- <Faerzen_Norstov> Sam: They point to the book you were just reading and then to the bookcase, and float over.
- <Faerzen_Norstov> "Yes, you have indeed made it quite clear that this particular bookcase is of interest! That is precisely why I am in transit to that precise location! Is it so difficult to provide an explanation into your motives behind this? What is the significance of this bookshelf? Does it contain yet another book of great importance that you are not giving me the opportunity to read?"
- * Faerzen_Norstov continues to make his way to the bookcase, examining what subject matter the bookshelf seems to contain, and what section of this Forbidden Area of the library it is in

- <Samstrel> If you look to the side of the bookcase, you see a small compartment with an indent to allow you to open it.
- <Faerzen_Norstov> ((info on the bookcase?))
- <Samstrel> The bookcase is normal compared to the others, and is at the end of a row
- <Faerzen_Norstov> ((faerzen asked about what section it was in/what subject the books in it were on))
- <Samstrel> The books on it, all look like journals, or photo albums.
- <Samstrel> Some are more worn in, and some are newer looking.
- * Faerzen_Norstov raises an eyebrow and pulls out one of the photo albums
- <Samstrel> You see various pictures of you.
- <Samstrel> From when you were a baby, to a toddler, and to a child,
- * Faerzen_Norstov gasps in surprise, dropping the book on the ground and stepping back
- <Samstrel> As you flip pages, you see your high school year book pictures.
- <Faerzen_Norstov> "HOLY JURGEN FUCK"
- * Faerzen_Norstov glares at the creatures
- <Faerzen_Norstov> "WHAT IS THIS PLACE?????"
- <Faerzen_Norstov> "I do not need a reminder of the bygone days of happiness that once were! It is already painfully obvious those days are long gone, and I hardly need this sick game to remind me of that! What do you want with me?"
- <Faerzen_Norstov> "Is this what you wanted? Simply to shove my past in my face and remind me of the pain of its loss?"
- <Samstrel> They point at the compartment on the side.
- <Faerzen_Norstov> "Yes, I know that there is some sort of mechanism in the side of the bookshelf whose most probably outcome upon interacting with it is to reveal some additional course of action or information! That is not hard to deduce! You are still failing to answer my question!!!"
- <Faerzen_Norstov> "Who are you, and why do you know all of these things? How can you know who I am, why I am here, and what I am to do? Why do you even care???"
- * Faerzen_Norstov bends down and picks up the dropped album
- <Samstrel> They look at each other, and then look at you and speak a particularly odd language.
- <Samstrel> They seem to not know how to speak your language.
- <Faerzen_Norstov> *Of course. A language barrier. Simply being able to communicate would be too easy.*
- * Faerzen_Norstov flips to the end of the photo album to see where it stops
- <Samstrel> The last page has a picture of you, as a toddler, with your mother and father at your family home.
- * Faerzen_Norstov stares at the page
- <Samstrel> Nothing happens while you stare
- * Faerzen_Norstov looks back to the bookshelf at the journals, trying to see who they might have been written by
- <Samstrel> Nothing indicates who they are written by.
- <Samstrel> Though, you recognize the handwriting.
- * Faerzen_Norstov picks a couple of them at random and checks on the front and inside the covers
- <Samstrel> They look normal.
- <Samstrel> No information you want though.
- * Faerzen_Norstov flips through a couple of the pages to see what sort of subject matter the journals are written about before putting them back on the shelf
- <Samstrel> They look like various journal entries about life and occasional information about teaching.
- <Samstrel> Mostly computer science.
- <Samstrel> Also, some reiterated info on the Nothing.
- * Faerzen_Norstov makes a mental note to return later and find more potential connections to his mother
- * Faerzen_Norstov puts the books back on the shelf before turning to the creatures
- <Faerzen_Norstov> "Have you met any other humans like me before now?"
- <Samstrel> They nod.
- <Faerzen_Norstov> "Did they perhaps give you instructions about what to do upon meeting me?"
- <Faerzen_Norstov> "Is that why you are doing all of this?"
- <Samstrel> They nod.
- * Faerzen_Norstov gestures in front of his glasses a couple times to pull up one of his favorite pictures of his mother, showing her mid-laugh in the middle of hugging his father
- * Faerzen_Norstov gestures to project the picture as a hologram in front of him
- <Faerzen_Norstov> "Was it perchance this particular human?"
- * Faerzen_Norstov points to his mother
- <Samstrel> They nod, again.
- <Faerzen_Norstov> "When was the first time you met her? Earlier than the past day or so?"
- <Samstrel> They nod.
- <Faerzen_Norstov> "How long ago was the first time you met her? Less than a year ago?"
- <Samstrel> They nod.
- <Faerzen_Norstov> "Less than a month ago?"
- <Samstrel> They shake their heads.
- <Faerzen_Norstov> "Okay so you first met her more than a month ago. Do you know how she was able to arrive here? It is my understanding that at that time, she was soundly on earth. Does she have access to time travel like someone else I would prefer not to mention?"
- <Samstrel> They look at each other and then you and shrug.
- <Faerzen_Norstov> "Well this is most perplexing I must say. Did you meet her more than once?"
- <Samstrel> They nod.
- <Faerzen_Norstov> "Recently?"
- <Samstrel> They nod, again.
- <Samstrel> And then point at the compartment.
- * Faerzen_Norstov smiles, thinking that, just perhaps, there may be a glimmer of hope in reuniting with his mother
- * Faerzen_Norstov walks over to the compartment and inspects it
- <Faerzen_Norstov> "Thank you for actually being surprisingly informative. I do appreciate it."
- <Samstrel> They nod.
- <Samstrel> And point.
- <Samstrel> Like usual.
- <Faerzen_Norstov> ((* Faerzen_Norstov walks over to the compartment and inspects it))
- <Samstrel> It has a slot for you to slide your finger in and open it.
- * Faerzen_Norstov carefully does so, ready to quickly withdraw his finger at any sign of trouble
- <Samstrel> A lever pops out for you to push down.
- * Faerzen_Norstov pulls the lever
- <Samstrel> As you do so, the bookcase begins to shift, and open like a door.
- <Samstrel> It looks identical on the side away from you.
- * Faerzen_Norstov peers through the door
- <Samstrel> You see a hallway, with doors on the sides.
- <Samstrel> It looks eerily familiar.
- * Faerzen_Norstov turns to the creatures
- <Faerzen_Norstov> "What is this place?"
- <Samstrel> The same decor and wallpaper as your childhood home.
- <Samstrel> They shrug. They seem to not go too close to the bookcase.
- <Faerzen_Norstov> "What have you been informed to have me do here? Is there a particular reason you are avoiding this place? You do not seem terribly keen to locate yourself in the vicinity of this shelf of books."
- <Samstrel> They float away. They seem to have served their purpose.
- * Faerzen_Norstov hesitantly steps through the threshold into the hallway, much more intrigued with the current environment than the two creatures
- <Samstrel> Nothing interesting happens, really.
- <Samstrel> There is a door directly to your right.
- * Faerzen_Norstov walks down the hallway, looking for where the set of stairs would be in his home
- <Samstrel> There doesn't seem to be any that you can see in this hallway.
- <Samstrel> It isn't an exact replica, just a decor copy.
- <Faerzen_Norstov> "Intriguing."
- * Faerzen_Norstov looks around to see how many doors there are and where they are placed with respect to each other
- <Samstrel> There are 3 doors.
- <Samstrel> One on the right, and two on the left.
- * Faerzen_Norstov quietly walks over to the door on the left closest to the entrance he came in and puts his ear to the door, listening
- <Samstrel> It is quiet.
- * Faerzen_Norstov knocks
- <Samstrel> No response.
- * Faerzen_Norstov quietly opens the door and peers inside
- <Samstrel> It is dark, and looks empty. How odd.
- * Faerzen_Norstov decaptchalogues his Flashicope (Cd - CADMIUM) and shines it in the room to better see inside
- <Samstrel> It is, indeed empty.
- * Faerzen_Norstov frowns slightly, before closing the door quietly
- * Faerzen_Norstov turns and makes his way to the other door on the same side of the hall and puts his ear to the door
- <Samstrel> You hear typing.
- * Faerzen_Norstov quietly looks to see if there is a keyhole or something to look through
- <Samstrel> There is not.
- <Samstrel> As you begin to look, the door opens.
- * Faerzen_Norstov raises his hand to knock, but jumps back as the door opens
- <Samstrel> "Faerzen?"
- <Samstrel> "Oh my lord."
- <Samstrel> She comes to you with arms spread.
- <Samstrel> She looks familiar.
- * Faerzen_Norstov raises an eyebrow at being addressed, looking at who it is on the other side of the door
- <Samstrel> It is your mother.
- * Faerzen_Norstov 's mouth is completely agape, at a total loss for words
- <Faerzen_Norstov> "I....."
- <Samstrel> She begins to cry.
- <Faerzen_Norstov> "I...... I.. th--"
- <Samstrel> "I know you may not believe this is me. That the game is playing tricks on you."
- * Faerzen_Norstov attempts to calm his breathing, but only mildly succeeding
- <Samstrel> She runs back, and grabs a pin, and pricks her finger.
- <Samstrel> You see human blood come out.
- <Samstrel> "It's me, Faerzen. I'm so glad you found me."
- <Faerzen_Norstov> "I..... Ho..."
- * Faerzen_Norstov 's eyes lose focus for a moment
- <Faerzen_Norstov> "I..... thought you were dead..... again."
- <Samstrel> "I didn't die."
- <Samstrel> "I was injured, and two grey creatures brought me to the library outside the door and fixed me up"
- <Samstrel> "They have been helping me, though I had no way to contact you. I don't message much like you do."
- <Samstrel> "I've been writing journals, hoping you would find them."
- <Faerzen_Norstov> "You..... You still...." *swallows* "could be a figment of this game for all I know....... but right now I honestly don't give a flying fuck because even if you are oh god do I need a hug right now."
- * Faerzen_Norstov quickly pulls off the black feathered mask from his face, instead looping the strap around his shoulder, and basically runs/collapses into his mother in a fiercly tight embrace
- <Samstrel> She hugs you back.
- <Samstrel> "Any questions you have, you can ask."
- <Faerzen_Norstov> "I don't care"
- * Faerzen_Norstov embraces her more tightly, and subconsciously wraps his wings around the two of them
- * Faerzen_Norstov sighs shakily, still trying to keep his emotions under control
- <Samstrel> She walks you to the room she came out of.
- <Samstrel> There is a loveseat, and a desk with a computer.
- * Faerzen_Norstov refuses to let go of her, and is basically dragged into the room
- * Faerzen_Norstov , despite his best efforts, begins shaking
- <Faerzen_Norstov> "I....... I th-thought.... I'd n-never be able to do this again....."
- * Faerzen_Norstov closes his eyes tightly, losing himself in the embrace despite trying to keep it together
- <Samstrel> She sits you down.
- * Faerzen_Norstov refuses to let go of her
- <Samstrel> "I know you must have questions, but I will answer them in due time."
- <Samstrel> "You have a quest to finish, Faerzen."
- <Faerzen_Norstov> "I don't care"
- <Faerzen_Norstov> "I really do not care right now."
- <Samstrel> "Faerzen, you should care. It is very important."
- <Faerzen_Norstov> "This game is so devoid of happiness and love, and is instead entirely full to the brim of death, hatred, dissension, and fear. I don't care what you say I am going to sit here and hug my mother whom I thought dead!"
- <Faerzen_Norstov> "This is more important to me right now that any sick, twisted game."
- <Samstrel> "Well, that's alright. Considering I am very much alive. But, I cannot leave here. It isn't safe for me."
- <Samstrel> "The two grey creatures were my protectors."
- <Faerzen_Norstov> "This game has forced my hand and limited my actions in so many ways..... I--"
- * Faerzen_Norstov swallows
- <Samstrel> "All I know is that you'll need to come back here at the end of your quest."
- <Samstrel> "From here, I don't really have the answers. Just clues I've gathered."
- * Faerzen_Norstov begins shaking again slightly
- <Samstrel> "Why are you shaking?"
- <Faerzen_Norstov> "Why....... W-why does this game have b-be so...... sadistic?"
- * Faerzen_Norstov sighs, shutting his eyes and enjoying the embrace with his mother
- <Faerzen_Norstov> "T-this...... is all I w-wanted......is... that s-so hard?"
- <Samstrel> "It was the supposed end of the world. It's supposed to be a little sadistic."
- <Samstrel> "Well, you'll have to say goodbye for a while. It is important you finish this quest."
- <Faerzen_Norstov> "I..... do not think you are aware....."
- * Faerzen_Norstov sighs, taking a deep breath and trying to calm himself
- <Faerzen_Norstov> "....s-so many things have h-happened....."
- <Samstrel> "Well, I have been in here for a while. I have not left much."
- <Faerzen_Norstov> "I j-just....."
- <Faerzen_Norstov> "H-how could any of t-this..... EVER amount t-to anything g-good....?"
- <Faerzen_Norstov> "Oh God..... I just thought of Nick...."
- <Samstrel> "Any of what?"
- * Faerzen_Norstov releases his mother and falls back into the chair, burying his face in his hands
- <Samstrel> "Who's Nick?"
- <Faerzen_Norstov> "I....."
- * Faerzen_Norstov squeezes his eyes shut as a tear makes its way down his cheek
- <Faerzen_Norstov> "I.... s-screwed up s-so many t-things...."
- <Samstrel> "He seems important to you."
- <Faerzen_Norstov> "I..... I d-don't even....."
- * Faerzen_Norstov begins crying in earnest, with his face still in his hands
- <Samstrel> "Faerzen, I don't understand."
- * Faerzen_Norstov does not respond
- <Samstrel> She goes to sit down at her desk.
- <Samstrel> "If you can figure out how to communicate with someone on here, by all means."
- <Samstrel> "If this will give you some comfort."
- <Samstrel> "My knowledge in computers seems useless here."
- * Faerzen_Norstov does not respond, but slowly tries to pull himself together
- * Faerzen_Norstov looks up after a moment with reddish eyes
- <Samstrel> She sits and does not respond, trying to respect your crying.
- <Faerzen_Norstov> "Mother.... c-can you not see...... I am in n-no fit state to d-do.... anything right now."
- * Faerzen_Norstov leans to his right, against the side of the chair, trying to straighten out his wings behind him to avoid sitting on them
- <Faerzen_Norstov> "Tell me......"
- <Faerzen_Norstov> "W-why should I even t-try?"
- <Faerzen_Norstov> "Why should I give a single damn about what this game wants!"
- <Samstrel> "Well, I imagine there could be consequences to not finishing this quest."
- <Faerzen_Norstov> "This game has taken so much... hurt so greatly... why should I even consider doing what it says?"
- <Faerzen_Norstov> "I had a female copy of myself MURDERED and die right in my arms!"
- <Faerzen_Norstov> "I SAW her breath her last breath as her body shook"
- <Samstrel> "Oh my. That certainly is traumatic."
- <Faerzen_Norstov> "My best friend went insame and left on a trans-timeline murderous rampage, destroying, killing, raping, sabotaging along the way!"
- <Faerzen_Norstov> "Several teammates of mine have either vanished completely or been outright killed by this game!"
- <Faerzen_Norstov> "One of my teammates has DIED FIVE TIMES"
- <Faerzen_Norstov> "Felt the pain and loss of dying every single one of those times"
- <Samstrel> "Oh my."
- <Faerzen_Norstov> "You vanished without a trace, someone's parents were killed in the entry process, and the game forced me to kill a copy of you when I got here!!!"
- <Samstrel> "Really? I had no idea."
- <Faerzen_Norstov> "Powerful evil spirits have threatened to take control of the game, we're all going insane and shadows keep creeping up on us, and we effectively have a time travelling crazy demon hopping around that could kill any one of us at any time.. or worse!!!"
- <Faerzen_Norstov> "Alternate versions of ourselves were brought here and one of us was forced to kill them in order to gain passage"
- <Faerzen_Norstov> "Another of us has been nearly frozen to death and trapped in a crypt"
- <Faerzen_Norstov> "This game has been so wretched that some people are even considering losing it ON PURPOSE!!!"
- <Faerzen_Norstov> "I condemned one of my own teammates and proved they were legaly insane just so they wouldn't have their SOUL CONSUMED!!!"
- <Faerzen_Norstov> "I AM SO SICK AND TIRED OF THIS SHIT!!!!"
- <Faerzen_Norstov> "It's like nobody even cares enough to do anything but me!"
- <Faerzen_Norstov> "This game just has a predilection to destroy, torture, and ruin, and there isn't a single fucking thing I can do about it!!!"
- * Faerzen_Norstov holds up the black feathered mask
- <Faerzen_Norstov> "My best friend went insane and used this to murder everyone!"
- * Faerzen_Norstov holds up the silver jeweled crown
- <Faerzen_Norstov> "Another of us tried to commit suicide multiple times and was only saved by this, but was driven into emotional mania and depression!"
- <Faerzen_Norstov> "Every single one of these problems has come down to me to solve and I am entirely fucking powerless to do ANYTHING!"
- <Faerzen_Norstov> "I have NO desire to acquiese to this game's desires for my actions, because as I have clearly seen, when the game gets what it wants, there is pain."
- <Faerzen_Norstov> "Sometimes I question even why I am still even alive or how I have not entirely lost my mind from all of this pressure and trauma!!!"
- <Faerzen_Norstov> "Who knows, maybe I already have???"
- <Samstrel> "You have not. Though, you are extremely stressed for good reason."
- <Faerzen_Norstov> "I certainly haven't stopped myself from performing my fair share of entirely fucked up decisions and actions!"
- <Faerzen_Norstov> "I never asked for any of this, but it simply keeps getting worse and worse and there is nothing I can do about it and there is nothing anybody else is trying to do about it either--other than kill themselves or everyone else!!!"
- <Faerzen_Norstov> "I have been figuratively bound by chains and thrown on the railroad tracks, only to be able to watch as everything disintegrates around me before my inevitable failure arrives!"
- <Samstrel> "I do know this quest will not kill you. Though, it is important for you to do this. If you try, you will not fail."
- <Samstrel> She stands up.
- <Samstrel> "Now, go talk to Nick. Or try to."
- * Faerzen_Norstov sits there in silence, still sort of glaring at his mother and breathing heavily from his outburst
- <Faerzen_Norstov> "....What?"
- <Faerzen_Norstov> "What does he have to do with any of this?"
- <Samstrel> "You seem very concerned about him."
- <Faerzen_Norstov> "I know he will be okay now, insofar as I can protect him."
- <Faerzen_Norstov> "The primary reason I am concerned about him is that I was the one who nearly destroyed him in the first place!"
- <Faerzen_Norstov> "I have already done all I can for him and he needs to time away from me at the present moment, I believe."
- <Samstrel> "Oh, I understand."
- <Faerzen_Norstov> "You said you would give me answers, and I apologize in advance for what will likely sound quite harsh. As you can clearly tell this game has..... taken it's toll on me."
- <Faerzen_Norstov> "I never would have thought, even a week ago, that I would have done the things I've done in this game so far."
- <Faerzen_Norstov> "I might not even recognize myself."
- <Samstrel> "I understand. I'll do what I can for you."
- <Faerzen_Norstov> "Okay then tell me this."
- <Faerzen_Norstov> "What in Jurgen fuck is going on down here???"
- <Faerzen_Norstov> "Where are we and what have you been doing?"
- <Faerzen_Norstov> "Those gray creatures said they met you over a month ago!"
- * Faerzen_Norstov pulls out the note from the journal from his bag
- <Samstrel> "This is the only safe place for me now. I have no protection from the monsters."
- <Faerzen_Norstov> "This was written, I presume by yourself, supposedly before any of this happened and yet you seem to express knowledge and understanding that all of this would happen!"
- <Faerzen_Norstov> "I know this is the only safe place for you now, but we have only been playing this game for a couple days, how have you interacted with these creatures for over a month?"
- <Faerzen_Norstov> "How did you know this would happen?"
- <Faerzen_Norstov> "Why didn't you tell me??? I could have been ready!"
- <Samstrel> "I had always had a feeling. I felt like i needed something prepared if it happened."
- <Samstrel> "Your father secretly did all this research. I found it after his passing."
- * Faerzen_Norstov opens his mouth in shock
- <Faerzen_Norstov> ".....WHAT?"
- <Faerzen_Norstov> "H--... How?"
- <Faerzen_Norstov> "He.... was not particularly academic... He ran a fish market! Why would he work on something so significant and yet keep it so secret?"
- <Samstrel> "He did love his video games sometimes, Faerzen."
- <Samstrel> "He heard from a man who bought lots of fish. He began to research it."
- <Faerzen_Norstov> "...ooooookay?"
- * Faerzen_Norstov sits there incredulously, waiting for his mother to continue
- <Samstrel> "I don't know much else. Just what I've told you is mostly from his own research and mine."
- <Faerzen_Norstov> "Well then at least please explain how you have been here, or at least interacted with, these creatures for at least the past month!"
- <Faerzen_Norstov> "How is this possible if we only arrived here a couple days ago?"
