- Mario 3 Incentives for New PC
- -----------------------------
- You got world 1 of Mario 3 blindfolded for free (it's even in my highlights if you want to see it, or just wanted proof that I own a blindfold or actually did it). If you want to see any more of the game, you can choose to donate toward it.
- Instead of the donation bar saying "this donation goal is for a TV," it's now for the dance pad, and then the PC. Even once all of these are done, we won't be all the way to the PC, but we'll have made a significant dent in it.
- -------------------------
- World 1 Blindfolded: FREE <DONE>
- -------------------------
- This was free for demonstration purposes.
- -------------------------
- World 2 Blindfolded: $100 <DONE>
- -------------------------
- <Prices for world 2 have been slashed!>
- * 2-1 & 2-2: $20 (I surmise 2-1 will be relatively easy, thus I'm offering 2 stages here.)
- * 2-F: $15
- * 2-3: $10
- * 2-Desert & 2-5: $15 (Again, I surmise 2-Desert will be pretty easy for the most part, so I'm offering 2 stages again.)
- * 2-Pyramid: $30 (This costs a bunch because there's a lot of left-and-right in this stage, as well as block breaking.)
- * 2-Airship: $10
- -------------------------
- World 3 Blindfolded: $130 <DONE>
- -------------------------
- * 3-1 & 3-2: $20 (I figure 3-1 will be pretty easy.)
- * 3-3: $20
- * 3-F: $15 (Though this is the Fortress of Doors, I don't expect to have a hugely difficult time.)
- * 3-4: $25 (This isn't as technical as 2-P, but it still won't be easy.)
- [I will be fighting both bros in world 3 at whatever point so I can skip 4-F1: if I do not do this, 4-F1 is FREE.]
- * 3-8: $20 (This is going to be a tough stage.)
- * 3-9: $15
- * 3-Airship: $25 (This is probably the first difficult airship, and I need fire, or we're going to be spending a LONG time on the Wendy battle.)
- -------------------------
- World 4 Blindfolded: $130 <DONE>
- -------------------------
- * 4-1: $10
- * 4-2: $20
- * 4-3: $25
- * 4-F1: FREE if I need to do it due to managing to skip W3 bros.
- * 4-4: $10 (Fairly easy stage.)
- * 4-6: $25 (Fairly complicated with its obstacles.)
- * 4-F2: $25 (Fair amount of lava here, as well as a few tough obstacles.)
- * 4-Airship: $15
- -------------------------
- World 5 Blindfolded: $130 <DONE>
- -------------------------
- (Puts us at $50 into the New PC.)
- * 5-1: $10 (Up and down the mountain. Ezpz.)
- * 5-2: $15 (I will probably end up bottom-routing this. If I do, that's my fault.)
- * 5-F1: $10 (Another easy fortress.)
- * 5-ST: $20
- * 5-4: $15
- * 5-5: $15 (Aside from all the donut platforms, this stage is relatively easy.)
- * 5-7: $15
- * 5-F2: $15 (Jump timing is the hard thing to do here.)
- * 5-8: $10 (Pretty easy, again citing mere jumps as the hard part.)
- * 5-Airship: $15 (Easy airship except for The Gauntlet.)
- -------------------------
- World 6 Blindfolded: $200 <DONE>
- -------------------------
- (Puts us at $250 into the new laptop.)
- * 6-F1: $20 (Short and relatively easy to do sighted, but timing makes this stage harder blindfolded - when do I go? When do I jump? When am I safe?)
- * 6-4: $25 (There are a bunch of precise jumps to make, and spinners and a Fire Chomp who can wreck my day.)
- * 6-5 or 6-6: $30 (Do I need to say why? EITHER of these stages is a huge pain in the ass for its own reasons.)
- * 6-F2: $30 (A difficult fort to do; falling down pits or getting hit by Thwomps is the order of the day.)
- * 6-8: $25 (Aside from a ton of enemies, it's hard to fall down any pits. Still, the enemies are notable; they're everywhere.)
- * 6-9 or 6-10: $20 (I doubt I have a P-Wing for 6-9.)
- * 6-F3: $30 (There is a TON of stuff to worry about in this place.)
- * 6-Airship: $20 (This airship may not be long, but it's got multiple jumps that are easy to screw up.)
- -------------------------
- World 7 Blindfolded: $340 <DONE>
- -------------------------
- (Puts us at $590 into the new laptop.)
- * 7-1: $40 (This is a vertical climb stage, the first one I'm expected to do in this run. I won't have much in the way of audio cues to tell me where I am. The timer will also not be on my side like this. Heaven help me.)
- * 7-2: $35 (Tons of enemies, plus bridge-building, equals a nightmare.)
- * 7-3: $25 (Sure, there're stars - but I'm not guaranteed to keep them going, and if I don't, Bad Things TM can easily happen.)
- * 7-4 or 7-5: $40 (There's no way I can skip doing one or the other of these, pretty sure. My clouds are all gone.)
- * 7-F1: $20 (I doubt I have a P-Wing for this, but the biggest obstacles will be getting a leaf and FINDING THAT PIPE ON THE CEILING.)
- * 7-6: $50 (I predict arrow platforms will be the devil blindfolded. Again, the timer will be an issue.)
- * 7-7 or 7-8: $30 (There is NO WAY either of these can end well.)
- * 7-9: $50 (Good luck finding my way through this maze. Left-and-right EVERYWHERE, with hardly any good way to tell if I'm making progress. The timer is NOT my friend here.)
- * 7-F2: $40 (This will also be a nightmare. Lava everywhere, precise jumps are everything, and we have complications near the end of the stage.)
- * 7-Airship: $30 (This will be a rather difficult jump-fest I am not looking forward to.)
- -------------------------
- World 8 Blindfolded: $210 <DONE>
- -------------------------
- (Puts us at $800 into the new laptop.)
- * 8-T1: $45 (What is a tank? A miserable little pile of lost lives. Cannonballs and bob-ombs flying around everywhere will make this an extreme challenge blindfolded.)
- * 8-N: $30 (3 boats. No big deal, right? Wrong. Rocky Wrenches means tools flying around everywhere, and the end could be disastrous with all those cannons.)
- * 8-Hands: FREE. (These will be manipulated to not happen unless I am desperate for a leaf. Any hand trap stages I decide to play for a leaf are free.)
- * 8-Air Force: $50 (I am not asking one penny less for this bullshit if I have to do it normally. If for some reason I have a P-Wing after doing World 7, this will go down to $10.)
- * 8-1: $40 (If I cannot cloud it by the time I get there. If it can be clouded, this will be free, as it won't be played.)
- * 8-2: $15 (Sands of shame trivializes the first half of the stage, but there IS that pit at the end. I still don't know what the hell I'm going to do about that thing, which will be the only major obstacle.)
- * 8-T2: $30 (I am not betting on this being easy, but I *am* betting on it being easier than 8-T1. This stage is shorter and has less going on vertically.)
- * 8-BC: $50 (I don't care *what* I have when I get to Bowser, that huge donut lift room WILL NOT be pretty. Chances are that I will not make it to Bowser with any projectile weapons, making the fight absolutely not trivial as well - even if I somehow DO get projectiles there, you think it's gonna be easy to even toss hammers at him? I normally have to be able to see where a fireball is and jump over it, lest I take damage and have to fall-kill him anyway.)
- -----------------------------------------
- Entire Game, Minimum B-Button Usage: $100 <DONE>
- -----------------------------------------
- (Puts us at $900 into the new laptop. I can probably get it at this point.)
- * I get to see, but now I'm only allowed to use the B button if the game somehow demands it. Otherwise, it's completely off-limits.
- * Unless speed is MANDATORY for extra-large/high necessary jumps or other reasons, no running will be allowed. Usage of fireballs, tail, or hammers to kill anything at any time is not permitted; only stomp-killing is permitted.
- * Using a tail to slow descents uses the A button, so that's fine.
- * B-button presses will be counted, just as peeks were counted in my Blindfolded world runs.
- * It's already known at least one B-button press is absolutely mandatory in 2-P; the second wall cannot be overcome without either swinging a tail at it, or picking up a shell/running after it to assure the wall is destroyed.

- How Dance Pad Works
- ---
- Here's how this will work. I get to see, and I can use the B button - but it uh... won't exactly be a B button. Here's how buttons will likely be mapped; the dance pad's directions will take care of primary in-stage travel directions and actions, and Start/Back will be assigned two directions you don't use much inside of stages (up and down). There is no amazing setup that will work really well - that's part of the challenge of playing on a dance pad. :p
- Dance Pad = NES Button
- --------- ----------
- Left = Left
- Right = Right
- Up = A (for jumping)
- Down = B (for running/firing)
- Start = Up (for entering doors/climbing vines)
- Back = Down (for ducking)
- I'll have to stick Start on the keyboard or something; aside from beginning the game, it shouldn't be necessary to use it during the actual run. Pressing Select is never necessary at any time.
