Melee is a very technical game and you will need to practice a lot if you want to play correctly.

****FAQ****

Are there only two characters viable?
There is at least 12 characters viable at the highest level of play. You can definitely have fun and become good with any character. The best player here is a game&watch.

Should I use a gamecube controller and where to find it?
You can use your keyboard to play. You are advised to use this mod to play keyboard.

I started with a xbox controller so you can definitely play on slippi whithout one. You are still advised to switch to a gamecube controller if you really interested to continue playing melee seriously (there is no easy way to play melee in tournament with a gamecube controller, most guide on the internet are made for gamecube controler).

What tech skill should I train first ?
You need to get used to the game. Get used to the basic mouvement and to the different characters. If you are a beginner it may be a good idea to do the solo content first (advanture mode, event mode ...).
What tech skill should be trained depend a lot of the character you are playing. Ask on the thread for specific question concerning techskill.

Where to play ?
You can always play unranked on slippi, but you should definitely consider playing with people on the thread. If you are a beginner, you will struggle a bit at the beginning but feel free to ask advice.

How do I flash red when I fail a l cancel in slippi ?
You need to activate the gecko code allowing yourself to do that. Right click on your melee iso then choose properties. Go to gecko code and check the box "Optional flash red when you fail an l-cancel."
