  31. U-turn allowes Togedemaru to pivot out of common switch-ins such as Steelix and Incineroar. Zing Zap hits Water- and Flying-type pokemon like Vaporeon, Slowbro, and Golbat hard enough to force them out. Iron Head allowes Togedemaru to hit Fairy- and Ice-types for super effective damage. For the last slot it has to chose between Super Fang and Toxic. Super Fang allowes you to instantly break down on pokemon you otherwise wouldn’t heavily damage, such as Steelix, Rhydon, Hariyama and even forces bulkier walls like Quagsire to use Recover. Toxic helps deal with more durable physical walls such as Palossand, Seismitoad, Quagsire, Torterra and Slowbro.

  43. Maximized Speed and Physical Attack EVs, a Jolly Nature and holding the Choice Scarf allow Togedemaru to outspeed and revenge kill the vast majority of the Speed boosted metagame to where only Choice Scarfed Delphox, Scyther and Heliolisk could out run it. Lightning Rod is the preferred ability as it prevents Volt Switch pivoting from Rotom, Vikavolt and Heliolisk.

  55. Because Togedemaru’s damage output isn’t too high it’s better to safely pivot around until late game where it can start to revenge kill many set up threats or worn down attackers. U-turn helps provide opportunity for wallbreakers and set-up sweepers to advance your possition. Togedemaru is capable of revenge killing many threats thanks to its STAB attacks, but due to its poor bulk, it cannot directly switch into them. While good, the Steel/Electric-type coverage carries the downside of being unable to hit most Ground-type pokemon such as Steelix, Palossand, Quagsire and Torterra. Resulting in it pivoting around, utilizing Toxic, or using Super Fang.

  67. Offensive Grass- and Ice-ype pokemon such as Decidueye, Sceptile, Dhelmise, Exeggutor-Alola, and Vanilluxe reliably deal with most Ground type pokemon. Defensive ground type answeres in Slowbro and Xatu also pair well with Togdemaru and further appriciate the provided Electric Immunity to safely pivot against Cryogonal, Vikavolt and Volt Switch immunity against Rotom and Heliolisk. Set up sweepers that take advantage of the wide array of Ground-types can abuse this opportunity, previously named Decidueye can utilize Swords Dance but also Bulk Up Scrafty can make use of this. Lastly other pokemon that can give more opportunity to play aggressively such as Sneasel and Medicham can force out and even pile up damage on otherwise too bulky pokemon to directly deal with at a later point.
