No Doubts (ChipFic)

>Lincoln Loud wasn't sure how to feel
>Surprise at the fact that Leni had gone through the entire adoptions process on her own
>Anger at the fact that she didn't think to consult anyone about it until a week before she brought a new child home
>Curiosity at the little girl peaking at him from behind his sister's leg
>But most of all he felt doubt that this could work out
>"Bed, say hello to your father" Leni gently coaxed the small girl to her front and knelt down, hugging her from the back
>Leni whispered in her ear "Everything will be ok, he's the nicest person ever, and he really knows how to be a dad"
>Bed was trying to look up at the man in front of her, but she kept averting her eyes, she was starting to shake
>Lincoln felt the awkwardness in the room, the girl was intimidated by him, and to be honest he was intimidated by her as well
>He was no stranger to fatherhood, and he liked to think that he had a good handle on it by now
>But the scared little girl in front of his was a stranger, he'd never held her as a baby, changed her diapers, eased her to sleep when she woke up in the middle of the night
>He had done that for every single one of his kids over the years, and formed a bond of father and child
>Would they be able to form that bond?  Could she open up to anyone but her mother at this point?

>Lincoln knelt down in front of her, making the small girl jump and shiver, he smiled at her as she stared at the floor "Hello"
>"Go on" Leni was smiling as she rubbed the girl's shoulders, and Bed finally managed to look up at the man
>Lincoln tilted his head and tried to look as friendly as possible, he extended a hand and the girl looked at it with curiosity
>"Touch his hand sweetie" Bed found courage in her new mother's words, and placed her shaky hand in her father's palm and she gave a small smile as she looked up at him
>Lincoln felt his heart swell and his eyes water, there was no doubt in his mind now
>The tiny girl yelped as she was suddenly scooped up in a hug and she began to struggle, calming down when she felt the warmth of her mother on her back when the woman joined the hug
>"I'm your new dad sweetheart, no one will ever hurt you, you'll always be warm, you'll never be hungry, you'll never be lonely, this is your home now"
>Bed began to cry softy as she weakly returned the hug, clutching on his shirt
>No doubt at all, this was his daughter
