  1. [13:51:50] <@Aeros> D finds himself searching through the great white halls of dreams. searching for the entrance to Giratina's domain. He's gone deep and far from most earthly points. eventually, he finds a 'doorway', mostly closed.
  2. [13:52:25] <@Aeros> Desmond pulls open the 'walls' and pulls himself through the door, entering. "This seems promising."
  3. [13:52:39] <KamenWriter> The plane is dark, that is the basics of it. The darkness stretches out beyond as far as you can see. However, when you look down at yourself, you are illuminated enough to see, uneffected by the blackness surrounding you.
  4. [13:53:40] <KamenWriter> If you look back, the white halls have shadows cast upon them by the cloying blackness of the distortion world, but it eventually stops at an unnatural shadow, staining no further than is allowed.
  5. [13:54:17] <KamenWriter> There is "Ground" underneath you, though it's difficult to see
  6. [13:54:55] <KamenWriter> I don't know if Desmond has any extra senses or sight, you'll have to tell me if he does
  7. [13:56:42] <@Aeros> "Different from the normal worlds...a good sign." He speaks to his recorder. its usually too staticy and distorted to play back in the real world, but its good for recalling notes taken here... He takes out a bit of protein from one of his bags, chews through it, and attempts to cause one of his eyes to develope more night time sensories; is the darkness natural or unnatural?
  8. [13:57:07] <KamenWriter> Very unnatural
  9. [13:57:36] <KamenWriter> You might say supernatural
  10. [13:58:17] <@Aeros> He smiles, and continues on. he has enough supplies to handle most of what has been thrown at him so far.
  11. [13:58:40] <KamenWriter> So, as you walk forward, the door naturally slams shut behind you
  12. [13:59:52] <KamenWriter> And just like that, you begin to hear a voice inside your ear. Or perhaps it's not in your ear, for you can hear it even if you cover both ears up
  13. [13:59:58] <KamenWriter> "Facinating."
  14. [14:00:47] <KamenWriter> *<> this is more appropriate
  15. [14:01:15] * @Aeros does no such thing; he simply smiles, "Hello Could you be the one I am searching for?"
  16. [14:01:56] <KamenWriter> <I should say I am surprised. I am the one that would usually seek you out, not the other way around.>
  17. [14:03:05] <@Aeros> "Then, have I finally found you? Giratina."
  18. [14:03:09] <KamenWriter> <A little bug walking unwillingly into a Spinarak's lair? Or perhaps someone worthy of my time?>
  19. [14:03:26] <KamenWriter> <It knows my name, this is a good sign.>
  20. [14:04:28] <KamenWriter> <I apologize for the mess. I've not had houseguests for a long while.>
  21. [14:05:17] <KamenWriter> <The old ways of magic and spirits are not currently in vogue with the majority of humans after all.>
  22. [14:05:53] <@Aeros> "They are coming once again. We humans are rediscovering our birthrights once more, now that we have escaped the earth."
  23. [14:06:37] <KamenWriter> <Oh, more good news for me, and for you.>
  24. [14:06:48] <KamenWriter> <But where are my manners, please...>
  25. [14:07:05] <KamenWriter> What is a place that D would dream about. A place he feels comfortable
  26. [14:08:12] <@Aeros> A galant, ancient hall of a king. large pillars, massive throne. yet made out of modern materials and design.
  27. [14:08:40] <@Aeros> He smiles, and goes to sit in a chair accross from the throne, "I am the guest, after all..."
  28. [14:09:28] <@Aeros> He pulls out another capsule of powdered protien and pops it, reversing his eye back to normal vision.
  29. [14:10:25] <@Aeros> industrial sounds bellow from inside the walls.
  30. [14:10:41] <KamenWriter> "I assume the guest's seat is not your usual spot." Says a voice from behind the throne.
  31. [14:11:10] <@Aeros> "I am normally not the guest. then again, I normally do not have guests inside my head."
  32. [14:11:23] <KamenWriter> A man in a dark business suit appears (it is now a Space-era business suit, rather than an 1890s business suit)
  33. [14:11:57] <@Aeros> Desmond threads his fingers together, watching him.
  34. [14:12:01] <KamenWriter> He walks out from behind the throne and hangs a hat on the edge of the ornate chair, "Greetings."
  35. [14:12:43] <KamenWriter> He walks up and holds out a hand for you to shake, "You've been searching for me. I wouldn't imagine leaving you in the lurch after so much effort."
  36. [14:13:14] <@Aeros> "I expected something a bit more intimidating." he cooly smiles, "But it is quite an honor to finally meet you. Yes, Its been a year." He holds out his own hand.
  37. [14:13:28] <KamenWriter> "But I regret that you have me at an advantage. I'm not completely omnicient, after all."
  38. [14:13:40] <KamenWriter> He shakes your hand.
  39. [14:14:43] <@Aeros> "Desmond. Now of the family name Damascus... Rather old fashioned, they are. Insist on calling me Lord D. A lovely name, if a bit of a hand me down."
  40. [14:15:13] <KamenWriter> "Damascus. A name of portend."
  41. [14:15:23] <KamenWriter> "But I suppose that's beside the point,
  42. [14:15:43] <KamenWriter> " he walks back over to the throne and sets his briefcase down upon the table.
  43. [14:16:06] <KamenWriter> "Tell me, Desmond, what do you believe I can do for you?"
  44. [14:16:33] <@Aeros> "I am aware of the stigma, unlike some of my...less educated bretheren. Old Libraries of earth still have secrets in them, after all."
  45. [14:16:49] <@Aeros> "As for what you can do for me..." he looks up.
  46. [14:17:17] <@Aeros> "Shall I bore you with the story, or should I skip straight to the point? You must be a busy being, after all." He grins.
  47. [14:17:45] <KamenWriter> "Not as busy as I once was. I'm always interested in learning about those I do business with."
  48. [14:19:11] <@Aeros> "I seem to have the powers of healing, or rather, of gene, cell, and dna manipulation. I share some of these traits with my predecessor, the first D. he was a kind old fool, thinking of saving the world, healing the system's sick, making super powered soldiers, that sort of thing."
  49. [14:20:04] <@Aeros> "I suppose I could call it fate that we shared the same Initial, with how backwards the damascan naming system is. But that's rambling."
  50. [14:20:42] <@Aeros> "He died, about...seven months ago."
  51. [14:20:55] <KamenWriter> "I see."
  52. [14:21:00] <KamenWriter> "And you feel differently about how to best use your gifts."
  53. [14:21:09] <@Aeros> "I'm a bit selfish."
  54. [14:21:58] <@Aeros> "The perfection of the human race does not lie in raising everyone equally, but only one."
  55. [14:22:40] <@Aeros> "I can perfect my body, make it more applicable to 'evolution'."
  56. [14:23:07] <KamenWriter> "Nothing wrong with that I daresay. Selfishness is, I believe, one way that Humanity has dominated the world. And beyond if I'm correct"
  57. [14:23:45] <@Aeros> "Yes yes! we're out to the fourth planet in the system now, and farther if rumors are to be believed." He leans back, "The problem lies, in the power source." He holds up a handful of pills, "I basically guzzle coal like an ancient locomotive."
  58. [14:24:32] <@Aeros> "I can give myself a third arm, even work it dexterously. but it does me little good if it leaves me famished and cold, lacking energy."
  59. [14:24:33] <KamenWriter> "Go on."
  60. [14:25:21] <KamenWriter> "And so, energy. I begin to feel that this will be a theme."
  61. [14:25:28] <@Aeros> "Unlocking the power of cells to stop their own ends; to continue existing far past my expiration date. that is my power."
  62. [14:25:34] <@Aeros> "A bit."
  63. [14:26:17] <KamenWriter> "I like it when your kind comes to me with exactly what they would like."
  64. [14:26:38] <KamenWriter> "But of course, I'm sure the textbooks mention that I do not give freely."
  65. [14:27:05] <@Aeros> He laughs, holding up a full head helmet crimson in color with a white cross over one eye, "I am just not sure if you are able to accept my request...after all, you ask for my 'soul' if old books are correct."
  66. [14:27:15] <@Aeros> "After I die...which I do not plan to do."
  67. [14:27:50] <@Aeros> He looks back at Giratina, "I have wakened my third eye. normally the highest ascendence humans can go."
  68. [14:27:57] <@Aeros> "And I already have plans to go farther."
  69. [14:28:35] <KamenWriter> "Not so high as to unseat me from my home here I hope."
  70. [14:28:40] <@Aeros> "Yes, energy is my theme i suppose. I COULD carry a nuclear reactor, but even the smallest would be SLIGHTLY conspicuous." he makes a tiny gesture with his hand.
  71. [14:29:42] <@Aeros> "I have no interest in your home. but I do plan to become even stronger than you."
  72. [14:30:01] <KamenWriter> "Fine, fine. Many of my proteges have done exactly that."
  73. [14:30:33] <KamenWriter> "Your request seems simple enough, I would give it right now if I could, but there is some red tape to go through first."
  74. [14:30:42] <KamenWriter> "Nasty business, but there ARE rules."
  75. [14:31:31] <@Aeros> "I am aware. but are you really sure you understand what I'm asking? enough energy to sustain my cellular reproduction to ridiculous levels."
  76. [14:32:04] <KamenWriter> "Of course, what better to keep something alive that should be dead than the energy of ghosts?"
  77. [14:32:48] <KamenWriter> "My price is simply that when you die... IF you die, pardon my slip of the tongue... you shall become my servant."
  78. [14:34:02] <@Aeros> "I am sure it is not so simple as 'energy of ghosts.' but thats semantics isn't it? As for when, if, I die, what does becoming your servant entail? the books speak of pokemon who are not just pokemon."
  79. [14:35:01] <KamenWriter> "Simply enough, you... or rather your essence, call it a soul or what have you... will be under my command, and will go where I please it to go."
  80. [14:35:16] <KamenWriter> *Will go wherever my pleasure fancies."
  81. [14:35:21] <KamenWriter> (Is a better wording)
  82. [14:35:51] <KamenWriter> "There are pokemon who are not just pokemon, but you appear to have skipped that step entirely."
  83. [14:35:52] <@Aeros> "Soul, Hearts, Eyes. I understand the abstract; perhaps I'll understand the truth one day as well."
  84. [14:36:31] <KamenWriter> "Perhaps."
  85. [14:36:37] <KamenWriter> "And now the legal jargon you're required to hear, though you're quite driven I doubt it will do much difference."
  86. [14:37:30] <KamenWriter> "Once I've finished the contract, I shall visit you in your dreams three times. On each of these visits you will have the opportunity to further negotiate the contract, or, if you like, turn it down completely."
  87. [14:38:10] <KamenWriter> "The first time, I shall ask nicely. The second, I shall try to trick you. on the third visit, I shall try to make you take the deal by force."
  88. [14:38:28] <KamenWriter> "But, I doubt we'll reach that far."
  89. [14:38:43] <@Aeros> "So shall I go to sleep now, or later?" He grins.
  90. [14:39:32] <KamenWriter> "Believe me, I would like nothing better than to give you the keys to the castle immedietely, but alas."
  91. [14:40:12] <KamenWriter> "Other powers that be aren't too keen on this whole thing. My deals must be airtight, or they are very easily annulled, you understand."
  92. [14:40:42] <@Aeros> "Of course...but if we're being completely fair..."
  93. [14:40:48] <KamenWriter> "Even HE can't argue with his own laws, plan and simple."
  94. [14:41:43] <@Aeros> "I don't think I have the power to annul our contract, when and if we make it. But one day, I will be stronger than you. And one day, I may try to cut ties with you, not needing your power by then."
  95. [14:42:28] <KamenWriter> "Well, that's completely out of my hands in any case."
  96. [14:42:56] <KamenWriter> "You may not need my power someday, but if you want to break a binding contract, you'll have to take it up with a higher power."
  97. [14:43:09] <@Aeros> "Just a warning. It definitely wont be soon...and I am aware of that."
  98. [14:43:25] <@Aeros> "Just remember, I don't plan to stop at your level of power."
  99. [14:44:13] <@Aeros> He stares at level at giratina.
  100. [14:44:18] <KamenWriter> "Such aspirations. I wait on pins and needles to see how it plays out."
  101. [14:44:44] <@Aeros> "...Then again, if I do die, it'd be relatively soon, because of my own inexperience and foolishness."
  102. [14:44:55] <@Aeros> "So I doubt we'll have this problem."
  103. [14:45:08] <@Aeros> "Because the only reason I'd break contract is if I do die."
  104. [14:45:48] <KamenWriter> "Oh? And I'd be interested to see how you manage that as well."
  105. [14:46:53] <KamenWriter> He reaches into his briefcase and places an object on the table, "I think that our work here is quite finished for now. You might expect me as soon as tomorrow night. I have enough free time after all."
  106. [14:47:28] <KamenWriter> It appears to be a pokeball with a black and red color scheme, "Until then, please, consider this a... free sample."
  107. [14:48:10] <@Aeros> He looks at the object, "Is this the servant? Some correlational data between a 'servant' and calling for you...I attempted to find one in the real world, with no luck, so i simply decided to cut the middle man."
  108. [14:48:14] <@Aeros> He picks up the ball.
  109. [14:48:37] <KamenWriter> "When I am gone, open it, you'll see."
  110. [14:48:51] <KamenWriter> "I always give a free preview to my clients."
  111. [14:49:09] <KamenWriter> "You may play with it in this realm until you awaken. If you leave my realm it will not persist however."
  112. [14:49:13] <@Aeros> He grins, "Or maybe more of a tracking device? ...No matter, just conjecture..."
  113. [14:49:20] <@Aeros> He pauses, then begins laughing.
  114. [14:49:28] <@Aeros> "So you cannot tell the difference...beautiful..."
  115. [14:49:50] <@Aeros> He leans over, "I asked earlier if I should sleep now...that is because, right now, I am not sleeping."
  116. [14:49:56] <@Aeros> "I am here, very physically."
  117. [14:50:41] <KamenWriter> He laughs as well, "Oh? This is new then. I am not used to dealing with those that are awake."
  118. [14:51:01] <KamenWriter> "Then again, I'm also not used to those that seek me out."
  119. [14:51:13] <KamenWriter> "At least not so directly."
  120. [14:51:38] <@Aeros> "My powers seem to not work the same when I sleep... You will see once we meet up. I have been told its quite an experience."
  121. [14:52:10] <KamenWriter> "I am sure."
  122. [14:52:29] <@Aeros> "The shadow that normally obscures those who have not met each other seems to stay with me. A bug in the system, the white ones more or less told me."
  123. [14:53:14] <KamenWriter> "Ah, them. Pleasant enough chaps. At least most of them."
  124. [14:53:56] <@Aeros> He nods, extending his hand after pocketing the ball and his mask. "I'm glad we finally met."
  125. [14:54:29] <KamenWriter> "I am as well," he shakes your hand, "Good evening, Desmond."
  126. [14:54:52] <KamenWriter> He then retrieves his hat, and exits through a door behind the throne.
  127. [14:55:02] <KamenWriter> The pokeball is there. Open it?
  128. [14:55:11] <@Aeros> He unpockets the ball, and does so.
  129. [14:55:31] <KamenWriter> A ghostly smoke appears to pour out of the ball as soon as it is opened.
  130. [14:55:53] <KamenWriter> And you suddenly feel it. The energy you'e been searching for.
  131. [14:56:29] <KamenWriter> The smoke pours over you, and your dying cells remain strong, no matter how much you use them up for.
  132. [14:57:31] <KamenWriter> Also from the smoke, a being begins to form.
  133. [14:58:39] <KamenWriter> It inhabits a paving stone under the table and rising from underneath, a purple smoke creature with a great smiling face.
  134. [14:58:53] <KamenWriter> <Hello, you must be the new guy.>
  135. [14:59:27] <@Aeros> Desmond watches, grinning madly as his powers feel elevated. its slow, but he can feel the strange power fueling the cell growth and multiplication.
  136. [14:59:35] <@Aeros> "That, I am."
  137. [15:00:00] <KamenWriter> <Well, well, you sure know how to party.>
  138. [15:00:32] <KamenWriter> He regards your cell growth with facination, <Hehehehe, I can tell you're going to be one of the interesting ones.>
  139. [15:01:13] <@Aeros> "What is your name, being?" He starts small, restructuring his bones, and slowly growing an arm out of his side.
  140. [15:01:23] <KamenWriter> <I'm... well, I guess my last name makes no difference. I'm yours now, you get to name me.>
  141. [15:01:53] <KamenWriter> <Kinda irregular, usually you'd have to track me down and use me to find the boss.>
  142. [15:02:12] <KamenWriter> <But I guess now it's the other way around since you took the initiative.>
  143. [15:02:52] <@Aeros> He inspects his arm, then looks at the pokemon, "I was handed down a name. so you shall as well. What was your favorite name, or at least, your most interesting name."
  144. [15:03:18] <KamenWriter> <Ohhhh, that's a loaded question.>
  145. [15:03:41] <KamenWriter> <There was an age where I had the time of my unlife.>
  146. [15:04:09] <KamenWriter> <The first one named me Pandora, and I got passed down through a whole family.>
  147. [15:05:03] <KamenWriter> <Now those were interesting times.>
  148. [15:05:13] <KamenWriter> <Except number 2. He was boring :/>
  149. [15:05:49] <@Aeros> "Fausts." He smiles.
  150. [15:06:10] <KamenWriter> <Oh, heard of 'em have you?>
  151. [15:06:33] <@Aeros> "Very well Pandora. Its a fine name. I came here and ripped open pandora's box, before even being told not to. It suits."
  152. [15:07:05] <@Aeros> "Books have been written about them. mostly fictional, but the further back books tend to be more plausibly accurate."
  153. [15:07:29] <@Aeros> "Has He told you what I aim for?"
  154. [15:07:45] <KamenWriter> <I don't care what you aim for.>
  155. [15:07:55] <KamenWriter> <All I'm looking to have is a good time.>
  156. [15:08:33] <@Aeros> "Power, ascendance, and the immortality that comes with it." He continues regardless, "I imagine that sort of long road will be filled with good times."
  157. [15:09:21] <KamenWriter> <Well, that tears it. The Boss is good to me :3>
  158. [15:09:40] <KamenWriter> <Got any other ghosts? They probably woulda liked to meet the boss.>
  159. [15:09:57] <KamenWriter> He inspects you for pokeballs or mirrors
  160. [15:10:37] <@Aeros> "I don't keep the pokemon with me when I am awake in this world."
  161. [15:11:05] <KamenWriter> <Alrighty then.>
  162. [15:12:00] <KamenWriter> <Well, what are we waiting for, give those new powers of yours a spin.>
  163. [15:12:33] <@Aeros> He extends his third arm, fully formed now and properly connected.
  164. [15:12:33] <KamenWriter> <This is your time to practice before signing on for the real deal.>
  165. [15:12:51] <KamenWriter> :O <Woah. COOL>
  166. [15:13:07] <KamenWriter> <That's still a thing people say right? Cool?>
  167. [15:13:19] <KamenWriter> <It's been a while since I've lived among humans.>
  168. [15:13:45] <@Aeros> "Have you seen the colonies yet? Or have you always been bound to the earth." He says as his arm begins to turn into blood at his will.
  169. [15:14:41] <@Aeros> He then places his palm at the puddle on the ground, and begins to lift. forming a crimson blade.
  170. [15:15:13] <KamenWriter> <I remember a fella landing on the moon. There was a big stink about that. Then for a lot of years after that the space fever died down.>
  171. [15:15:54] <KamenWriter> <Guess it started back up after all, hehehe.>
  172. [15:16:29] <@Aeros> He grins, "There will be a lot to see then."
  173. [15:17:37] <KamenWriter> >:D
  174. [15:17:45] <@Aeros> He takes the blade and attempts to snap it, which it does quite easily, "Hrm, not enough carbon?" He mutters, then looks at Pandora, "Shall I show you? the city I am currently in should be a fun place to explore, and to practice."
  175. [15:18:34] <KamenWriter> <City? :O You dreaming a city right now? Looks more like a throne room.>
  176. [15:18:49] <KamenWriter> <Seen a few of those in my day.>
  177. [15:19:59] <@Aeros> "I meant where I was, come. I'll show you the facility." He then walks towards the exit, "Its in the outer colonies. I discovered a way to come here physically."
  178. [15:20:23] <KamenWriter> <Ah, okay then.>
  179. [15:20:45] <KamenWriter> <You're the trainer. I'm the pokemon.>
  180. [15:21:47] <KamenWriter> <Lead the way.>
  181. [15:22:11] <@Aeros> He recalls Pandora, pocketing him once more. He begins laughing as he leaves touching his eyes, as he steps into the darkness beyond, they begin faintly glowing a crimson red.
