- The Board:
- An 11x11 grid
- The Game:
- Each turn, a player moves one of their pieces. Their aim is to claim victory either by killing the entire opposing army or having one of their pieces occupy the central square for five consecutive turns.
- The Armies:
- Men
- Number – 11
- Position – Filling the back row
- Movement – Up to 3 spaces in any direction. Can change direction mid-movement
- Kill - When an enemy piece is flanked on opposite sides by Men at the end of any turn, it is killed.
- Dwarves
- Number – 11
- Position – Filling the back row
- Movement – Up to 3 spaces in a cardinal direction
- Kill – When a line of Dwarves is immediately parallel to a line of enemy pieces at the end of any turn, and the number of Dwarves is greater than the number of enemy pieces, all enemy pieces in the line are killed.
- Orcs
- Number - 5
- Position – Along the back row with a space between each piece
- Movement – Up to 3 spaces forward, left, or right. An orc piece may move backwards only when there is an enemy piece behind it.
- Kill – An Orc may kill an enemy piece by moving onto a space occupied an enemy piece.
- Giant
- Number – 1
- Position – Any space on the back row
- Movement – 4 spaces in any direction
- Kill – At the end of its turn, the Giant may kill one adjacent piece.
