  1. Jump #147: Dahak Chronicles
  2. >The Hermit (A need of understanding and advice, or a wise man who will offer knowing guidance.)
  3. >Location: Somewhere on Earth
  4. >Identity: Counter-Mutineer (-100)
  5. Well, at least I'm not LITERALLY HITLER BECAUSE HITLER WAS AN ALIEN AND A MUTINEER. Seriously, the fuck, David Weber.
  6. >Drawbacks: Anu's Attention (+300)
  7. Aaand first priority is to make myself disappear so a city doesn't get nuked to take me out, or something.
  8. >Bridge Officer Descendent (800)
  9. I'm not entirely certain it makes sense to be a bridge officer descendent as a counter-mutineer- wait a minute, aren't they still the original crew, not their descendents? Or was that just the mutineers?
  10. >To Make History (600)
  11. Couple this with Strategic Genius and I could probably plan the course of history for hundreds of years for an entire civilization, more or less.
  12. >Resource Management (Free, Counter-Mutineer)
  13. Logistics is more important than anyone gives it credit for. An army marches on its stomach.
  14. >4th Imperium Cybernetics (400, Counter-Mutineer)
  15. And suddenly I know how to design a transmat, a fold-space communicator, and basically all the Imperium things that aren't guns. Useful! I'll have to find a way to make sure there's some sort of filter for biological material on transmats though. Don't need that swine flu making everyone sick.
  16. >Implanter (0)
  17. And suddenly my ability to do all of that increases exponentially. Oh yes.
  18. >Item Budget: Counter-Mutineer (+400)
  19. Imperial Remnant factions gain a special bonus of 400 CP just for items.
  20. >Basic Implants (300)
  21. Bend steel? Live for centuries? I'm pretty sure I can already do all these things. But I need it anyway.
  22. >Fold-Space Communicator (200)
  23. I already know how to make these, but what the heck, having it built into my implants would be handy.
  24. >Bridge Officer Implants (0, Bridge Officer Descendent)
  25. If memory serves, these implants are concentrated bullshit. Yes, please.
  26.
  27. So... basically, my plan is to wait until Dahak grabs the captain-to-be, then make contact with Dahak, explain to the AI the situation (hi, I was edited into the universe, and I'm here to help and I can prove it) and take up duties as executive officer. Once that's done, the idea is to kick the plot into overdrive - there's too much that relies on plot and timing, and I can game it just well enough with my precognition to skip unnecessary steps (here's where that Anu asshole is, this is the best time to strike him, these are the options, what are your orders captain?) and basically do everything that I can do to advise.
  28.
  29. I may also bootstrap Dahak and varied Imperial tech with other techs from outside of the jump, but... this is a slight thing, not a major one. But otherwise... let Macintyre do what he's going to do. He needs a good right hand man, and I have every intention of ensuring that happens.
