And 'they met with an amazing sight: the surrounding trees and shrubs were filled with all manner of birds and animals sitting peacefully together side by side, even those that were usually enemies. The king and Olofer gaped in astonishment. And then they looked towards the mouth of the cave and saw the Yelping Beast. They gazed in wonder at its neck, pulsating with colors beyond any man's counting. It was with this dazzling display that the beast deceived its beholders, as this history has told before; and so entranced were the king and Olofer that they forgot all else, and the cursed beast flung itself at Olofer and tore his guts from his belly, ripped his body asunder and swept away through the forest, yelping wildly.
