  1. The Lone Kobold [Human(m)xKobold(f) sex, violence, romance]
  2. by Teether
  3.
  4.
  5. >The snow rips at you face as you hike it through ass high snow
  6. >You are a burly mountain-folk living in the high mountains of the north
  7. >You are muscled and bearded but gentle at heart
  8. >You are carrying a pack full of freshly chopped wood with your trusty double-sided ax in hand
  9. >You can see your cabin in the distance, its roof thick with snow and smoke billowing from the chimney
  10. >You breath in the cold frosted air mixed with the smell of the pines and smoke
  11. >It burns your lungs but you wouldn’t be anywhere else in the world
  12. >This is one of the biggest blizzards you’ve ever seen and your gut tells you its only going to get worse
  13. >This will be your last haul of wood before you’re completely snowed in for the next week or so
  14. >You open the cabin door and prop your ax up against the wall
  15. > You take the bundle of wood and place it with the rest of the firewood in a corner next to the fireplace
  16. >The cabin is one large room with an old wooden table, a leather love seat in front of the roaring stone fireplace, a cabinet full of food to last you about two weeks and a large cozy bed covered in animal furs
  17. >You take off your heavy leather coat before sitting down on the loveseat with a medium tankard of whiskey, a full pipe, and your newest book
  18. >Life can’t get much better than this
  19. BANG BANG BANG
  20. >You hear someone banging frantically on the heavy wooden front door
  21. >Nobody should be around for miles; your cabin is smack dab in between the route connecting the two closest cities
  22.
  23. >You hear a thick layer of snow avalanche down off of the roof of the cabin
  24. *Oh shit
  25. > You swing open the door only to see a wall of snow taking up the entire doorway
  26. >You grab your trench spade next to the door and begin digging
  27. >You dig for an hour but you still don’t see any sign of a person
  28. *Was all that banging just in my head? Maybe it was just some grizzly
  29. >You’re about to give up but just then your spade hits something hard
  30. >You look at what you hit
  31. >Its……..two horns?
  32. >You put the spade down and begin to clear away the snow with your bare hands
  33. >You begin to dig out the back of a head covered in earthy red colored spines and scales
  34. *A Kobold? Why would a Kobold come this far North? Are they fucking suicidal?
  35. >Your hands are going numb but you refuse to give up as you quicken your pace
  36. >You uncover the top half of the kobold laying face down in the snow pile
  37. >You loop your arms under theirs and pull them out of the snow with all your strength
  38. >They land on top of you with dead weight
  39. >You lay them down gently next to you before getting on your knees beside the small kobold
  40. >You put your fingers to their neck
  41. >There is a pulse but its light, they’re barely breathing
  42.
  43. >You try to rack your brain to remember anything about Kobolds that might help you save them
  44. *They’re cold blooded is all I remember, I think. Fuck! I don’t know! When was the last time I even saw a kobold?!
  45. > You close the cabin door and begin to pull all the fur blankets off of your bed
  46. >The kobold is wearing fur lined leather jacket, pants and shirt that are all completely soaked in melted snow
  47. >You begin to remove the creature’s clothes hanging them on a rack near the fireplace to dry
  48. >You take a second to admire the creatures alien looking body
  49. >The creature has sleek, toned muscle and no outward signs of a sex
  50. >No breasts, no genitals, no hair, nothing
  51. *Weird
  52. >You begin to feel ashamed as you remember that you’re trying to help them not die
  53. >You begin to wipe down their body with towels, running your hands over their smooth scales and rough protruding ridges
  54. >You get a bit flustered from the awkwardness of it all
  55. *You’ll thank me later…….I hope
  56. >There’s still no response from the kobold, its body as cold as ice
  57. >You begin to worry that you’re too late
  58. >You start wrapping the kobold in multiple layers of fur blankets before carrying them over to the fire cradled in your arms
  59. >You sit down in front of the fire with the swaddled lizard in your arms, hoping that the fire and your body heat will be enough
  60. >You sit for a half and hour as you listen to the wind outside roar and the fireplace crackle
  61. >You look down into the creatures face
  62. > It amazes you how something so small and skinny made it this far without freezing immediately
  63. >You hear a light moan come from the kobold as it begins to wriggle and shift slightly in the blankets
  64. >Its eyelids open slowly revealing two large beautiful golden cat-like eyes
  65. >Its eyes dart around erratically in a panic
  66. “Don’t worry, your safe now, I am not going to hurt you” you say
  67. >A small clawed hand shoots out from under the blankets and slashes you across your left cheek, drawing copious amounts of blood
  68. >As you lift your left hand up to your face to stop the bleeding, the naked kobold wriggles its way out of the fur blanket cocoon
  69. >It runs across the room gathering up its wet clothes in its arms and bolting for the door
  70. “Stop!” you yell
  71. >It opens the door as a large gust of ice cold wind instantly sucks all the hot air out and extinguishes the fireplace
  72. >The kobold writhes in discomfort as it’s overtaken by the brutally cold wind enveloping everything in the cabin
  73. >It drops its wet clothes and frantically scampers over to the farthest corner of the room to get away from the gusting wind
  74. >You jump up and slam the door shut as the last of the heat leaves the room
  75. >You pick up a large iron bar next to the door and drop it across its hinges locking it
  76. >You angrily stomp over to the kobold about to scream at it
  77. >The kobold is shivering, bent over, cowering for its life in the corner as it sniffles
  78. *This must all seem awfully scary; besides I am well over six feet and the Kobold can’t be more then four and a half feet tall. I probably look like a giant monster to it
  79. >You take in a deep breath and sit down in front of the shivering creature
  80. >”Look, I am sorry if this seems scary to you but I was just trying to help. I just took off your clothes because you were soaked to the bone. No funny business. Do you understand me?”
  81.
  82. >The kobold just eyes you up and down as it sits in the corner
  83. *The thing probably doesn’t even know what I am saying
  84. >You sigh, rubbing your fingers between your eyes before getting back up
  85. “Well, I am going to try to get this fire restarted before we both die”
  86. >You walk back over to the fireplace
  87. >Some snow managed to got knocked down the chimney and there are only a few glowing embers left
  88. >You grab some kindling and dry moss and try over again
  89. >It’ll be a while before you can get the heat back up but it’s better than nothing
  90. >You sigh deeply as you begin to try and feed the fire once more
  91. >You get a small flame going
  92. *Yeah……It’ll be quite a bit
  93. >You hear the patter of little clawed feet on the old wooden floor
  94. >The kobold sits down next to you by the baby fire, struggling to stay alive
  95. >”I am sorry for hitting you…….thank you” said the kobold in a very feminine reptilian voice with a hissing lisp
  96. >You are surprised, it not only speaks fluent common language, which is rare, but its voice is also light and fair, not at all what you expected a kobold to sound like
  97. >The kobold looks up at you with questioning eyes “What? Surprised the cave varmint can talk?”
  98. *Yes
  99. ”N…..no? It just gets quiet up here, it’s hard to hear another voice when you spend so much time by yourself”
  100. >”Wow that sounds sad, by the way my name is Ssahkar, what’s yours?”
  101. >You decide to let the insult slide, as you puff yourself up
  102. ”My name’s Brigham, but you can just call me Briggs, I come from a long line of mountain lumberjacks. I spend all spring, summer, and fall felling trees just like my father and my father’s father and so on”
  103. >”And it never gets lonely?” said Ssahkar scooting closer to you until her side pressed into you
  104. >The kobold was still shivering; you could tell she was beginning to succumb back to the cold as her movements began to slow down
  105. >”So nobody knows you’re out here? How long are we trapped in for?” she said in a slow, sleepy tone
  106. ”Not really, it’s a couple days hike to the closest city and it’ll be a week or two till this lets up. Say, how did you get all the way out here by yourself anyway?”
  107. >”ggggooooddddd……”
  108. *What?
  109. >The kobold’s head slumps over into your lap, completely passed out as the room grows colder and darker
  110. *Shit
  111. >You feed the fire some more wood before picking the small kobold up and placing her gently in the bed
  112. >You warm the fur pelts by the fire before laying them over her
  113. >You reach into the fire with the poker and fish out a couple hot rocks, putting them in a small bag and tucking them under the covers of the bed
  114. >You begin to shiver as your breath becomes visible in the air
  115. *Only one thing we can do now.......
  116. >You strip down to your underwear and crawl into the bed trying your best not to touch the Kobold less she claws the fuck out of your body again
  117. >You cup your hands over your junk in case she goes for them first
  118. >You fall asleep as the wind outside screams like a banshee
  119.
  120. >It’s faint but you can hear the birds chirping through the cabin walls, their song bringing you slowly out of your heavy rest
  121. >You open your eyes and look over to your right
  122. >Ssahkar isn’t there
  123. >You begin to panic but you hear a light murmur as something scaly wriggles around your chest
  124. >You lift up the blankets to see the kobold snuggled around your midsection; head snuggled into the hair on your barrel chest
  125. >She’s fast asleep with a large smile on her face
  126. >A smile begins to cross your face as well
  127. *That’s actually really cute…..for a kobold
  128. >You look over at the fireplace seeing the embers had comeback to life
  129. >You need to get up to feed it before it goes out again, but the kobold is firmly wrapped around your broad muscular body
  130. “Ssahkar, Ssahkar, wake up”
  131. >Ssahkar lets out a tired moan before opening her eyes
  132. >She lets out a small “eeepp” jumping back from your body blushing
  133. >”I am so sorry, I didn’t know…..You were just so warm, large, and……..” Ssahkar trails off looking down at her fidgeting claws
  134. “……..Well I am gonna cook us some breakfast. What would you fancy eating? I got all kinds of stuff. Ssahkar?”
  135. >”What?” she says
  136. “What would you like to eat?”
  137. >The kobold’s eyes got wide with jaw slightly agape “Your going to cook?......For me?”
  138. “Uhhhhh…..yeah? Is that culturally weird or something for kobolds? Offering your guest food?”
  139. >”You think I am a guest?” the Kobold said as her golden eyes began to glitter
  140. “Yes……..Is there something I am missing here?” you said even more confused
  141. >”Could…could I have some jerky?” Ssahkar asked sounding scared as her stomach rumbled
  142. “Just jerky? Damn you’re the easiest guest I’ve ever had to care for. Here, I’ll make you more than just that” You say with a hearty laugh as you begin to bring some jerky, salted bacon and chicken eggs out of the cabinet
  143.
  144. >The kobold begins to climb out of the bed
  145. “Hey you stay in bed and keep warm, I’ll do the cooking and bring it to you when its done” you say as you begin to crack the eggs over the side of a giant cast iron skillet
  146. >The kobold once again seems shocked as she climbs back into bed and quickly falls asleep
  147. >The cabin begins to waft with the smoky smell of fried bacon and eggs cooked to perfection over the fire
  148. >You can’t help yourself; you lean over to take a small bite out of the piping hot skillet
  149. >You burn the fuck out of your mouth
  150. >You fall back towards the drying rack over the fireplace smacking into Ssahkar’s clothes
  151. >You hear a bunch of metal clink to the wooden floor
  152. >You look down at the floor and see three very small, very professionally honed steel knives
  153. >You pick Ssahkar’s leather jacket off of the rack and begin to go through it
  154. >It just looks like a normal jacket until you run your hands over the sleeves
  155. >In the sleeves are secret pockets filled with even more of the small knives
  156. *What the fuck?
  157. >You put the knives that fell out back into the jacket sleeves and hang the coat back up on the rack
  158. *For self-defense? Well she is tiny. But then why are they hidden in the sleeves?
  159. >You scrape the bacon and eggs out onto two ceramic plates with forks and bring them over to the bed
  160. “Ssahkar?”
  161. >The kobold sits up and you hand her the plate of food, it looks giant compared to the little creature as she lays the large plate in her lap
  162. >She just stares wide-eyed at the mountain of food
  163. >You sit on the end of the bed next to her and begin to shovel food into your mouth
  164. >You begin to hear sniffling coming from Ssahkar
  165. >You look over, mouth still bursting with food
  166. >Ssahkar is weeping over her food, tears streaming down her scaly face and falling onto the plate
  167. >”Why are you doing this?......I don’t understand……”
  168. *For fucksake what did I do now? Is this kobold mental?
  169. >You swallow your mouthful and put your plate down on the trunk at the foot of the bed
  170. “What am I doing exactly?” You say in an irritated tone
  171. >”Why are you being so nice to me? I am a fucking kobold!” Ssahkar said
  172. “Because you’re my guest? Are you just now figuring that out?” You say in more of an angry tone then you meant to
  173. >Ssahkar crosses her arms and glares at you “What’s your end game ‘mountain man.’ There’s always an endgame. People just act nice to get things from each other.”
  174. >Ssahkar began to press her claws against the sides of her head. “Why would you save me? Why would you cook for me? Why would you offer me so much food? None of this makes any sense. What do you want? JUST TELL ME!”
  175. >You lean over, moving her plate of food to the other side of the bed and wrap your big arms around Ssahkar giving her a hug
  176. >She begins to fight you scratching wherever she can get her claws around your ribs
  177. >Eventually she lets up and begins sobbing loudly into your chest
  178. >”Why?……why?….why?….” she sniffles
  179. “I promise I want nothing from you. Please, I promise you I won’t hurt you or take anything from you.”
  180. >The little lizard spends what feel like hours sobbing into your chest, soaking your shirt
  181. >The sobbing eventually dies down as you release the kobold from your hug
  182. >You reheat her food over the fire for a second and bring it back to her
  183. “Eat up, you deserve it,” you say
  184. >Ssahkar wipes the snot from her muzzle with her arms and begins to eat her food
  185. >You finish off the rest of your now cold meal before attending back to the fire
  186.
  187. >As the days passed, you and Ssahkar began to open up more and more to each other
  188. >Good thing you had plenty of whisky and games stored up for getting snowed in
  189. >Ssahkar finally had her pants and shirt back on making things a little less awkward, though you insist that she keep her jacket by the fire to stay warm just incase she has to go outside
  190. >At first Ssahkar drank very little, still seeming weary of your generosity. Though, as the days passed she became visibly and vocally more relaxed around you
  191. >You start to crack jokes with her and you both began to talk about your pasts and passions
  192. >The little kobold had quite a story, though you felt that she was leaving a lot of details out
  193. >It turns out she grew up in a small village in the farthest corners of the Southern Desert regions, some of the harshest land known to mankind. She quickly left the village at a young age and spent much of her time traveling all over the realm joining various “guilds” along the way
  194. >Every time you push her for more details she just says that she doesn’t want to talk about it saying, “Those aren’t the kind of memories I really want to dredge back up”
  195. >As for you, well, there’s not much to say. You’ve lived in the same mountain range your whole life working in the forests. The furthest you’ve gone is to a couple of the surrounding cities.
  196. >Ssahkar just giggled and said something about you being naïve to the outside world “There’s literally a whole world out there! Have you never wanted to go out and explore it!” she said
  197. “Not really, I guess I just felt like the mountains are my home, they’re where I belong. Like they were meant for me. Maybe that’s an excuse, who knows”
  198. >”I’ve never felt at home anywhere, It’s not like things out there are easy for my kind in the first place, and being a drifter is pretty much just asking the world to fuck with you. “ Ssahkar said looking down into her mug of whiskey
  199. >You put a hand on her skinny scaly shoulder
  200. >She wraps both of her hands around your midsection attempting to hug you
  201. >“Thanks Briggs, this is the most I’ve talk to someone in a long time”
  202. >”Well, that’s kind of sad” you say playfully
  203. >She punches you in the arm and you overreact by falling onto the floor, kicking and screaming in fake pain “Ahhhh you’re killing me! Stop”
  204. >Ssahkar laughs harder than you’ve ever heard the kobold laugh until she trails back off into her mug
  205. >”Get up you buffoon, you still need to prove that the ‘mountain man’ can outdrink me” she said
  206. >You get up and the both of you start pounding whiskey. It doesn’t take long for you both to be completely shit faced
  207. >Despite your size, you never really drank to excess much by yourself
  208. >Its night and you both start spilling shit and breaking shit by accident
  209. >You both decide its best to call a tie and sleep off the whiskey
  210. >You strip to your underwear and climb under the warm furs
  211. >Ssahkar strips out of her now thoroughly messy shirt and pants, climbing awkwardly into bed
  212.
  213. >Ssahkar puts a small scaly arm around you and lays her head on your chest
  214. >She begins to nuzzle your chest while hissing and moaning, “You know I’ve always thought of what it would be like to be with a human, you’re all so big, so strong, so warm”
  215. >You sit upright trying to take in what Ssahkar just said as she sits back from you
  216. >”I am sorry, I didn’t….I thought you were…..forget I said anything…I am just drunk….just an ugly drunk kobold” said Ssahkar rolling over and moving to the far right side of the bed
  217. >You feel guilty, you didn’t mean to put her off, Its just that’s its been such a long time since you’d been with anyone. She just took you off guard being so blunt
  218. >You slide over to her side of the bed
  219. “Ssahkar look at me, please”
  220. >She sighs and rolls over so you’re both face-to-face “What?”
  221. >You put your hand underneath her muzzle and kiss her
  222. >Ssahkar’s giant golden eyes go wide
  223. “Your not ugly to me Ssahkar, I don’t care if you’re a kobold, you’re an amazing person and…..”
  224. >Before you can finish Ssahkar wraps her arms around your head and brings you close to her muzzle
  225. >She slips her long forked tongue into your mouth as it wraps around your tongue
  226. >Her tongue continues down into the back of your throat as it massages your insides
  227. >The kobolds saliva mixes with your own, as you taste a sweet metallic flavor in your mouth
  228. >This might have to be one of the weirdest, most alien, sensations of you’ve ever felt in your life but dammit if it didn’t turn you on
  229. >Ssahkar seems to be enjoying this as much as you, moaning as the tip of her tongue flickers in your throat
  230. >You cough and gag as she draws her tongue out of your mouth, she moves back and licks her mouth “You humans taste pretty good from the inside, now how about the outside?”
  231. >The kobold begins to flicker her tongue across your chest and nipples, slowly moving her way down your burly stomach and finally to your crotch
  232. >She pulls down your underwear with a single claw, revealing your already throbbing cock
  233. >”hhsss, I guess the ‘mountain man’ really does like kobolds” Ssahkar hisses in a sensual, bubbly, voice
  234. >She begins to flicker the tip of her forked tongue over your head, tickling it as she firmly grasps your base with one claw and balls in the other
  235. >She rubs the side of her face up and down your cock “hhsss you’re so warm, it feels so soothing, so comforting, ” she says excitedly
  236. >All this teasing is almost too much for you but you manage to hold yourself back, instead breathing out a cloud of released tension into the chilly air
  237. >Ssahkar snaps her jaws open revealing rows of sharp needle teeth as she begins to bring it down over your dick
  238. >Your whole body clenches as you wait for your dick to be shredded into a million tiny strips
  239. >To your surprise it feels amazing; the kobold has her entire tongue wrapped around every inch of your shaft as she draws it in and out of her muzzle
  240. >The tongue undulates rapidly, massaging every part of your dick
  241. *goddam this is amazing
  242. >She quickens her pace as you put your hands on the two little horns on top of her head, guiding her back and forth
  243. >She keeps going faster and faster and you don’t know how long you can hold out if she keeps this pace up
  244. >Ssahkar abruptly pulls her tongue back into her mouth and licks up a tiny drop of precum from your tip
  245. >”mmmm delicioussssss” she hisses excitedly
  246.
  247. >You sit up to get into a better position but Ssahkar puts a claw on your chest “wait” the little kobold insists
  248. >She grinds her crotch back and forth against your now slick dick, pressed up against your stomach
  249. >She grinds faster and faster along your shaft with her soft supple crotch scales
  250. >Suddenly you feel an immense hot and wet slit begin to open on your length
  251. >Ssahkar moans as her whole body shudders, her little claws dig into your sides
  252. >You look down to see a hot reddish pink horizontal slit open as the air begins to fill with a pungent feminine reptilian musk
  253. >Ssahkar is panting heavily as she blushes with embarrassment holding a claw to her face and looking away from you
  254. >You sit up and begin to kiss her neck and toned chest as you run your hands along the ridges of her back whispering “its, ok”
  255. >Her face immediately lights up as she is filled with renewed vigor
  256. >She nibbles your right ear before grabbing your base and inserting your rod into her warm, slick, depths
  257. >The little kobold is tight but her cloaca takes the majority of your length with ease >You help guide the last couple inches as she gasps and hisses
  258. > Her body reels in delight
  259. >”You humans really are big and warm” She giggled as she brings her claws onto your shoulders, resting her head against your chest
  260. >She begins to ride up and down on your dick as you assist the little kobold with your hands on her hips
  261. >It didn’t take the little creature long to get into a rhythm
  262. > She begins making large sweeping motions up and down with a wet smacking noise as her cloaca forces its way around your girth over and over again
  263. >”Oh gods Briggs, fuck me! fuck me! I am not going to last much longer” The little Kobold said through short breaths
  264. >You wrap one arm around the back of the kobold and roll over so that she is facing you in the missionary position with her back on the furs of the bed, clawed feet in the air
  265.
  266. >You loom over her hoping that you don’t hurt the little kobold
  267. >She giggles and hisses as she runs her claws through your chest hair
  268. >Your cock throbs as the tips of her claws etch around your chest muscles
  269. >You begin thrusting into the kobold’s inflamed cloaca on the verge of orgasm
  270. >”Fuck me harder! Come on ‘mountain man’ you can fell trees all day but you can’t give a little ‘bold an orgasm” She said teasing
  271. >That sends you over the edge; you began to thrust into Ssahkar with all your strength, slamming into her with the entire weight of your body
  272. >Ssahkar hisses and screams in pleasure as her claws dig deep into the flesh of your arms, making blood roll down your biceps
  273. >”Cum inside me! Cum in me human! Fill my clutch with your seed” said Ssahkar through gasps of air
  274. >Your seed bursts into every corner of Ssahkars warm cloaca, filling the little kobold to the brim as both your collective juices drip down onto the bed
  275. >The kobold writhes in pleasure as you can feel her walls contracting and undulating around you
  276. >Once Ssahkar’s orgasm begins to fade you unmount her and lay down in the bed panting
  277. >”So…..how was it? Did I do ok?” Ssahkar said in an embarrassed tone
  278. “Ok? You did amazing! That was amazing! You were amazing!” You say head still swirling as you entwine you left hand with her right claw
  279. >Ssahkar blushes and covers her face with her left claw “Come on, you don’t mean that…. I couldn’t have been that good”
  280. >”What? Why?”
  281. >Blushing even harder and covering her eyes “because…I am a………was…a virgin”
  282. >”Gods………my first time…ever..…is with a human. I wonder what my family would say if they could see me now.”
  283. >You wrap your arms around Ssahkar and hold her close in a cuddling position
  284. ”Ssahkar, none of that matters, I just hope you had as good a time as I did”
  285. >Ssahkar runs her claw gently under your chin “thank you Briggs, it was wonderful, better than I ever would have thought.”
  286. >Both of you fall silent as you drift off into sleep, cuddling in the afterglow
  287. >You swear just before you nod off that you hear Ssahkar mutter “better…than….I….deserve”
  288. >The air in the cabin hangs heavy with the scents of smoke, sweat, moss, and musk
  289.
  290. >A wolf howls in the distance echoing off the walls of the cabin
  291. >You begin to wake up, still wrapped around the sleeping Kobold, her muzzle buried in the crux of your arm.
  292. >Ssahkar has a large smile across her face as she snuggles herself deeper into your arm
  293. >You try as slowly as possible to untangle yourself from the little kobold as she mumbles in displeasure
  294. >You climb out of bed and tuck the covers around Ssahkar
  295. >She mumbles some more before ducking her body under the covers, curling up into a mound
  296. >You sit down on the trunk at the foot of the bed, putting on all of your gear and giant leather coat
  297. >You wipe sweat from your brow
  298. *Damn it’s actually really hot in here
  299. >You pick up a large shovel from the corner of the cabin and open the front door
  300. >The morning light burns your eyes as the smell of wet grass and bark flood your nostrils
  301. >You can hear the birds chirping overhead as the air is filled with the sound of melting snow, dripping from tree branches
  302. >Almost all of the snow has already melted, sitting barely above your ankles
  303. >You begin to enthusiastically shovel away the last of the snow as you make your way down to the main road
  304. >After about two hours of shoveling you finally make it to the main road, which is already cleared of snow
  305. >”What are you doing out here?” a small voice from behind you demands
  306. >You turn around to see Ssahkar, all dressed up in her gear and leather jacket, arms crossed
  307. >”I am shoveling snow, what are you doing out of bed?”
  308. >Ssahkar’s eyes dart all around as she jumps at the noise of playing squirrels in the distance “nothing, I just don’t think its safe for you out here, please just come back to the cabin”
  309.
  310. >You laugh, “uhhhh, I’ve lived here my whole life little kobold, I think I know when its safe to be outside”
  311. >Ssahkar huffs a large cloud of breath into the morning air and stomps her foot, “I am being serious, Briggs”
  312. >You lean both your arms on the shovel stuck into the dirt, “I am sure you are” you say mockingly
  313. >”Dammit! Listen to me! You need to get back inside now!” Ssahkar demands, digging her claws into your right arm as she tries to pull you back towards the cabin
  314. >”Ow! what the hell is your problem?” You say pulling the kobolds claws out of your arm
  315. >In the distance you can hear the sound of horse reigns and wooden wheels clattering over the rocky main road
  316. >A jet-black passenger carriage pulled by four black horses rides slowly over the horizon towards you on the main road
  317. > The driver is covered head to toe in a dark black robe with a hood covering its face
  318. ”Hey look the first travelers we’ve seen in days!” you begin to wave to them
  319. >”Dammit! You idiot, stop! We need to leave now! Back to the cabin, now!” Ssahkar grabs your waving hand and tries with all her strength to pull you towards the cabin again
  320. ”What has gotten into you?” you demand
  321. >“They’re coming to kill you!” Ssahkar said still pulling your arm
  322. “Wait!?!? What?!? What did I do!?”
  323. >You can hear the carriage coming closer, its wooden wheels crushing loose rocks
  324. >”Nothing....you’ve done nothing. Briggs I need you to trust me…..please?” the kobold begs
  325. >You stare into the Kobold’s large golden eyes and take one last look over at the approaching carriage in the far distance
  326. “I….I trust you”
  327. >You scoop the kobold up with one arm and begin to run as fast as you can back to the cabin
  328. >You slam open the cabin door, placing Ssahkar and the shovel on the ground before slamming it shut again and locking it with the heavy iron bar
  329. >You turn around, looming over Ssahkar as she sits on the floor, “You need to tell me what is going on right now, no more secrets” you yell at her
  330. >Ssahkar just sits silently as tears begin to streak down from her big eyes
  331. ”Ssahkar, please tell me. I need to know, who are those people. Who is coming to kill me? Why?”
  332. >”If I tell you, your going to hate me, I am…..I am not a good person Briggs” Ssahkar says sniffling
  333. >You take both of the kobolds claws in your hands and stare into her wet golden reptile eyes
  334. “I promise you that no matter what you say, I will not hate you, please you have to trust me”
  335. >The kobold is silent for a moment staring into your eyes before saying in a low voice “ok”
  336. >You let go off he kobolds claws as she wipes the tears out of her eyes
  337. >”I…..I…..I was sent here to kill you” Ssahkar mutters not looking you in the face
  338. *Well…….I wasn’t expecting that…….
  339. “So that’s why you showed up at my door, I thought you were just another traveler trying to escape the blizzard”
  340. >Ssahkar just nodded her head
  341. ”And that’s why you have all those knives in jacket sleeves. All the “guilds” you hopped around with as a child. All the details you omitted from your stories……Your an assassin aren’t you?”
  342. >Ssahkars eyes went wide as she stares up into your face “Yes, yes I am. I was abducted at a young age from my family by a powerful assassins guild. They trained me and sent me on missions all through the region to their various hidden branches. Kobolds often make good disposable members to a guild and it’s the only life I’ve ever known. I knew what would happen to me if I refused to help them. I’d have my throat slit and body dumped in a gutter before I knew what hit me”
  343. “Ok, so why am I so important that I have people hunting me?”
  344. >”The two adjacent towns you trade lumber with hired my guild to have you killed. Your family has had rights over the hundreds of miles of timber in between the two cities for generations. They wanted you gone so that they could split up the immense forest for their own logging operations. Your sitting on a gold mine, and all your neighbors want you dead. Understand?”
  345. “What about those people on the carriage?”
  346. >”Those black hooded characters you saw? They’re members of the guild. They’re supposed to pick your body up from here after my mission was completed and the snow melted. “
  347. > Ssahkar starts to nervously twiddle her claws “So, You knew about the knives this whole time and didn’t say anything? You really are naïve aren’t you?”
  348. >You huff and cross your arms “yeah, I guess I am. But dammit, I am just trying see the good in people. This world so full of danger and hate, I want people to see some good in the world, even if its just a friendly face. Is that so wrong?” you say trailing off ,“Besides I wasn’t really worried, I doubt those tiny things could take me down”
  349. >”They’re poison tipped throwing knives, if one of them caught you in any part of your body you’d be dead in minutes” Ssahkar said nonchalantly
  350. *well….shit…..
  351. >”If that snow hadn’t fallen on me……you’d be dead” the kobold barely got out before pressing the palms of her claws to her eyes and sobbing
  352. >”You’re the first person in my life to show me any kindness. To treat me like a person instead of street vermin……..and I almost killed you. Throw me out! Gut me! I deserve it……….Oh Gods the things I’ve done in the name of this guild…you must think I am a monster. Go on! Do your worst!”
  353. >You bend down and wrap your arms around the kobold “I promised I wouldn’t hurt you remember? No matter what. Ssahkar, I don’t care about your past, you were scared, we all act crazy when were scared.”
  354. >”I just…..I don’t want to live this life anymore. I don’t want to be a monster anymore…..” she says
  355. “You’re not a monster Ssahkar” you say before kissing her on the muzzle, “I love you”
  356. >Ssahkar grabs your face with both her claws and embraces you in a deep kiss
  357. >You feel warmth course through every vein in your body as you put your hand around her waist
  358. >Ssahkar finishes the kiss before leaning back to look you deeply in the eyes
  359. >”I love you too you loveable idiot” Ssahkar says as she presses her forehead to yours
  360.
  361. BANG BANG BANG BANG
  362.
  363. >”Ssahkar! Open up yah fuckin scaly runt! We need to deliver the package pronto! Ssahkar! Don’t make us break this fuckin door down like last time!” a gravely voice yelled from the other side of the door as a heavy fist pounded the wood
  364. >”Gimme a second! I just got to unbar the door!” Ssahkar said
  365. “What are you fucking kidding me?” you whisper
  366. >Ssahkar puts a finger to your mouth and hers before pointing to your large double-sided ax and then to the left side of the door
  367. >You nod, picking up the ax and moving to the left side of the door as silently as possible
  368. >As fast as she can, Ssahkar takes all of the remaining clothes and blankets lying around and puts them under the covers on the bed before shaping them to look like a body
  369. *Gods….I hope you know what your doing
  370. >Ssahkar goes over to the door and just barely manages to push the large iron bar off its hinges as it clatters to the floor
  371. >The door bursts open, nearly hitting Ssahkar in the face
  372. >You were not so lucky, as the heavy wooden door slams into your body; you bite down on your lip until it bleeds trying your best not to yell
  373. >”Fuck, it reeks of dead swamp lizard in here. Anyway, Where is the package, scaly? You’re not going to let us down again hmmm? Especially not on such an easy mission hmmm? ” The same gravely voice spat with irritation and disgust as the three identically black robed figures glide into the room. Without any instruction, the figure on the left glides over to the left of the cabin near the fireplace as the right figure moves to the right side in front of Briggs. The tallest figure in the center with the gravely voice glides silently up to Ssahkar
  374.
  375. >”No, Master Krell, Everything went according to plan. The package is right over there” Ssahkar says bowing to the tall man while pointing to the bed
  376. >Krell noiselessly glides over to the bed, leaning over the ‘body’
  377. >”Huh? I would have thought the man Briggs would have been bigger….interesting” Master Krell said
  378. >”Yessir that is interesting. Veryyyyy interestingggg” says Ssahkar winking over at you multiple times
  379. >Before you can do anything, the master swipes aside the blankets revealing a pile of musky smelling, dirty, clothes
  380. >”What the fuck? What is this you scum! Explain yourself! Now!” Master Krell screams in Ssahkars face
  381. *Shit!
  382. >You run up and bring the ax down into the right figure directly in front of you
  383. >The heavy blade enters its head with a sickening crunch as its skull is immediately cleaved in two
  384. >You try to pull the ax back out but its firmly lodged in the figure as the body drops forward to ground
  385. >Master Krell turns around and quickly runs towards you, dagger drawn from beneath the robe
  386. >Ssahkar pulls out a knife from her sleeve but just as she is about to throw it at Krell’s back, the left figure grabs her arm “You fucking traitor, I knew we couldn’t trust vermin” it says in a deep grumbling voice
  387. >You back up and grab the iron bar from the door off the ground, swinging it up in time to catch Krells blade as he brings it down towards you
  388. >Krell’s blade goes flying as he screams holding his bleeding hand
  389. >The left figure holding Ssahkar pulls a curved blade from its robe and swings it down at the kobold
  390. >Ssahkar jumps up and wraps her mouth around the figures sword arm, biting as hard as the little kobold could muster
  391. >The figure drops the sword screaming as the sound of splintering bone echoes through the small cabin
  392.
  393. >You run up to Krell, cracking him across the face with the iron bar
  394. >With a loud snap, bits of blood and teeth rocket out from under the hood as he falls backward on to the floor
  395. >The figure in Ssahkar’s grasp screams in pain as it begins to punch the kobold in the ribs and face
  396. >Ssahkar manages to pull a knife from her sleeve between blows
  397. >Ssahkar swings up lodging the knife deep into the figures ribs as she releases him from her mouth
  398. >”You bitch! You fucking scum bitch!” The figure yells as it pulls the knife from its side
  399. >It tries to punch at Ssahkar but crumples to the ground dead mid swing
  400. >Krell crawls backwards as you approach him, about to bring the iron bar down on his head
  401. >Krell pulls out a small black ball and throws it at you
  402. >It hits you square in the chest, exploding with blinding light, and an ear shattering bang as it the cabin is filled with thick black smoke
  403. > Your head and eyes reel in pain as you swing blindly with the bar
  404. >Nothing, Krell’s gone
  405. >You hear Ssahkar scream
  406. “Ssahkar!” you yell out
  407. >You see a black figure rush past you and out the door as the last of the smoke vanishes
  408. >”Briggs! If you ever want to see your vermin bitch again drop the bar and come out with your hands in front of you!” Krell bellowed from outside
  409.
  410. >You drop the bar and make your way over to the cabin door but before you do you pick a hatchet off the wood pile near the fireplace and tuck it into the back of your belt
  411. >You step out into the daylight, head still ringing slightly from the bomb
  412. >In front of you is Krell with a dagger to Ssahkar’s neck
  413. >Ssahkar’s face looks bloodied, her claws and feet shackled
  414. >”Good. Come on yah beast fucker. Put these around your legs and hands and I let her go.” Said Krell as he threw two short metal chains with locks on them towards you
  415. >”Come on Briggs! Don’t do it you idiot! He’ll have us both killed!” screamed Ssahkar
  416. >”Shut up you bitch” said Krell punching her in the back
  417. >Ssahkar falls over in pain before Krell picks her back off the ground by the back of the neck
  418. >You slip the shackles over your feet and hands, clicking their locks into place
  419. >”Very good” Krell growls before punching Ssahkar across the face sending her into the snow
  420. >Krell begins to run towards you pulling a short sword out from the robes with his free hand
  421. >He’s only a couple feet away as he brings the sword up over his head
  422. Gotta make this count
  423. >You twist to your right with your tied hands and slide the hatchet by its head out of your belt
  424. >In one swift move you flip the hatchet over to its handle, bringing it over your head with both hands and throw it at Krell
  425. >It lands square in his chest with a loud meaty thump
  426. >Krell topples over but keeps himself from falling by jamming his sword in the ground
  427. >You think he’s just about to fall but he gets back up and starts hobbling towards you
  428. >He brings the sword up over his head once more
  429. “AHHHHH!”
  430. >Krell drops the sword behind his back as he looks down to his left
  431. >Ssahkar digs her knife deeper into Krell’s side before falling back
  432. >Krell rips out the daggar, taking a step before wobbling as his balance begins to fade
  433. >Krell falls to his knees grasping out at Ssahkar “You stupid scaly bitch”
  434. >Krell falls face flat into the snow dead
  435. >Ssahkar hops over to Krell’s dead body and rifles through his robes pulling out a key
  436. >She spits on his body before unlocking her chains and walking over to you
  437. >She unlocks your chains and you cast them off into the snow
  438. >Ssahkar pounces on top of you, straddling your chest as she kisses you
  439. >She gives you a playful smack across the face
  440. >”That was some risky shit! You could have easily got us both killed” Ssahkar says glaring at you, her arms crossed
  441. >You begin to laugh, “I was the local ax throwing champion three years in a row, that fucker wasn’t getting away”
  442. >Ssahkar presses down on your shoulders with her claws “What happened to mister ‘sees the best side in everyone? Huh?”
  443. >You flick some snow at Ssahkar’s face as she yelps from the cold ice touching her skin
  444. >”You giant bastard” She says lightly smacking your chest as you bellow a deep laugh
  445. >Ssahkar follows soon after, laughing along with you as she lies down on your chest
  446. >After the laughter dies down, you both just hold each other in silence
  447. ”So, what do we do now?” you say brushing your hand up and down her back
  448. >”I dunno, I haven’t really thought that through……can you just hold me to your warmth” says Ssahkar
  449. “Now that I think I can manage” you say as you wrap your arms tightly around Ssahkar pulling her close to your chest
  450. >You both feel each other’s heartbeat as the chilly air lightly flows around you
  451. > The forest is silent except for the snow gracefully toppling down from the canopies around you
  452.
  453. (Epilogue)
  454.
  455. >”Are you sure your ok with leaving? I mean its been in your family for generations” Ssahkar squeeked as preserve jars topple out from the cabinet she is digging through
  456. “Yeah, I think I’ve overstayed my welcome here, the last thing I want is to live between two cities actively trying to kill me. Wouldn’t you agree?” you say pulling a large travel backpack over your shoulders
  457. >”Yeah, they’ll send other assassins once they realize Krell and the others never came back. Huh, I guess you really do only have one option.” Ssahkar said sadly as she stuffs jerky and other food into a backpack on the bed
  458. “Yeah they’re really gonna be pissed when they find out I am selling the land off to their rival a little further south. It’s a shitty slaver industrial city named Din. When all three tear themselves apart over the land grab…well lets just say things are going to get interesting”
  459. >Ssahkar looks over at you with a grin on her face “ Briggs that’s so devilish, what happened to my big softy?”
  460. ”Still the same big softy, but right now I am just trying to get a little revenge. I mean, they did just try a have me and you killed. Besides, all three of these cities deal in a lot of shady shit, I think it’s about time someone threw a wrench into their cogs. So you got everything you need?”
  461. >”I think so” says Ssahkar as she struggles to pull the heavy backpack off the bed
  462. >You take some of the heavy items out of her bag and put them into yours before Ssahkar manages to crush herself under the weight of the bag
  463. >”Thanks” she mutters slinging the pack over her shoulders.
  464. >Both of you walk out the front door of the cabin as the sun begins to rise over the horizon. The golden light shining off of the new blades of wet grass and weeds poking persistently through the last centimeter of melted snow
  465. >You take one last look back at the cabin as the last of the snow falls from the fringes of the roof
  466. >”You ready to go?” Ssahkar says entwining her little right claw in your left hand
  467. >”Yeah, lets go find us a new home”
