  1. The Demon was hidden amidst the forests once more, if only to attempt to find any prey for itself- especially considering that there was war waged against Askaheim, it needed such nutrient as soon as possible, all to grow and surpass in strength those that were a solid threat for now.
  2.
  3. But the moment Insectoid jumped out of its ambushing spot, its beady eyes have laid their gaze upon Inoa, giving such sight a large squint. What is it that he was doing here? Just roaming, looking for a fight, or for some diplomatic reason? Or just because he liked travelling?
  4.
  5. Matters little.
  6.
  7. "Hhhhhhhhhhhhhh--"
  8.
  9. "I had been waiting- for days- for any magi to come by- and you will be making a fine- meal."
  10.
  11. "Besides- it appears that- your people- have sided with Askaheim- did they not?"
  12.
  13. The shredding winds have gathered around the Demon, and streams of putrid acid have been leaking from the holes of its mandibles. Doubtless, the Demon was intending to face him in combat.
  14.
  15. "Let's- find out- then..."
  16. (Murmux)
  17.
  18.
  19. Ah Murmux, he should've known that the Kaor would be lurking around here, especially this region. Slowly drawing forth his trident, the Anguill would grin-- pointing it toward the poison demon and offering him a few words.
  20.
  21. "Nah, I'unno what th'fuck they're up to... but I still haven't gotten a response to th'offer that I made Eidolon. But that's besides the point..."
  22.
  23. Chuckling, winds would pick up around Inoa, the water spirit coming to its masters aid and finally... the new ominous aura of dread around him growing stronger and stronger-- in clear juxtaposition with the Holy shroud he emanated.
  24.
  25. "I still consider y' an ally... but show me you're worth stickin' my neck out for. Fair, yeah?"
  26.
  27. The Sirenian didn't plan on faltering before the demon once again-- having come prepared for his antics this time, a smug smirk on his face. Circling Murmux, Inoa would attempt to find the perfect opportunity to lunge at him.
  28.
  29. Intent on swimming through the battlefield and showing the Kaor the jaws of death.
  30. (Inoa)

  99.
  100. Inoa has sustained a grevious injury in battle...
  101.
  102. Inoa has rolled 2 or over: they may escape capture attempts (unless otherwise specified)!
  103.
  104. The battle between the Demon and Inoa was as much of a struggle as possible; with newly acquired scars that were marring the Demon's body, pushing for Sirenian's defeat couldn't have been harder than ever before.
  105.
  106. But thanks to the winds, to the putrid acid, to venom and to the swarm, that was made possible. While combatting each other, it became evident that two fighters were as challenging as it can possibly get to each other, constantly trading heavy blows.
  107.
  108. And then, there was revelation - the power of Arcane that washed over Murmux's body, much like a soothing wave at first, but then a painful torture of otherworldly energy taking it down. Stunned, overwhelmed by its strength, it rose back at its feet.
  109.
  110. "You will not- defeat me- this easily."
  111.
  112. If only to lunge itself upon Sirenian once more.
  113.
  114. Much like the predator it was, it chased down Inoa without any remorse, without any mercy behind its strikes- every single blow had the desire to feed, to devour, one that was accompanied with hatred to the likes of Askaheim.
  115.
  116. And desire to end them all.
  117.
  118. If anything, Inoa was experiencing it all firsthand. The monster's insatiable hunger for blood, for destruction, for evocation of struggle within - one that plagued Gaiar and the rest of the Gaiar-affiliated people at the moment.
  119.
  120. All because it had its own goal to pursue.
  121.
  122. As close as it was, the fate has judged Murmux to be victorious this day. The shredding winds took Sirenian by surprise, taking him down after the surge of Arcane over and over again - at the moment's notice, the Insectoid's mandibles were stabbed into his chest, ripping his clothing apart while the Demon consumed the energy.
  123.
  124. Both that of his, and that of Arcane.
  125.
  126. "You will feed me- us- the swarm."
  127.
  128. "Our- progress."
  129.
  130. With that, the markings of Occult began appearing. A terrifying omen of doom, of death, of ill - the Wild Hunt. A depiction of ghastly visions that would chase about anyone, bringing horror to this realm.
  131.
  132. And now, Inoa was its bearer. Standing up, the Demon stood barely after its close victory, addressing towards Sirenian.
  133.
  134. "You shall- speak to Stella- about this whole ordeal."
  135.
  136. "I can already- sense- something else in you. Should you join us- it will grow stronger."
  137.
  138. "Far stronger- than you could ever- dream of."
  139. (Murmux)
  140.
  141. Still, his fight against the Kaor demon was close.. too close-- Murmux emerging victorious by the skin of his teeth. Maybe helping out these guys wasn't such a bad idea after all. He could obviously create some kind of mutual alliance and have an easier time acquiring what he wanted. There was nobody in Askaheim that could defeat him anyway...
  142.
  143. Wincing as the Occultic brand was placed onto his Holy, divine body, it was clear that the Anguill would feel more pain from this permanent engraving than a normal Magi would, most certainly. The chaotic wave of telekinesis that washed over the battlefield hadn't been enough to secure his spot at the top... but how much more would he need learn? To fight?
  144.
  145. His recent... endeavours had rendered him rusty and weaker-- a fact that frustrated him beyond no other. How was he supposed to defend his property and his things if he didn't have the power to do it?
  146.
  147. Pebbles, rubble and dirt would come to surround the wounded Sirenian-- glaring at the Kaor before him. Of course, manifesting into lightning, Inoa decided to zip through the swamps and away, intent on finding a prosthetic kit for whatever this awful runic mark was.
  148.
  149. Not before offering Murmux a few last words though.
  150.
  151. "Grh... Fair. You're not goin' t'be stronger forever Murmux... but know that you're th'only one worth considerin' alliance with. The rest are weaklings-- so they'll come to Atl n' confirm on my terms."
  152.
  153. Gritting his teeth, Inoa had now vanished into the marshlands.
  154. (Inoa)
