- Mike's childhood was like all the males of his lineage, taken to the library to learn about the world and taught the Religion of the Hero of Light when he was home. These legends past down by word of mouth.
- His Grandfather had once traveled with the Hero god, they had been there for many of the battles the hero had fought in. Been there to watch as the Hero gained their divinity. He had been his first Bard and eventually their first pastor. Hence his stories were told to his son, and now that son was teaching his own son. While not everyone believed the Hero God was truly a god his father believed he was, having said he had met him once, he just had a this air to him the screamed godhood.
- He had grown to love these stories, and he believed the events happened but surely they were embellished a bit. Regardless he had faith in his father's words and his grandfather's words as well. It was do to these stories that he had grown up wanting to help people. The Hero inspired him to try his best to do what he could brighten this world with kindness and try to inspire others to be the best them that they be. I didn't matter if the hero was a god or not to him. They were mortal before, if they truly did become a god then that just should be more inspiration to follow in his foot steps.
- He studied as hard as he could growing up. His mind having always consumed info at a quick rate, remembering what was stored in there, at times depending on subjects that truly interested him they'd be photographic. While not studying he was using his mind to form stories, and tales, and dwell on what lessons each story had. Sometime he even try to apply what he learned from various books, be them magical in nature or more mundane. By the age of nine he had already delved deeply into alchemy, branching off into furthering his concoctions by simply breaking components with chemistry.
- He spent most of his teen years studying, making things with the knowledge he had learned through out his child hood. He'd become known for aiding thous in needs, and being a general handy-man kind of person. Fixing basic electrical issues and aiding in Arcane matters as well. Though his live would eventually change with the death of his father.
- His old man had become rather sick, which Michael couldn't do anything but watch as he eventually withered away. It hadn't mattered what methods he had used to try to cure this sickness, it had just been like something had been draining his life force away. And it hadn't seemed contagious either as neither him nor his grandfather had gotten ill after his passing. Michael had continued his normal side jobs but took over his father's role as pastor for the believers of the Hero god.
- The first five months of the new position had been filled with doubt. Unsure he'd be able to inspire the people with the stories that had been told to him over through his life about the hero. While So many had been told not all of them were known. He tried his best to pick up where his father had left but they just didn't seem to work . His grandfather had been there to try to guide him into his own way of telling the stories. Eventually he had gotten Michael to start back from the earliest story he could remember and start from there. He had given him words that would stick with him for life. “Each prophet has to tell the stories as if they'd been there.”
- Starting that day he began telling the stories from the beginning, telling the stories again but with detail that brought the followers imagination along for the ride. He could remember each time he'd been told the stories either by his father or grandfather. His father's approach had always been as recounting something old and nearly forgotten while his grandfather's details and expressions had always told a more vivid story, as if it had just happened the other day.
- His flock had waned and grown over the two years since he had taken this role. While not giving sermons he generally went about his life helping others where he could as well as working on projects. He was an inspired man after all. He had his own goals in life, finding out what it was that had killed his father, as well as finding a way to prolong his own life so he wouldn't meet the same fate. The way his father had died had felt beyond anything man or monsterkind could cause to happen.
- His days off consisted of him in his room which over the years had been a sight of many experiments, the room/lab had quite a few machines and arcane instruments about it's area. Some of the results of his curiosity were on display but one sat in a steel box. The dust on it made it out to not been touched in quiet some time. He moved over to it as he pressed a button on the box. It began opening up as cold vapors filed out of it. Out slowly rose out two vials. One filled with a black liquid, and the other filled with a Red vial. They were both samples of his father's blood. One that was days before he died and the other was after he had died.
- He had been curious why the change in color but he had felt the same dread from it when he had first seen it. The black inky liquid seemed to be so thick that itself was the void. He looked away from it. “One day. . . I will understand what took you” He muttered before putting them back. Closing the box and sighed. He had to keep reminding himself of why he pushed on with his research, it would give him closure , and even save life if he could find out how it functioned . But for now he needed to focus researching such an ailment. Surely there was something somewhere.
