Alternative Rules

SAYA mocked the two men, teasing them over the Rules she had placed upon them, “I know those new Rules sound barbaric, but I'm in a generous mood. So take the offer I'm giving you two. It's much easier to fuck each other senseless than murder each other, isn't it?”
Kai was the first to speak,
“So we either do this...or kill each other.”
“It's sick no matter how you cut it!” Ichirou commented, a strong glare directed at SAYA, “I-I refuse to touch him. It's disgusting.”
“I don't think you're one to talk, you closet case.” Seeing the youth's face go pale made SAYA smirk, “You act like the straightest man alive, but deep down you want to know what it feels like, huh Ichirou? You want someone like Kai here to take you every which way. But you're afraid of what will happen if you like it. You're afraid to admit you have some interest in the same sex.”
“I—“ Before he could even form an argument, SAYA snapped back,
“You can't lie to me, I have your vitals at my fingertips. I know how you felt when you saw him naked. I know how you felt when he held you. And I know how you're feeling right now as I'm breaking that weak facade of yours.”
Ichirou cowered before the hologram, backing away from her as she approached him. Without realizing, he found himself with his back pressed against Kai's body.
“Leave him alone,” he intervened, “His identity is his alone to figure. You have no right to question him when you have no clue what it feels like.”
SAYA couldn't help but cackle at the turn of events,
“Of course the seme comes to save his adorable uke from the bully. It's almost offensively stereotypical of you two.” She shrugged her shoulders before swimming in a circle around the two, “I guess I'll leave you to it then. It'll be up to you now: will one of you leave or will both of you leave?”
She gave one last laugh before vanishing, leaving the two youth in awkward silence. The choice left by the homicidal AI was a no-brainier. But it was clear it would take some egging on in order force the most resistant of the participants to do it.
“Ichirou,” Kai started, “I know you aren't happy about this but—“
“Why do I have to make this choice?!” The teen snapped. His eyes began to redden as he shoved Kai away, “Why can't I keep my head down and just go with the flow. Why do I have to keep doing things that are different from everyone else?!”
“But there's nothing different about finding some men—“
“It is! Everything about this is different! This game, these people, EVERYTHING!” He slammed his fist into Kai's chest, knocking the wind briefly out of him and forcing him against the wall, “I...! I...!”
What little strength he gained from his outburst quickly dissipated, and before long he was sobbing into the Nordic man's chest, “I..I'm tired of people hurting me for what my family did. I want friends that care for me like everyone else. I want to find someone who truly loves me like everyone else. I want that mundane life. I don't want to stand out...” His body trembled with his sobs, his hands clutching Kai's shirt tightly, “I even threw away my own name to try and grant me my wish, but even then I can't help but stand out.”
Kai said nothing, instead choosing to rub soothing circles on the teen's back with his palms,
“Ichirou...”
It was clear now that the agony in Ichirou's mind was of identity, specifically how he fit in with the world. While he didn't know much about the teen's background, he figured that the two of them had more than a few similarities. But unlike Kai, who stood firm against the terrible things said to him and his family following the Committee's fall, Ichirou instead broke under the weight of it and chose to hide himself behind the facade of an ordinary high schooler. But even like that, he wouldn't be able to escape. No, he was far too notorious to escape his old life, just as Kai was unable to escape his father's shadow.
Neither knew how long they held each other, but it was certainly a substantial amount of time because their moment was interrupted with an all-too-familiar announcement.
“Attention, Death Rules will change in 1 hour. Please be compliant with your current Rule or face termination.”
Kai opened the menu on his bracelet's screen and checked his Rule. Sure enough, the change SAYA had made was still there:
[Player 1 Death Rule for Hours 48-60: Perform Coitus on Player 2. Kissing, Fellatio and Sodomy must be performed; the receiver does not matter for the acts of Fellatio and Sodomy.
Alternative Rule: Kill Player 2. Any method of murder is allowed.]
“We still have to do it, huh?”
Kai looked down at Ichirou, who was still red in the eyes, “She isn't giving us a choice. We either do it or die.”
“Yes...”
Hesitantly, he took the teen's hands into his. Kai's thick digits were opposite of Ichirou's more slender ones, and far softer than his.
“I...I'll take it slow. I know you aren't looking forward to this, but I don't want either of us to die.”
The faint ghost of a smile flickered on Ichirou's face,
“I trust you Kai.”
Kai leaned in close and pressed their foreheads against each other, “I promise I won't break that trust,” he said before closing the gap between them and kissing him.
