  1. 1st NC, CO. B Drill Schedule (1st Sgt. Stonewall)
  2.
  3. -company is formed in single file in front of Flags by 1st SGT
  4.
  5. -roll call (explanation: company forms at the “order arms” position. When name and rank is called, member responds with “here” and returns to “shoulder arms.”
  6.
  7. -1SGT gives report to CPT, who then takes over formation (expl: after roll call is completed, 1st SGT performs an About Face, CPT presents himself in front of 1SGT. 1SGT says, “All present/accounted for,” and salutes. CPT returns salute, and 1SGT falls out. CPT take command of formation.)
  8.
  9. -Introductions (CPT introduces himself, 1SGT, 1st LT, & SGTs.)
  10.
  11. -(Space allotted for CPT’s remarks. Basically, anything you wish to say, outside of training, say here.)
  12.
  13. -CPT gives command of the formation to 1SGT (call out, “1SGT, POST.” 1SGT returns to front, and CPT says, “Conduct Drill, 1St SGT.” Salutes exchange, and CPT falls to the rear.) This will allow you to observe the company in motion as we go over basic drill and commands and allow me to gauge our member’s capabilities are as far as basic competence.
  14.
  15. -Individual movement drills- Quick Time/Double Quick/Charge(Sprint). Shoulder Arms, Ready Arms, and Present/Aim(Special care given to this since some think “Ready” means “Aim,” and it messes with effective aiming.) Left, Right, and About face. Left & Right Oblique. “Kneeling and when to do it.” Fix Bayonets, Charge Bayonets, and firing from melee mode.
  16.
  17. -Basic company movement drills. Forward March, File By Left & Right, Rear March, Left & Right Flank and 2 Ranks. 1SGT will march company around the small area in front of the camp until satisfied that line is competent.
  18.
  19. -Command is returned to CPT (formally or informally, really doesn’t matter at this point)
  20.
  21. -CPT takes Company on extended maneuver around the camp, ends in the firing range.
  22.
  23. -Company is dispersed to fire at the 2 farthest targets. Independent marksmanship.
  24.
  25. -1SGT & CPT act as moving targets for 5 minutes
  26.
  27. -Company is reformed, marched back to flags.
  28.
  29. -Quick After-Action Report conducted, closing remarks from CPT & 1SGT.
  30.
  31. -Company dismissed. (Free-for-all encouraged and endorsed at this point. CPT & 1SGT should both be sure to have fully loaded six-shooters before engaging, however.)
  32.
  33. This will cover all of our basics, get the company used to working together and keep from being too overwhelming and tedious for the first go around. With subsequent drills, we can work on specific battle techniques and maneuvers to integrate, but for right now our best bet is to keep it simple.
