  1. //PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS HEAVILY WIP AND SHOULD NOT BE USED. THESE IDEAS ARE FOR DISCUSSION AND REFINEMENT ONLY AT THIS STAGE//
  2.
  3. Two ideas for reworking gear: Gatcha-compliant and Gatcha-replace.
  4.
  5. Both ideas use the following rules:
  6. Events can give up to 1 free item. The even organizer has discretion on what items are offered, how many, and to whom, but each participant can only take 1 item. Particularly long-running events (such as the Raid on the Sun Devil's Oasis) can give 2 at maximum, chosen from different lists.
  7. Participants can take additional items from the raid list by sacrificing existing slots. (For Gatcha-compliant, one must use a rolled Divine gear of the same type to take a Divine item, and must use a Caloric Stone to take a Mythic item. For Gatcha-replace, each item taken in this way counts towards your allotted number.
  8. This mechanic can also be used specifically for Fairy Dev's Non-Raid Rewards. To take one, you must sacrifice an existing item. This means that certain items on the list (Caliburn, Tyrfing, and Ribbon of Rebirth) are inaccessible. This does not mean that they do not exist. Any unclaimed items from the list are seeded into the New World.
  9.
  10. Gatcha-Compliant:
  11. In addition to the standard 1000 YGG and gatcha rules, at Level 100 each player gains the following:
  12. 15 pieces of Legendary-class or lower gear, this does not require data crystals.
  13. 20 pieces of Relic-class or lower gear, this does not require data crystals.
  14. Up to 30 Legacy- or Top-Class gear, if you care to define them.
  15. In addition, any Level 100 player is assumed to have any High-class or lower gear they might need or care to define, as well as any Legacy-class or lower equipment they may need. This Legacy-class equipment may not and can not have data crystals, it is only Legacy-class for purposes of basic effectiveness.
  16. For every 100 levels of NPCs, a guild gains the following items, that can only be used to gear NPCs:
  17. .5 Divine-Class items (One for every 200 levels)
  18. 2 Legendary-Class items
  19. 4 Relic-Class items
  20. And as many Legacy-Class or lower items as are needed to fully gear the NPCs (no more than 7 items total per NPC)
  21. None of these items require data crystals, this replaces the part of the Guild paste about gearing Guild NPCs.
  22.
  23. Gatcha-Replace:
  24. This ruleset replaces the Cash Shop paste from LazyBone's 3.0 rules, save for the section labeled Equipment - The Art of Artifice, which has been transcribed here for simplicity:
  25. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  26. Equipment - The Art of Artifice
  27. In Yggdrasil, Equipment was ranked based on its Capacity for Data Crystals
  28.
  29. The rankings were:
  30. Low(+1), Medium(+3), High(+5), Top Class(+7), Legacy(+9), Relic(+11), Legendary(+13), Divine(+15)
  31. (For the purposes of the CYOA, they have been assigned a linear Data Level)
  32.
  33. Each Data Level represents one Spell Tier to be embedded in an object
  34. (IE: Low-rank Equipment will have a permanent Tier 1 Spell imbued)
  35.
  36. Every in-game material possessed an inherent Data Level, with rarer materials possessing more
  37. Artificers were able to prime a Crafted Object using In-game Currency
  38. This "unlocked" a Data Level based on the Object's material
  39. They could then imbue a Spell and more currency into the object, creating Equipment
  40.
  41. Creating Equipment through Artifice required a sizeable amount of In-game Currency
  42. As such, Data Crystals were the preferred method
  43.
  44. Data Crystals were dropped from monsters, bosses, loot chests, etc.
  45. They possessed a random magic effect chosen from Yggdrasil's thousands of spells
  46. Using one allowed non-Artificers to turn Crafted Objects directly into Equipment
  47. As increasing a Crafting Skill cost no Levels, nearly all players had at least one
  48. Objects still had an inherent Data Level, but using a Data Crystal was Free
  49. You just needed to find suitable materials to make an Object
  50.
  51. TL;DR Only Artificer Class can permanently imbue spells into weapons and armor
  52. Anyone with a craft Skill can permanently imbue Data Crystals into weapons and armor
  53. Data Crystals are one time Spells in Loot form
  54. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  55. Despite this blurb, Data Crystals are unnecessary in this DLC, your gear is assumed to be filled with Data Crystals long before now.
  56. You may now wear a total of 5 Accessories for free.
  57. A Level 100 player gains the following gear for free:
  58. 1 Mythic-Class gear (20 Data Levels)
  59. 7 Divine-Class gear
  60. 15 Legendary-Class gear
  61. 20 Relic-Class gear
  62. Up to 30 Legacy- or Top-Class gear, if you care to define them.
  63. There's no need to design and define all of these items, it's perfectly okay to leave them nebulous, as long as your standard loot is defined.
  64. In addition, any Level 100 player is assumed to have any High-class or lower gear they might need or care to define, as well as any Legacy-class or lower equipment they may need. This Legacy-class equipment may not and can not have data crystals, it is only Legacy-class for purposes of basic effectiveness.
  65. For every 100 levels of NPCs, a guild gains the following items, that can only be used to gear NPCs:
  66. 1 Divine-Class item
  67. 3 Legendary-Class items
  68. 6 Relic-Class items
  69. And as many Legacy-Class or lower items as are needed to fully gear the NPCs (no more than 7 items total per NPC). this replaces the part of the Guild paste about gearing Guild NPCs.
  70. In addition, any guild with at least 6 members (active or inactive) gains ONE Fallen Leaf of Yggdrasil (Again, transcribed here for clarity:)
  71. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  72. Fallen Leaf of Yggdrasil
  73. Allows you to create a World-Class Item: an Object containing vast power.
  74. Create your WCI as a SAC, without being limited by Racial and Evolution Classes for pre-existing abilities.
  75. The only limitation is abilities can only be in effect if the Item is equipped or being used in some capacity.
  76. Pre-existing abilities can't take 'create a custom spell/special ability' abilities.
  77. It also has a 20 Data Crystal capacity.
  78. SAC-like abilities and Crystals don't have to be thematically cohesive. Don't require Data Crystals to fill.
  79. Having a WCI in possession grants the user World Protection.
  80. Alternatively, make a 40 Data Crystal stat stick.
  81. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  82. You then gain an additional Fallen Leaf of Yggdrasil for your guild every 6 members, to a limit of 4.
