Mimashi: Hahahaha! It seems they did a number on you, even though it was just a diversion.

「黙れ、奴らに対する義理は充分に果たしたわ」
Amaso: Be silent. I have accomplished my duty.

「…ん? イキマの姿が見えぬようだが」
Amaso: ...Hm? I don’t see Ikima there.

「イキマであれば妾の命で外に出ておる。
お前がいない間に少しあってのう」
Himika: Ikima is elsewhere, on my orders. A few things have happened while you were away.

「私がいない間にですか?」
Amaso: What do you mean, my Lady?

ヒミカ
「そうじゃ。
[デーモン]の奴ら、中々面白い者たちよ。
フハハハハハハハ!」
Himika: You’ll see. [Demons] are quite interesting creatures. Mwahahahaha!

「ククク、変身したところで何になる?
こいつらを殺して俺と戦うか?」
Ghelmer: Hahaha, what good does transforming do you? Do you want them to die just so you can fight me?

Kaname: Ugggggh...!

「あああああーっ!!」
Miki: Aaaaaaah!!

カレン
「う…くっ…卑劣な奴めっ…!」
Kallen: Ugh... You scumbag...!

(The front door opens.)

「そいつはデーモンにとって褒め言葉だぜ」
???: That is a compliment to a Demon.

デビルマン
「…!」
Devilman: ...!

(Ghelmer is shot by someone.)

「ぐああっ!?」
Ghelmer: Guagh!?

カレン
「な、何!?」
Kallen: Wh-What the...!?

宗介
「今だ…!」
Sousuke: Now...!

(Sousuke throws a tear gas grenade.)

「あ…ううう…!」
Kaname: A...ugggh...!

刹那
「催涙弾か…!
ならば!」
Setsuna: Tear gas...! In that case!

カレン
「ごめん…!」
Kallen: Sorry about this...!

(Kallen and Setsuna punch Kaname and Miki in the gut.)

Kaname: Urp—!

「あぐっ…!」
Miki: Aguh—!

デビルマン
「ゲルマーの水を吐き出したか…!」
Devilman: They spit out Ghelmer’s water...!

ゲルマー
「ぐ…しまった…!」
Ghelmer: Grr... Dammit all...!

デビルマン
「もはや遠慮はいらん!
死ねえええええ一つ!!」
Devilman: Now I don’t have to restrain myself! DIEEEE!!

(The screen flashes red as Devilman attacks.)

ゲルマー
「ぐわああああああーっ!!」
Ghelmer: Guwaaaaagh!!

テキスク
「うぎゃああああああーっ!!」
Texsch: Gyaaaaaah!!

(Devilman kills every Demon in the room.)

刹那
「全て焼き尽くしたか…」
Setsuna: He turned them all to ash...

デビルマン
「美樹は!?」
Devilman: How’s Miki!?

宗介
「問題ない。
ふたりとも、気を失っているだけだ」
Sousuke: There’s no problem. They’re both just unconscious.

カレン
「そう…良かった…」
Kallen: Ah... I’m so relieved...

(Ryo approaches.)

「対デーモン用の特殊ショットガン。
効果は抜群だったようだな」
Ryo: A specially designed anti-Demon shotgun. Seems like it was very effective.

デビルマン
「了!」
Devilman: Ryo!

宗介
「知可合いか、不動?」
Sousuke: Do you know him, Fudo?

デビルマン
「こいつは飛鳥了。俺の幼馴染みだ。
俺が[デビルマン]であることも知っている」
Devilman: He’s Ryo Asuka. An old friend of mine. He also knows that I’m [Devilman].

刹那
「さっき俺たちを助けたのはお前か」
Setsuna: You were the one who saved us just now.

「そういうことだ」
Ryo: That’s correct.

「明、さっきのデーモンを始末したことで、
2階に囚われていたこの家の人たちも、
おそらく助かったはずだ」
Ryo: Akira, the people that were trapped upstairs should be safe now that you’ve taken care of the Demons.

デビルマン
「…そうか」
Devilman: ...That’s good.

「ゲルマー相手に生き延びたか、
デビルマン!」
???: So you survived against Ghelmer, Devilman!

カレン
「この声は…!?」
Kallen: What’s that voice...!?

「どうやらゆっくり挨拶してる暇もないらしい。
外へ出るぞ!」
Ryo: Seems we don’t have the time for proper introductions. Let’s get outside!

Episode 29
For Love


(Scene begins on the map screen of the city, at night. Devilman is on the map.)

デビルマン
「その声は貴様だな!
出てこい、シレーヌ!」
Devilman: I know whose shrill voice that is! Come out here, Sirene!

(Sirene and other Demons appear.)

シレーヌ
「よくぞ見破ったな、デビルマン!」
Sirene: You did well to break through that trap, Devilman!

了
「あのデーモンが、今回の黒幕のようだな」
Ryo: That Demon appears to be the mastermind behind all this.

宗介
「奴が千鳥たちを…」
Sousuke: It’s because of her that Chidori...

デビルマン
「美樹を頼む。
あいつらは、俺が倒す」
Devilman: Take care of Miki. I’m going to defeat them.

カレン
「明!」
Kallen: Akira!

(Devilman flies towards the enemies.)

シレーヌ
「無様だな、デビルマン!
人間に心を奪われたりしなければ、
ゲルマー如きに手こずらなかったはずだ!」
Sirene: How shameful, Devilman! If you hadn’t let your heart be stolen by humans, Ghelmer wouldn’t have given you any trouble at all!

デビルマン
「ふん、これぐらい貴様程度にはいいハンデだぜ!」
Devilman: Hmph, that’s just how much of a handicap you lot need!

デビルマン
「いくぜ、シレーヌ!
今度こそ地獄に送ってやる!」
Devilman: Let’s go, Sirene! It’s time I send you to hell!

シレーヌ
「黙れ!
地獄に行くのは貴様だ、デビルマン!」
Sirene: Silence! The one going to hell will be you, Devilman!

(Battle 1 begins.)

(Battle 1 ends after Devilman takes 3 Actions. It is impossible to defeat Sirene in that time since you can only use the Devilman with stats the game gives you. If there are unique lines for Sirene’s defeat, you can’t see them normally.)

デビルマン
「くそ…思ったよりも身体が動かん…」
Devilman: Dammit... I can’t move as well as I want to...

シレーヌ
「ハハハハ!
死が近づいているぞ、デビルマン!」
Sirene: Hahahaha! Your death draws near, Devilman!

カレン
「このままじゃ明が…!」
Kallen: It this keeps up, Akira will...!

刹那
「…いや、救援が来た」
Setsuna: ...It won’t. Reinforcements are here.

(The Ra Cailum appears.)

弁慶
「デーモン!
やはりこちらが本命だったか!」
Benkei: Demons! So this was what we really had to worry about!

シレーヌ
「あれはデビルマンの仲間…!
ええい、邪魔大王国の連中め!」
Sirene: Those are Devilman’s comrades...! Damn that worthless [Jamatai Empire]!

クルツ
「おい生きてるか、ソースケ?」
Kurz: You still breathing, Sousuke?

宗介
「何とかな。
千鳥たちも無事だ」
Sousuke: Somehow. Chidori and the others are safe as well.

デビルマン
「どうやら形勢逆転のようだな」
Devilman: Looks like the tables have turned.

シレーヌ
「くっ、おのれ!
まだ勝負は決したわけではないぞ!」
Sirene: Tch, bastard! The victor hasn’t been decided yet!

???
「その通りだ、シレーヌ」
???: That’s right, Sirene.

シレーヌ
「…!」
Sirene: ...!

(Kaim appears with Haniwa Phantoms.)

カイム
「今こそ君の勝利のため、俺の力を捧げよう!」
Kaim: Here and now, I offer my aid to grant you victory!


(Scene ends.)

(Next scene picks up where it left off.)


鋼鉄ジーグ
「新手のデーモンのおでましか。
新しいハニワ幻人まで引き連れてやがる」
Steel Jeeg: A new Demon is here. And he even brought new types of Haniwa Phantoms with him.

シレーヌ
「来たか、カイム」
Sirene: You’ve come, Kaim.

カイム
「すまない。
見ての通り、戦力を借り受けるのに
時間がかかってしまった」
Kaim: I apologize. As you can see, it took some time to borrow these troops.

シレーヌ
「奴らは陽動以外で協力しない約束では?」
Sirene: Wasn’t part of the agreement that they wouldn’t cooperate outside of the diversion?

カイム
「今はそれよりも、
デビルマンを倒すことが先ではないのか?」
Kaim: For the moment, is defeating Devilman not of greater priority?

シレーヌ
「…その通りよ」
Sirene: ...It is.

弁慶
「宗介、カレン、刹那!
お前たちの機体をそちらへ射出するぞ!」
Benkei: Sousuke, Kallen, Setsuna! We’re sending out your machines!

刹那
「了解!」
Setsuna: Roger!

(Sousuke, Kallen, and Setsuna all appear on the map in their mechs.)

宗介
「これで奴らに借りを返すことができる…!」
Sousuke: Now we’re able to pay them back...!

カレン
「デーモン、よくもかなめたちを…!」
Kallen: How dare those Demons do that to Kaname and Miki...!

ブライト
「各機も続けて出撃しろ!」
Bright: Continue launching the other units!

(The player’s team deploys.)

カイム
「デビルマン!
俺とシレーヌの勝利のために、
貴様にはここで死んでもらうぞ!」
Kaim: Devilman! You will die here, so that Sirene and I may be victorious!

デビルマン
「貴様らこそ、このまま無事に帰れると思うな!」
Devilman: You bastards think you can get away clean after what you’ve done!?

宗介
「いくぞ…!」
Sousuke: Let’s go...!

(Battle 2 begins.)

(Battle 2 ends when either Sirene or Kaim are defeated.)

(If Sirene is defeated.)

シレーヌ
「まだだ…まだ終わりではない!
この生命に代えても、デビルマン!
貴様を倒す…!」
Sirene: Not yet... I’m not done yet! Not until I at least take you down with me! I will defeat you...!

(If Kaim is defeated.)

カイム
「ぐ…シレーヌの前で情けない姿を見せられん…!
倒れるものか!」
Kaim: Guh... I won’t let myself appear weak in front of Sirene...! I will not fall!

シレーヌ
「我々をここまでコケにするとは、
許すまじデビルマン! 許すまじ人間ども!」
Sirene: I won’t let you make fools out of us, Devilman! I won’t let humans do such a thing!

デビルマン
「黙れ、デーモンどもッ…!」
Devilman: Shut the hell up, Demon...!

シレーヌ
「…!」
Sirene: ...!

デビルマン
「貴様らの怒りなど、
今の俺たちの怒りの前では
はるかに生温い!」
Devilman: Your anger is nothing compared to the rage we feel right now!

(Devilman knocks Sirene across the map.)

シレーヌ
「うぐっ…!」
Sirene: Ugh...!

デビルマン
「シレーヌ、貴様は人間の心をあざ笑ったな!」
Devilman: Sirene, you laughed at the human heart!

デビルマン
「だが、大事な者を傷つけられた人の怒りが、
今お前を討ち滅ぼそうとしているぞ…!」
Devilman: But it’s the rage we humans feel from seeing our loved ones in pain that will destroy you...!

シレーヌ
「ば…馬鹿なことを…!」
Sirene: Th...That’s ridiculous...!

(Kallen moves toward Sirene.)

シレーヌ
「…!」
Sirene: ...!

カレン
「血も涙もないデーモン…!
あんたたちは絶対に許さないッ!」
Kallem: We’ll never forgive you...! You cold-blooded Demon...!

(Kallen attacks Sirene.)

シレーヌ
「ぎゃああああーっ!」
Sirene: GYAAAAH!

カイム
「シレーヌ…!」
Kaim: Sirene...!

(Sousuke’s Lambda Driver activates.)

宗介
「よくも、千鳥を…」
Sousuke: For what you did to Chidori...

(Sousuke moves towards Sirene.)

宗介
「消えろおおおおーっ!!」
Sousuke: DISAPPEAAAAR!!

シレーヌ
「くっ…!?」
Sirene: AH...!?

カイム
「シレーヌゥゥゥゥ!!」
Kaim: SIREEEEENE!!

(Kaim pushes Sirene out of the way and takes Sousuke’s attack. Kaim is knocked to the edge of the map.)

カイム
「ぐはっ…!」
Kaim: Guwah...!

シレーヌ
「カ、カイム…!?」
Sirene: K-Kaim...!?

ミサト
「仲間を庇った…?」
Misato: Her ally protected her...?

(Sirene moves towards Kaim.)

シレーヌ
「カイム! 何故!?」
Sirene: Kaim! Why!?

カイム
「逃げろ…この場は退くんだ…。
早く…っ!」
Kaim: Run away... Get out of here... Hurry...!

シレーヌ
「わ、わかった…」
Sirene: A-Alright...

(Sirene and Kaim leave the map.)

刹那
「逃がしたか…」
Setsuna: They ran...

宗介
「はぁっ…! はぁっ…!」
Sousuke: Haa...! Haa...!

豹馬
「明たち、ものすごい剣幕だったな…」
Hyoma: Akira and the others looked downright scary...

クルツ
「敵からしたら
うまく罠にはめたつもりだったんだろうが…
相手が悪かったわな」
Kurz: The enemy must have thought they were setting a well-placed trap... But they picked the wrong guys to set it for.

クルツ
「ソースケの奴なんて、
カナメが危険にさらされた怒りで、
例の[ラムダ・ドライバ]まで起動させちまうしよ」
Kurz: Sousuke was so angry from Kaname being in danger, he even activated the [Lambda Driver].

キラ
「あんなモノがアーバレストに…
すごい力だった」
Kira: That thing on the Arbalest... It’s power is incredible.

マオ
(オペレーターの精神状態で力場を発生する装置…
今回は運良く発動したようなものね。
試作機とはいえ、なんであんなのが積まれてるんだか)
Mao: (A device that draws power from the operator’s mental state... He was just lucky it even worked this time. But I still can’t begin to imagine why they equipped experimental technology on the Arbalest.)

めぐみ
「それにしても、
まさかデーモン同士が庇い合うなんて…」
Megumi: At any rate, I can scarcely believe a Demon would protect another...

デビルマン
「騙されるな。
奴らは所詮、悪魔。
情けなんて感情からはかけ離れた存在だ」
Devilman: Don’t be fooled. They’re still Demons. Beings completely incapable of emotions like compassion.

カレン
「ええ、それは今回の件でよくわかったわ」
Kallen: Yeah, and this incident’s a damn good example of that.

デビルマン
(…俺が帰ろうなんて思ったばかりに。
牧村家のみんな…すまない)
Devilman: (...I was a fool for thinking I could go home. Makimura family... I’m sorry.)


(Scene changes to a cave.)


シレーヌ
「大丈夫、カイム?」
Sirene: Are you alright, Kaim?

カイム
「ああ…これぐらいで死にはしない…」
Kaim: Yes... I won’t die from this...

シレーヌ
「しばらくは傷を治すのに専念して。
そして共にデビルマンを倒すのよ」
Sirene: Think only of healing your wounds for now. Then, we will defeat Devilman together.

カイム
「…悪いが、君と一緒に行動することはできない」
Kaim: ...I’m sorry, but I won’t be able to help you with that.

(Someone approaches.)

???
「敗北したな、カイム」
???: So you were defeated, Kaim.

シレーヌ
「貴様は邪魔大王国の…!」
Sirene: You’re one of those Jamatai Empire bastards...!

イキマ
「約束は覚えておるな?」
Ikima: You remember our contract?

カイム
「ああ…」
Kaim: Yes...

シレーヌ
「約束?
なんのことだ?」
Sirene: Contract? What does he mean?

イキマ
「そいつは、此度の戦いで
我らから兵を借りるためにその頭を垂れ、
こう約束したのだ」
Ikima: He bowed his head to us to borrow troops for this battle, and made a promise.

イキマ
「必ずデビルマンを討ち取り、
もし失敗した場合はその生命を捧げるとな」
Ikima: He swore that he would kill Devilman without fail, but in the event he should in fact fail, then he would offer up his very life to us.

シレーヌ
「なっ…!?」
Sirene: Wha...!?

カイム
「………」
Kaim: ...

シレーヌ
「カ、カイム…
お前はデーモンの誇りがありながら、
私とデビルマンの戦いのために…」
Sirene: K-Kaim... You are a proud Demon and yet... For my sake, to fight Devilman...

カイム
「悔いはない」
Kaim: I have no regrets.

カイム
「さあ、俺の生命が欲しければ持っていけ」
Kaim: Now, if you want my life, then take it.

イキマ
「いや、そのつもりはない」
Ikima: No, that is not what I intend.

カイム
「なにっ!?」
Kaim: What!?

イキマ
「元より我が女王ヒミカ様は、
貴様の覚悟を見極めることが目的だったのだ」
Ikima: Queen Himika’s aim was to ascertain the true extent of your resolve from the very beginning.

イキマ
「それにデーモンといえど、
お前程の武人を失うのは惜しい」
Ikima: And while you may be a Demon, a warrior of your stature is too valuable to lose.

シレーヌ
「見逃すというのか…?」
Sirene: You would overlook this...?

イキマ
「ヒミカ様の御心に感謝するのだな」
Ikima: You should be grateful to Lady Himika’s generosity.

カイム
「ああ…この借りはいずれ返そう」
Kaim: Yes... And I will make certain to repay it.

カイム
「行こう、シレーヌ」
Kaim: Let’s go, Sirene.

シレーヌ
「ええ」
Sirene: Yes.

(Kaim and Sirene leave.)

イキマ
(フフ…これで良い。
あのカイムというデーモン、
今回受けた恩を忘れることはあるまい)
Ikima: (Haha... Excellent. The Demon Kaim will never forget the debt he owes us now.)

イキマ
(いずれ利用させてもらうぞ。
我ら邪魔大王国が地上征服するためにな…)
Ikima: (And we will use it to our advantage. So that our great Jamatai Empire may conquer the surface...)


(Scene changes to a night sky.)


かなめ
「あたし、みんなに迷惑かけちゃったみたいね…。
ごめん」
Kaname: I guess I ended up causing everyone a lot of trouble... I’m sorry.

宗介
「いや、君は何も悪くない。
それよりも無事で良かった」
Sousuke: No, you didn’t do anything wrong. What’s more important is that you’re unhurt.

かなめ
「うん…」
Kaname: Yeah...

カレン
「…あんたは、何も言わずに
家を出ちゃって良かったの?」
Kallen: ...Are you sure you want to leave your home without saying anything?

明
「手紙は置いてきた。
ま、心配かけるだろうが、
今日みたいな危険な目に遭わせるよりはマシさ」
Akira: I left a letter behind. Well, I’m sure they’re still going to worry, but after the danger they went through today, this is for the better.

刹那
「またデーモンが狙ってくる可能性はないのか?」
Setsuna: Is there a chance the Demons could target them again?

明
「シレーヌのプライドを考えたら、
一度失敗した作戦を二度取ることはない。
その点は大丈夫なはずだ」
Akira: Knowing Sirene, her pride won’t allow her to attempt a strategy that failed a second time. They should be alright.

「それに遅かれ早かれ、
あの家は出て行かなければならなかった」
Ryo: And sooner or later, you were going to have to leave that house anyways.

明
「ああ…」
Akira: Yeah...

ロックオン
「お前さんは?」
Lockon: Who’s this?

カレン
「飛鳥了って言って、
さっきの襲撃であたしたちを助けてくれた。
明の幼馴染みだって」
Kallen: He’s Ryo Asuka. He saved us during the attack earlier. He’s also a long-time friend of Akira.

「それに、明を地獄に引きずり込んだ
張本人でもある」
Ryo: And the reason Akira was dragged into hell.

かなめ
「じ、地獄?」
Kaname: H-Hell?

明
「なに、デビルマンにしたって意味さ」
Akira: What he means is that I became Devilman because of him.

「さっきは助かったぜ、了。
タイミングが良すぎるぐらいだったけどな」
Akira: You really saved us back there, Ryo. In fact, your timing was almost too good.

「そんな風に言うな。
これでもお前が牧村邸に帰ったと知って、
万が一に備えて急いだんだぜ」
Ryo: I’d rather you didn’t talk like that. When I’d learned that you had returned to the Makimura residence, I prepared for the worst to happen as quickly as I could.

「明、俺は引き続きデーモンどもの動きを探る。
何かあれば連絡する」
Ryo: I’ll continue looking into the Demon’s movements, Akira. If I discover anything, I’ll contact you.

「…了、無茶な頼みだとわかっているが、
ひとつ頼みがある」
Akira: ...Ryo. It’s an unreasonable one, but I have a request for you.

「牧村邸にも目を光らせておいてくれ、だな?
わかっている」
Ryo: Keep an eye on the Makimura residence? Yeah, I know.

Akira: Thanks.

Akira: (Miki, I’m separating myself from you for your own sake.)

Researcher: Doctor... This is...

「こんな場所にこれ程の設備があるとは…」
Dr. Morimori: I didn’t think they had so much equipment here...

もりもり博士
「研究所のデータに隠されていた、
兜十蔵博士の遺産…本当だったようだな」
Dr. Morimori: Dr. Juzo Kabuto’s legacy, hidden in this laboratory’s data... Turns out it was all true.

もりもり博士
「施設内の調査を急がせるんじゃ。
情報に間違いがなければ、ここには…」
Dr. Morimori: We need to expedite our investigation of this facility. If our information is accurate, this place should—

「では私たちがその調査を手伝ってやろう」
???: Then please, allow us to help with the investigation.

もりもり博士
「…!?」
Dr. Morimori: ...!?
