not forgive Thor at the moment... but he lets it go with a soft sigh, relaxing a bit in his seat and nodding. There you go, Thor, he'll give you another chance to not be officially put on his Bad Side. "'Tis forgiven. But please... do not do so again."
- He dares a glance at Odin- and then just as quickly passes his eyes over him and back to Loki. "Thou art correct that I have yet to slay any monsters myself, though I have read of them, and heard the tales of our knights and warriors who have. Such as basilisks, massive rats, strange gelatinous creatures, man-serpents, monstrous insects, monsters that pretend to be something more harmless, only to pounce upon unsuspecting victims... I hath even heard of rare tales of hydras, great water-bound, multi-headed serpents!"
- itsAlanaLast Tuesday at 12:10 PM
- Odin has remained quiet for this discussion, but when Gwyndolin looks at him, even if just for a moment, theres a hint of a smile around his eyes, around that solemn mouth. Apparently Frigga isn't the only person rather pleased with the new addition to their family.
- "Spectacular!" Thor sunshines, and grins at Gwyndolin and his brother. "Brother, we must find and kill a hydra with our friends! It will be a shining adventure to boast of for years to come!"
- "Well, if you want," Loki says, and he says it like he's rather dubious about the whole affair, but he can't help smiling at his brother, small and warm. "Who am I to deny my brother adventure?"
- Gwyndolin may recall, weeks ago, Lady Siffrid telling him that Loki's misadventures nowadays are often really Thor's misadventures...
- Potente Byrd MæmesLast Tuesday at 12:38 PM
- Gwyndolin isn't entirely sure how to feel about that glance he got of Odin, not sure if he read the man's face right... but if he did, he thinks he feels an inkling of wary pride. Anyways, Gwyndolin has a small, warm smile now, watching the pair of brothers finally have a positive interaction before him. It's really cute, actually, how Loki pretends to be only lukewarm, but wearing that smile he can't truly hide, affecting the bare minimum acquiescence while exuding an eagerness to be included in his brother's adventure.
- "Perhaps my brother and maybe even his first knight could join thee? I am certain he would be eager to, if asked." Gwyndolin suggests, helpfully. "But then, with the lot of thee, I would almost pity the poor hydra of thy hunt... It would surely be approaching unsporting, with such a hunting band!"
- itsAlanaLast Tuesday at 12:48 PM
- "How many heads do these serpents have? Perhaps each of us could take one, to give it a fair fight!" Thor suggests, and Loki snorts.
- "Tis not a fair fight unless there's at least two monsters to each of you and your warriors three, dear brother," Loki says, the affection is warm in his voice. "If it has less than eight, I might sit the battle out, so as not to overwhelm the creature-- or ten, if the Lady Sif is coming?"

- Gwyndolin gives Loki a terribly warm look at the way he compliments the abilities of his brother and his friends. This is far nicer to see than Loki being sour at his own brother, and Gwyndolin is hoping to see more of it.
- "The number of heads seems to vary, but no one is yet sure why. The popular theory is to do with age... But we have not yet seen a young hydra." Gwyndolin says, looking a bit like a hydra himself, the way the heads of his snakes peek over the table. "But all observed have had at least six heads- and my brother himself once fought one bearing nine!"
- itsAlanaLast Tuesday at 8:21 PM
- Loki says, "Ah, so I suppose I ought to sit out any hydra battles, just to be fair..." He glances at his brother through his lashes.
- "Nonsense! We can leave Fandral behind in Anor Londo, flirting with the maidens, and Volstagg can stay and eat Gwyndolin's father broke, and then the two of us, Sif, and Hogun can kill a hydra together-- the others can claim their glories later." Thor grins at the married couple, and promises Gwyndolin, "We'll bring you back a head, to hang over your bed!"
- "No, we won't, I don't want a Hydra head over my bed!" Loki laughs, but he looks pleased as punch that his brother is willing to leave his friends behind to fight at his side, and is smiling openly as he digs into the food he'd been distracted by. "But perhaps the rest might suit me."
- Frigga looks quite pleased herself, and before Thor can spoil Loki's mood with a thoughtless comment, she asks her husband, "Odin, how have the war talks been going? When should I expect my dear sons to take off to kill six-headed serpents?"
- "Quite soon, I think," Odin says, thoughtfully. "Lord Gwyn seemed like he wanted our assistance urgently-- though since this morning, he's settled on a somewhat calmer pace of discussion. I know not what has changed overnight, but it gives us a chance to organize our warriors and decide where and when they can best be used."
- This is the most Odin has said since his speech at the wedding!
- Potente Byrd MæmesLast Tuesday at 8:27 PM
- Gwyndolin is looking as pleased as Frigga, smiling so delightedly between the two brothers as he slowly nibbles at his food, appetite as dainty as the rest of him. "I do not think I would care for such a thing over my bed either, please." He says, with a giggle in his voice. "Perhaps some scales, however..."
- Alas, the topic finally turns, and Gwyndolin looks to the King, very interested in talk about his father and his kingdom, and their alliance. And also curiously noting that this is the most he's heard Odin say at once when not giving a speech. "Likely, my Lord Father was eager to acquire thy agreement." He interrupts gently, "Now that he has it, he feels more comfortable in taking some time, to allow thy warriors to be trained in how to combat the dragons of our world, and return to something more like his previous schedule of warfare."
- itsAlanaLast Tuesday at 8:44 PM
- "Scales, I'll allow," Loki says, "if Gwyndolin wants them." He smiles at Gwyndolin, and nudges his knee against his husband's, affectionally.
- Odin listens seriously to Gwyndolin's input, and nods, thoughtfully. "An excellent insight, Princess Gwyndolin," he compliments. "It will be time well-spent; I've no doubt that my warriors are up to the task already, but if we can keep more of them alive and make more of your land's enemies dead, I think none would complain."
- Potente Byrd MæmesLast Tuesday at 8:51 PM
- "Thy son Thor especially my Lord Father will be eager to welcome to fight at his and my brother's side- for we have heard the of Thor's prowess with the power of lightning." He smiles briefly over at Thor. "'Tis one of the first of many things thy warriors will be taught- that our dragons' only true weakness is lightning. Their stone scales are otherwise impervious, but lighting can strip it away and deal grievous harm, and render the tender flesh beneath vulnerable to all manner of weaponry, sorcery, and even disease."
- Some might think it odd how comfortably the dainty Princess Gwyndolin talks about war and the slaying of dragons. "Those gifted in lightning, or bearing lightning-infused weapons, are oft credited with the greatest damage dealt to our foes, and 'tis they who are the backbone of our every battle."
- itsAlanaLast Tuesday at 8:54 PM
- Thor looks VERY pleased, and says, "I am *very* gifted with lightning, as it happens; I will be proud to lead each charge against these dragons, to strip away their scales and leave their bodies soft and helpless before our warriors." He grins at Gwyndolin, and promises, "Your war will be over before the century is out."
- Potente Byrd MæmesLast Tuesday at 8:58 PM
- Gwyndolin smiles contentedly at Thor, looking maybe just a bit smug. "My Lord Father certainly seems to think so. 'Tis why he was so eager for this allegiance- we have been at war for millenia now, and the end is seemingly in sight at last." He pauses, looking thoughtful as he takes a nibble of his food. "... 'Tis a strange thing, in fact. The war started long before I was born- before even my brother, the Sun's Firstborn, came into this world. Before the sun itself hung in the sky- I have never conceived of a world without the Dragon War..."
- itsAlanaLast Tuesday at 9:07 PM
- "Well," Loki says, and gestures rather grandly with his fork, "perhaps you can look around Asgard, and see how you like a world without your war. Or we could take a trip to Midgard-- it's a rather pretty place, and absolutely lacking in beasts of dragonic origins." He smiles at Gwyndolin, and nudges their knees once more. "Or wait a hundred years, and look at Lordran."
- Potente Byrd MæmesLast Tuesday at 9:14 PM
- He smiles at Loki and, covertly, bumps his knee back against his husband's, one of his snakes coiling gently around Loki's ankle. "Perhaps, if we are lucky, it may even be less than a hundred years, and I can finally see my homeland without war." He says, softly, hopefully, earnestly. "Would that not be something truly grand?"
- Evidently finished with his meal, Gwyndolin briefly reaches over to lay his hand over his husband's... before taking his hand back, and folding both his hands politely in his lap. "Speaking of Lordran, I hope to bring my husband to visit sometime soon. I also hope that the rest of my new family would enjoy visiting my homeland as well. I know Frigga and the Duke absolutely *must* meet- thou wouldst love to see his Archives!"
- itsAlanaLast Wednesday at 4:31 PM
- Loki's heart melts, and he murmurs, "Grand indeed, my Gwyndolin," before raising his voice and suggesting, "Mayhaps, with my brother there, it'll be done by the end of the week!"
- Thor looks VERY pleased, and pledges, "If it will put a smile on my Lady Sister's face, I'll go end the war within the hour, army or no army behind me. Say the word, fairest Gwyndolin, and I'd trot right off to Lordran for you."
- "A kind promise," Odin says, mildly, "but I don't have such a surplus of sons that I'll let one go into a dragon's den unprepared, Thor."
- Thor wilts a little, and says, "Of course, father. Well-- if there's any other little thing I can do for you, sister, my ears and heart are open to your requests." Also his pants, probably, but he was scolded JUST a moment ago, so he doesn't add that.
- Potente Byrd MæmesLast Wednesday at 4:37 PM
- Gwyndolin can't help but lift his fingertips daintily to his lips, giggling softly. "Nor would I wish to send my brother-in-law of only a day into utter peril on my whim- but the sentiment, dear Thor, is kindly noted." Good thing Thor didn't add that last part! Without it, Gwyndolin seems quite pleased. "All I can think to ask at present is thy continued welcome into thy family, of which I am grateful."
- Then he pauses, and glances about the table, and says. "Also- I feel quite full and done with dinner, but... I don't suppose there may be a dessert? That, I think, I could make a little more room for!"
- itsAlanaLast Wednesday at 4:44 PM
- "There might be," Frigga says, and smiles at Gwyndolin, a pleased look in her eyes. "It should be out soon, if you wish to digest a bit more before setting into it, my dear Gwyndolin."
- Thor and Loki are chattering at each other, Loki clearly in excellent spirits, teasing and joking with a brother that's not trying to flirt with his husband and who wants him around-- ahhh, what a wonderful feeling it is! Frigga will take her sons' distraction to engage Gwyndolin in quiet conversation all by herself, a soft thread of magic wrapping her words in listen-elsewhere fog when she asks, "Has married life suited you so far, dear Gwyndolin? I know it's been only a day, but you and Loki seem to be getting on *very* well." Like in the hallway earlier, where she caught them making out!
- Potente Byrd MæmesLast Wednesday at 4:49 PM
- Gwyndolin is happy to quietly watch his husband and brother-in-law actually chatter in good spirits, getting along for the first time Gwyndolin has seen. At least, until his attention is caught by Frigga, and further when he notices the gentle whisp of magic in her words.
- "I would say it has..." He says, though the way he blushes quite deeply at Frigga's question may answer it a bit more accurately. He can feel the way his cheeks fill with blood and hopes, possibly in vain, that it does not catch other eyes... "I already have quite high hopes for the future of this marriage. A marked changed from how I felt this time yesterday, I assure thee."
- itsAlanaLast Wednesday at 4:56 PM
- Frigga smiles, soft with fondness, alight with joy, and leans close, to squeeze her new son's hand. "Loki told me much the same, when we conversed earlier. I am glad of it, my dear." Another soft squeeze, and then she suggests, the thread of magic around her voice strengthening as her words soften even more, "I know you did not expect to marry, and your education has likely not... touched on matters relating to marriage. I will not embarrass you by lecturing you on those matters, but I have some texts that you might find informative, if you wish me to send them to your rooms."
- Potente Byrd MæmesLast Wednesday at 5:00 PM
- Gwyndolin gives Frigga a smile that reflects hers like the moon reflects the sun, warm and joyful and fond, his eyes shimmering with pale moonlight. "He did...?" Gwyndolin all but whispers, his fingers curling in Frigga's. Shyly, he dares to steal a furtive glance at his husband...
- ... And then back to Frigga, as Frigga tries not to embarrass him as she vaguely touches upon certain topics, causing poor Gwyndolin's cheeks to flush deeply once again. "I-I-! Er... It may... be helpful..."
- itsAlanaLast Wednesday at 5:06 PM
- She laughs, very softly, and cups his blushing cheek. "I'll send a servant with a package after dinner, my dear." A gentle pat for her son's blushing cheek, and then, like a MONSTER, she suggests, "And if you cannot bring yourself to read them, just ask Loki for some lessons. I think he'd be overjoyed to show you what he knows."
- Frigga!!!! Frigga please!!!!!!!!
- Potente Byrd MæmesLast Wednesday at 5:27 PM
- Gwyndolin is absolutely going to p e r i s h. "Please! Frigga!" He pleads, with a little squeak and an utterly mortified face. "Th-This is hardly talk for the dinner table- they may not hear you but surely they will notice my utter embarrassment!"
- He huffs and tries to calm himself, his cheeks still awfully pink. "I-I think, if I need to, I could... trust such things to my husband. If I need to!"
- itsAlanaLast Wednesday at 5:34 PM
- Frigga laughs, and leans close to her new son, to place a benediction on his brow in the form of the kiss. "Forgive me, dear Gwyndolin; it is a trial to resist my urge to tease."
- Loki has definitely noticed Gwyndolin's embarrassment, but he's just smiling as he chatters with Thor and gently pets a snake's head under the table, glancing occasionally at his mother and groom with a glitter of amusement in his eyes. Odin has as well, but he trusts his wife, and says nothing, though he also looks amused.
- Potente Byrd MæmesLast Wednesday at 5:46 PM
- Gwyndolin can only give a little petulant whine, pouting even as he forgives Frigga whole-heartedly for embarrassing him. That snake getting pats under the table has come to coil a foot or two of his head and body onto Loki's lap, happy for the attention, while others have coiled comfortable about Lokis ankles and chair legs. Frigga, too, might have at least one snake shyly coiling around her feet, resting its scaly head upon a foot.
- "Now I know where Loki acquired the habit from..." He murmurs, still pouting a little- until he glances over at his husband, only to catch his green eyes just as Loki had been glancing at him as well. His eyes widen, then soften, shining as he smiles over at Loki.
- itsAlanaLast Wednesday at 5:52 PM
- Loki's heart melts instantly-- again!!-- and he smiles back, Thor immediately losing his attention as he leans closer to Gwyndolin, one hand rubbing gently against snakey scales and the other seeking out Gwyndolin's hand, to hold under the table.
- "--to confuse the enemy!" Thor finishes, to which Loki makes a vague affirmative noise, clearly not listening as he looks at Gwyndolin. Thor blinks, and squints at them, and then grins, a hint of his brother's wicked humor in his eyes. "Oh, Loki, did I mention, I caught a fish the size of Slepnir the other day?" Loki makes another agreeing noise, weaving his fingers with Gwyndolin's, and Thor's grin grows. "And I took it to a mead hall down in the city, we drank and danced the night away!"
- "Mmm-hmm," Loki says, eyes only for Gwyndolin.
- Potente Byrd MæmesLast Wednesday at 5:57 PM
- Alas, poor Thor, Loki is not the only one who pays him no more heed- both lovebirds have become quite occupied with each other, Gwyndolin happily allowing his hand to rest comfortably in Loki's, curling dainty fingers around it- and then between Loki's, as his husband chooses to weave their fingers together. They have eyes only for each other, Gwyndolin's shimmering gently, his cheeks tinted pink and a warm, fond smile stuck on his lips. These two are disgustingly twitterpated.
- While Thor is ribbing them gently by telling a wild untrue tale to call attention to how clearly they are not paying attention to him, glued only to each other, their parents are probably taking note as well. Here's hoping Loki doesn't fall back into the insecurity that had previously birthed his original desire to keep his feelings about Gwyndolin low-key (heehee) in front of his father.
- itsAlanaLast Wednesday at 6:04 PM
- Frigga, smiling at her besotted children, encourages Thor to spin a grand yarn of fish partying and betrayal and vast asgardian-versus-fish battles with wry questioning, leading to her son declaring, "As they flopped across the field, I knew these fish would be no easy obstacle to... *scale*"; Odin need only glance at Loki and his spouse to know all he needs to know, but he cannot deny that seeing his son so clearly happy warms him.
- Eventually, though, Loki snaps out of his fond reverie, something Thor said catching his ear, and he looks at his brother and asks, sounding rather lost, "Gillhalla?"
- Thor grins, impishly, and says, "Where fish warriors go when they're killed in glorious fish battle, my brother. Weren't you listening?"
- Potente Byrd MæmesLast Wednesday at 6:07 PM
- When the gaze between their eyes is finally broken, so is the spell that held Gwyndolin so utterly enthralled with his husband, and he glances towards Thor as well with a couple blinks, as if only just remembering the man exists. Eyebrows scrunching a little, he asks in bewilderment, "... Fish warriors? What in the world art thou talking about?"
- itsAlanaLast Wednesday at 6:08 PM
- "The fish warriors he engaged in glorious battle with," Odin says, a sparkle in his eyes. "Were you not listening, princess? T'was a grand tale, I must say."
- Potente Byrd MæmesLast Wednesday at 6:11 PM
- "A-Ah..." Gwyndolin pales (somehow), glancing at Loki, then down at his lap. "My apologies... it seems I was not paying attention whatsoever."
- He clears his throat, lifting his gaze and the poor thing has started to take this too seriously, not quite realizing he's just being teased for being so distracted with how twitterpated he was. "Are... fish warriors a common thing in Asgard?"
- itsAlanaLast Wednesday at 6:23 PM
- "They are not," Loki says, and squeezes his Gwyndolin's hand, "and I think, perhaps, we are being teased for our inattentiveness, my Gwyndolin, for I know for a fact Thor has never fought a fish warrior in his life. Are you spinning tales, brother?"
- Thor laughs, and says, "You'd have known I was if you were even half-listening, dear brother!"
- Potente Byrd MæmesLast Wednesday at 6:28 PM
- Much like when Frigga was teasing him earlier, Gwyndolin's cheeks go quiet red in embarrassment, and he tips his head down a bit. "Oh." He says, a bit quietly, feeling very silly and somewhat sensitive. "My apologies, I... did not mean to be so distracted."
- itsAlanaLast Wednesday at 6:31 PM
- "Ahh, 'tis no matter," Thor says, brightly, "it is nice to see my brother so happy!"
- Loki blushes, then, and opens his mouth, as if to object-- but-- he is happy, actually, and so he satisfies himself with rather primly turning up his nose at his brother and asking his mother, "Wasn't dessert on its way, mother? I think all but Thor's bottomless belly must be full by now."
- Potente Byrd MæmesLast Wednesday at 6:34 PM
- Gwyndolin is still looking bashful and even a bit rueful and ashamed as a result of the ribbing, but he's at least distracted by Loki bringing up dessert. "Yes, I, um," His voice is softened, like he's trying not to be intrusive, "I think I have quite digested enough. Dessert would be lovely. Please."
- itsAlanaLast Wednesday at 6:45 PM
- Frigga's expression goes soft, and Gwyndolin might find his elbow being squeezed to catch his attention, a reassuring smile on his new mother-in-law's face, trying to tell him he did nothing wrong. "Yes, it should be here any--"
- And then a wheeled tray is pushed into the room, with a large cloche hiding its dessert passenger; the serving girl pushing it curtsies deeply to the royal family. "May I take your plates," she murmurs, softly, and retrieves them after Odin nods to her, glancing curiously at Gwyndolin but otherwise behaving herself as she clears the way for dessert; then dessert emerges from under the cloche, a stunning array of shiny-glazed confections, marbled in soft pinks with delicate chocolate shapes, fresh berries, and rock sugar that glimmers like gemstones adorning the tops and a thick dark cookie of some kind underneath them. They each look like they must have taken hours to create, and possibly did.
- The serving girl serves them around the table, starting with Odin and ending with Loki; then she curtseys and leaves the room, leaving them to admire the incredible little treats they've been presented with.
- (https://thumbs.dreamstime.com/z/pink-marble-mirror-glaze-cake-rack-110541497.jpg something like this is what im thinking
- +decorations of course)
- Potente Byrd MæmesLast Wednesday at 6:53 PM
- Gwyndolin does take comfort in that touch, glancing briefly to Frigga and offering her a little half-smile. But then, right on cue, dessert finally arrives! Gwyndolin doesn't offer any smiles or words to the serving girl, instead only offering a bit of aloofness in return for her glance. But he stays out of the way of her work, letting her take his plates and replace them with... a kind of cake Gwyndolin has certainly never seen before, and his moonlight eyes sparkly gently at the one placed before him.
- "Is this a cake? It looks delectable!" Gwyndolin says, looking quite surprised. They have terribly fancy desserts in Anor Londo as well, some even daring to include flecks of real gold, but this is a different style than he's used to! "I hardly know where to start! Might I ask the make of it?"
- itsAlanaLast Wednesday at 7:03 PM
- Loki is oohing, too, and says, "'Tis quite unfamiliar to me, as well... mother?"
- Frigga smiles, angelic, and says, "'Tis a variation on a dish from my homeland, though one quite intensive to make... but very beautiful in result. Please, my children, try it; simply use a spoon to scoop out a bit."
- Loki obeys, and so do Thor and Odin (and, most likely, Gwyndolin); they'll find that under the marbled glaze there is a shell of cocoa-butter chocolate ganache that their spoon glides through, and beneath that, whipped chocolate and strawberry mousse intertwining and swirled together. The cookie bearing the shining confection crumbles into chunks at a slight pressure, and buried in the center is a heart of sliced fresh strawberries, cool and tart and sweet and light on the tongue. The whole thing is absolutely delectable, and Thor and Loki both sigh in pleasure as their first bite melts on their tongue, sweet and fluffy and full of complex flavors.
- Gwyndolin might or might not notice that, for dessert for his first meal with his new family, Frigga chose something from outside Asgard-- reminding him that she's a foreign bride, too.
- Potente Byrd MæmesLast Wednesday at 7:09 PM
- Gwyndolin is half expecting the dessert to be as hard as the marble it looks like, and actually gasps as he marvels at how easily his spoon glides through it, and the shocking darkness of chocolate under the pale pink marble. He wastes little time (though still at his own unhurried pace) in exploring the dish, nibbling spoonfuls and humming with delight. The crumble of the cookie next to the smooth softness of the mousse and ganache, and the surprising heart of fresh strawberries that absolutely steals his own heart away, it's heaven on a dish!
- Gwyndolin may be distracted by this new dessert, but Frigga's implication does not escape his notice. He'll have to ask her about it later.
- "Oh, I know so little about the culinary arts, yet I must know how the outer shell was made." He says, between spoonfuls of deliciousness. "It looked just like marble, and I half expected it to be hard as stone, yet my spoon passes through it like a hot knife through butter- the dish itself is marvelous, by the way!"
- itsAlanaLast Wednesday at 7:20 PM
- Frigga looks *very* pleased, and says, "I've been planning it with the pâtissier since the wedding was confirmed-- he's been practicing and designing these for weeks. The mousse is formed, then frozen, then the ganache poured over it to smooth the surface for the glaze; the glaze itself is colored and sweetened cocoa butter and gelatin, the colors poured into the same bowl before they're poured over the cakes themselves. It's very clever, and dreadfully time-consuming, and very pretty, don't you think?" She smiles proudly at her mousse cake, and says, "I'm quite proud of him. My own mother's pastry chef could hardly have done better."
- Potente Byrd MæmesLast Wednesday at 7:24 PM
- "'Tis certainly a work of art, and a part of me mourns that to truly appreciate it means to take it from this world." He says, a bit reverently, and takes another bite with a little delighted hum. "Oh but it *is* delicious. I do hope compliments are sent to thy pâtissier for all his work and evident mastery."
- Most likely, even as he's really digging in by his standards, Gwyndolin is eating the slowest and will likely finish last. He seems determined to finish, though- hopefully he won't regret it. But in the meantime, he smiles towards Frigga. "I would hear of thy homeland- may I?" He asks, curiously, "I did not realize Asgard's queen was not of Asgard."
- itsAlanaLast Wednesday at 7:38 PM
- Frigga answers Gwyndolin, voice soft and eyes softer, as she tells him of her home, of its huge forests and soaring mountains, of its kind and clever people, of the magical talents and future sight of its magic-users and the celebration of day-to-day life... and how glad she was that her union with a handsome young Aesir could bring peace to the fraught relations between their realms.
- "Your memory deceives you," Odin interjects, "for I wasn't so handsome, nor so young, my queen."
- "Oh, well, at least compared to now," she says, with an impudent little wink at her husband. Rude, Frigga! But Odin laughs, and smiles at his wife, and seems to take no offense at being called old and ugly.
- Potente Byrd MæmesLast Wednesday at 7:45 PM
- Gwyndolin can't help but glance at Odin just a bit slyly at the mention of a union with a 'handsome young Aesir'- and a small part of him can't help but wonder at that. He seems quite old and gray now, but perhaps Loki and Thor don't only get their good looks from their seemingly eternally beautiful mother... He giggles softly at the little exchange and, somewhat coyly, glances over at Loki, before returning his eyes to Frigga.
- "Thy homeland sounds lovely." He says, pausing to take another bite. "Perhaps I may visit someday?"
- itsAlanaLast Wednesday at 7:50 PM
- Frigga says, "If you can bear to leave Loki's side for more than an hour, I'd be honored to take you to Vanaheim, my dear." Her eyes are sparkling, with her smile, and she adds, "Or if Loki can bear to let you go so long... perhaps we'll just have to take him with us."
- Potente Byrd MæmesLast Wednesday at 7:52 PM
- Gwyndolin giggles again, but this time with more blushing and a touch of shy embarrassment. "Well... I get the impression that Loki would enjoy visiting places like Vanaheim, even were it not his mother's homeland." He says, looking over at his husband. "Am I wrong?"
- itsAlanaLast Wednesday at 7:58 PM
- Loki nods, and smiles at his Gwyndolin. "I would indeed. I have been to Vanaheim, but not for many long years; it would be a joy to see my grandmother and aunts again-- and to spend time with two of the loveliest people in all the nine realms." HE FLATTER!!! He flatter husband... AND... mom...
- Potente Byrd MæmesLast Wednesday at 8:05 PM
- What a good son!!! What a good husband!!! Gwyndolin is set all aflutter, blushing and looking all delightedly bashful and so very, very clearly utterly taken with the man he's been wed to. What a miracle of an arranged marriage this is- one day after meeting and they're twittering about each other like lovebirds! "Thou art still a terrible flatterer..." Gwyndolin demurs, toying with the last of his dessert under his spoon. "I worry my face might become stuck some shade of pink at this rate."
- He finally nibbles away the last spoonful of his dessert, leaving only a few sugary decorations left, which he picks at. "That reminds me- I mentioned this before, but really, I simply *must* take thee to Oolacile when we visit Lordran."
- itsAlanaLast Wednesday at 8:17 PM
- Loki laughs, and says, "You did mention it! Perhaps-- would you like to take Mother there, as well? I've no doubt she'd be fascinated by their sorceries as much as I would be..." He glances at Frigga, and then says, "Of course, there'll be more than one chance to visit; we could go for our honeymoon, just the two of us, and take her the next time."
- Potente Byrd MæmesLast Wednesday at 8:29 PM
- "I think I would, yes!" He says, but Loki's suggestion only gets better, and Gwyndolin smiles so brightly, cheeks pink. "... But perhaps after our honeymoon, yes. We could go, just the two of us, the first time." His voice has gone soft and sweet, his shining eyes literally sparkling gently, a snake coiling a little more tightly around Loki's ankle like a little scaly hug.
- "I would love to honeymoon in Oolacile with thee, Loki. I would be most glad to introduce my husband to the people of my favored little kingdom." With that said, Gwyndolin lifts a delicate little working of chocolate to his lips to daintily take a bite through a smile.
- itsAlanaLast Wednesday at 8:35 PM
- Loki finds himself with his chin in his hand, watching Gwyndolin take a dainty bite of chocolate, and deaf to Frigga saying, rather abruptly, "Well, now that dessert's done! Odin, Thor, why don't we go send a message to Gwyndolin's siblings that we'd like to break fast with them in the morn?"
- "Me?" Thor objects, then looks at his brother, clearly enraptured in his newly wedded spouse, and changes his answer to, "Yes, mother."
- "Hmm?" Loki says, when he notices his brother and mother leaving, turning to watch them go in surprise-- they've finished dessert, true, but usually they linger, if they're all eating together. He does not notice Odin, coming around the table on his side, and clasping the shoulders of his son and his spouse, a firm but gentle grip; he follows it up with a pat to the crown of Gwyndolin's head, and bids them both, "Have a good night, my children."
- Gwyndolin has been upgraded from "princess" to "my child"!!!!
- Potente Byrd MæmesLast Wednesday at 8:41 PM
- Gwyndolin too, and even before Loki notices, looks a little surprised at the sudden up-and-at-'em attitude, also used to dinners that linger (and Gwyndolin himself usually the first to leave, if he attends in the first place). Loki's surprise does not escape his notice either- he's about to lean close to Loki to ask if something is up when Odin passes by. His grip is firm and warm and somehow both comforting and discomforting- especially with the added fatherly pat to Gwyndolin's soft silver hair.
- "Ah...?" Is all the noise he manages to make, losing his eloquence and manners suddenly, eyes a little wide. Goodness! What a sudden upgrade! His eyes trail after the rest of the family- especially Odin- before he at last glances at Loki, as if his husband holds an explanation for the sudden exodus of his family and demeanor of his father. "Did something... happen?"
- itsAlanaLast Wednesday at 8:53 PM
- Loki opens his mouth to answer, but his silver tongue fails him for a moment-- and then he turns pink, a blush along his cheekbones and coloring his nose, and says, face turning towards his empty plate, "I, uh, think Mother wanted to give us some alone time." He glances up at Gwyndolin through his lashes. "I was getting quite distracted again by how pretty your eyes are, I think."
- Potente Byrd MæmesLast Wednesday at 8:58 PM
- "Oh." Is all Gwyndolin has to say to that, a blush to mirror Loki's spreading across his face. Those eyes that Loki admittedly becomes distracted by shimmer and sparkle gently at him, and Gwyndolin briefly chews his pretty pearly lower lip... He reaches a hand out, seeking Loki's to lay it upon his husband's hand. Finally finding words again, he says, quietly, "I feel that a dining room is, perhaps, not the best place for extended alone time... Shall we relocate?"
- Gwyndolin wants to spend some alone time with his husband, actually! Nice call, Frigga.
- itsAlanaLast Wednesday at 9:01 PM
- Loki's blush deepens, but his eyes crinkle as he tries to suppress a smile. "How clever a Gwyndolin I married! I think you might be right." He enfolds Gwyndolin's hand in his, and lifts it, to kiss the knuckles tenderly. "Do you know what else I think?" he asks, as he carefully stands, doing his best not to jostle Gwyndolin's affectionate snakes too badly.

- Gwyndolin's snakes reluctantly release Loki to let him stand, as well as to find proper places upon the floor to allow their master to stand, hand in hand with his husband and smiling so fondly at him. "What might my husband be thinking?" Gwyndolin echoes, wiggling his fingers gently in Loki's grasp. "Thou hast made me curious."
- itsAlanaLast Wednesday at 9:12 PM
- "I think," he murmurs, and leans close to Gwyndolin, releasing his hand to wrap his arms around his waist, "that dinner went wonderfully."
- Mwah! So wonderfully that Gwyndolin gets a kiss, and a nuzzle, and gets to hear Loki's pleased laughter in his ear before he adds, "Did you hear that the Allfather called you his child?" A hand slides down, and Loki casually hoists his husband in his arms,, an arm under his butt to lift him-- his snakes are still touching the ground, but Loki can still twirl his husband, and kiss him again, delightedly, as he lets him down to his more usual height. "I think you charmed him, my dear!"
- Potente Byrd MæmesLast Wednesday at 9:16 PM
- Gwyndolin gives a soft little 'oh!' as Loki's arms wrap about him, as his lips find his, that his face gets a nuzzle and his ear gets such sweet, charming laughter happening to it. "I did-" He starts, because he did hear what the Allfather had said, had called him and given him a pat on the head, and he's still a little flummoxed by it- but he's interrupted as Loki suddenly lifts him up in his arms, against his chest, Gwyndolin making a high noise and his snakes hissing as they're twisted about on the floor while Gwyndolin is twirled.
- His face goes pink and he can't help but laugh in pleased surprise. "Did I??" He asks, breathlessly, snakes easing him back to a normal height, his lips tingling with another kiss. "I was not sure- I was so nervous-"
- itsAlanaLast Wednesday at 9:20 PM
- "You were perfect," he says, and nuzzles their noses alongside each other, and adds, softly, "You're really very perfect." Kiss! He likes you, Gwyndolin, he likes you so much, he's so glad--
- But Gwyndolin is right that a dining room is no place for alone time, and Loki takes a deep breath as he steps back a little, hands finding the bare skin just below Gwyndolin's puffed sleeves, under his cape. "We should head back to our room, I think," he murmurs, and smiles adoringly at Gwyndolin, taking another step back, hands sliding down to join with Gwyndolin's before he turns to lead the way back.
- Potente Byrd MæmesLast Wednesday at 9:33 PM
- "O-Oh." Gwyndolin says again, softly, unable to keep himself from smiling and pressing a little return kiss or two to Loki's lips, giggling quietly against them, his cheeks so red... Loki said he was perfect. That he *is* perfect. How- how wonderful.
- He's almost sad when Loki finally steps back, but all he can do is smile back at Loki, equally adoring, those moonlight eyes sparkling gently. "Perhaps. That is a good idea..." He feels a little breathless, like Loki had stolen it away and he's struggling to get it back. His fingers curl in Loki's, refusing to let go even as his husband leads the way from the dining room, as Gwyndolin slithers along beside him.
- It's already a minute or two passed in the halls, when Gwyndolin quietly asks, needing to hear it again- even if he knows he still won't truly believe it for himself, it's so dreadfully nice to hear someone claim to think it- "... I am perfect?"
- itsAlanaLast Wednesday at 9:40 PM
- Loki turns, to walk backwards before Gwyndolin, and beams at him, gathering up his hands again and kissing them without missing a step. "Entirely so, as far as I can tell," he says, voice sweet, and presses their hands together, slowing to a stop, palm to palm and fingers interlaced. "But perhaps I need take a closer look for imperfections?" he murmurs, and though they're in the halls, he steps close, and leans close, and nuzzles tenderly along Gwyndolin's jaw. "Hmm, there's none here," he murmurs, "maybe the other side will have one? No, no, it's perfect here too... maybe your forehead isn't quite right?" He kisses that forehead , and kisses it again, and says, "Flawless!" before stepping back, a lopsided smile on his face as he suggests, "Well, you still look perfect so far, but there's so much of you I haven't given a close inspection..."
- His eyes sweep down Gwyndolin's body, then meet his eyes again, adoring their moonlight shine.
- Potente Byrd MæmesLast Wednesday at 9:48 PM
- Gwyndolin might be impressed with Loki's ability to so effortlessly walk backwards while multitasking, but he's a little distracted by all this flort. And the flort only increases as Gwyndolin stays still while Loki nuzzles and kisses here and there, declaring all of his entire face perfect and flawless. Gwyndolin can only reply with little flustered noises and an occasional little 'oh!' until Loki steps back again, leaving him all aflutter and breathless and very, very pink.
- And then he only gets pinker- and then redder- at Loki's implication, and the obvious clue of the way those green eyes briefly look him up and down... Golly!!! "Well... perhaps..." He says, so quiet, briefly glancing around to make sure no one else can hear, "I might let thee inspect later..."
- G o l l y ! !
- "But first, I think, I would like another kiss..." He says, tugging Loki gently by their joined hands, to urge him closer. "And then to retire. Please?"
- itsAlanaLast Wednesday at 9:57 PM
- Loki could hardly not kiss Gwyndolin! And, in fact, he does kiss Gwyndolin, adoringly, his own heart all aflutter, lifting their joined hands to rest over his heart-- and when he steps back, he says, as sweet as the mousse they'd just enjoyed, "I think I'd enjoy giving you a very thorough inspection, my lovely Gwyndolin. But you are right; retiring to our rooms comes before that." He grins, green eyes bright, and asks, "Would you like me to carry you the rest of the way?"
- Potente Byrd MæmesLast Wednesday at 10:00 PM
- Loki's heart may just flutter more at the absolutely delighted little noise Gwyndolin makes when he's kissed, his eyes going shut as he happily returns it, smiling against Loki's lips. He's reluctant to actively think it, in wary of jinxing it, but he's certain that he's... never been so happy.
- "Wouldst thou?" He breathes, lashes fluttering just a little following their kiss, the pretty thing looking so exhilarated from the joy between them alone. "I would hope my snakes are not too heavy..."
- itsAlanaLast Wednesday at 10:15 PM
- "I've carried Thor home after a night of immoderate drinking, where he was two-thirds mead; you'll be a feather in my arms." He gently maneuvers around his husband, and scoops him up in a bridal carry, nuzzling his hair. "And you smell *much* nicer, I must say," he says, affectionately, and lets the snakes settle before continuing towards their room. "And look nicer, too, now that I think about it. Not to mention exceedingly more kissable and less likely to spill drinks on my favorite tunic..."
- Potente Byrd MæmesLast Wednesday at 10:24 PM
- Gwyndolin is a little unsure what to do with himself as Loki moves about him, until he's scooped up with a little noise of surprise, followed by a delighted giggle. His snakes are long, long, long, and drag on the floor- though they do their best to slither a little, so they aren't too much dead weight. "Exceedingly more kissable! I would hope so!" He says, with a giggle, "But oh, be careful when I am ill, I am quite prone to dropping things then, I might spill drinks on thee."
- Gwyndolin lays his head against Loki's shoulder, comfortable in his husband's arms, looking up at Loki with a smile and shimmering eyes and looking so openly smitten for any stray guard or servant or passing noble to see... Very softly, barely above a whisper, he says in a very sweet tone, "You smell rather nice as well." And, worried suddenly that that sounds a little weird, follows up quickly, "A-And look nice. I admit I have not done a terribly thorough inspection myself, but... I think you are quite perfect, as well."
- His tone, though soft and gentle, carries a weight in it, an important, that Loki might catch- if only by the small change in Gwyndolin's dialect.
- itsAlanaLast Wednesday at 10:28 PM
- Ohhhh.... Loki does, and he feels his heart turn to butter and his knees turn to willow branches, and he rubs his face against Gwyndolin's, not even watching where they're going-- how could he, when it's so much more important to kiss Gwyndolin, nuzzle him, cuddle him protectively close and touch their noses together. "Perhaps." he murmurs, sounding warm and overwhelmed, "later, you can do your own inspection..."
- Then they're at their door, and Loki pushes it open, to carry Gwyndolin all the way to Loki's room and bed before setting him down.
