- background: in 1994, kang sangwon and song jinmi moved to new york, wanting to start a family in america rather than stay in korea. sadly, they could not afford to live in a different new york borough, so the couple decided to stay in bushwick. despite living in a fairly poor area, eleanor was brought into the world on september 24, 1996, with two loving parents. as a young child growing up in the city, life was pretty different for eleanor and she learned to live by a set of unspoken rules that somehow everyone in bushwick knew about; don’t walk around at night alone, kids should be inside by 7, don’t go into the strange italian market unless you know the family who owns it, and so on. luckily, eleanor was blessed with a good education, going to a nice elementary school and middle school, trying her best to get good grades and stay out of trouble. by the time she was in highschool, it wasn’t uncommon to go around the corner and find someone dealing drugs, hearing about another break in, or get something stolen at school. during a sleepover the summer of freshman year (june 18th if you want to be exact), elle’s mother was fatally stabbed and killed in a robbery. the police say the man was on drugs when he approached song jinmi and asked for a few bucks, and when she refused, he plunged his knife into her abdomen six times, leaving her to bleed out. when her mother passed, elle turned to stealing and pranking with her new friends to cope with her mother’s murder. soon, stealing turned into conning people and manipulating them to get money. strangely, elle didn’t feel guilty about this new life she was living. she felt powerful and was the happiest she had ever been since before her mom passed. towards the end of her sophomore year in highschool, she grew very ill, having to stay home for two weeks. during those two weeks she experienced hell, imagining watching her mother getting stabbed, getting caught for her crimes, and going to prison. one evening, while her dad was at work and younger sister at school, elle rushed to the bathroom and quickly fell to her knees as she hurled up the food she had eaten last night. standing to her feet, she grabbed her toothbrush and looked in the mirror, letting out a loud scream at what she saw. standing there was not a teenage korean girl, but instead one of her hispanic friends, sav. she quickly rubbed her eyes, trying to make sense of all of this as her heartbeat quickened. although she hasn’t yet made sense of her powers completely, she has learned how to control them a lot better and is very grateful to have them, as they help her with her pranks and allow her to not get caught. (ahhhh this sucks! i tried to perceive her more as a villain rather than a hero because of how mischievous she is, but add some hero aspects to her like the classic parent/guardian death! i hope you like it)

- personality: eleanor is overall a fun person to be around at first, playing innocent pranks on you but soon moves up the ladder to pranks that will purposely get under your skin. she is generally kind to those who she can use. if you’re going to take something from someone, might as well be sneaky and make them think you’re their friend, right? she is also a very sassy and witty girl who is often heard cracking sarcastic jokes or talking back to the teacher, questioning their reasoning. aside from all the fun and games, she is very eager to learn about not only her own powers, but others as well. elle is very open minded, curious, and is always up for a challenge. she does have a soft spot for dogs and those who are extremely close to her, like her family and teammates. most people would see her as a troublemaker or a bitch, but she just sees herself as someone who views the world as her own playground!

- what do you think of your team: “my team?” eleanor tilted her head to the side and looked up, trying to find the right words for them. “the healer chick seems nice, but too nice. she’s weak and should learn to be a little more abrasive to protect herself, but she’ll learn that.” she crossed her arms, scoffing once she remembered the only male in her team. “the boy… he’s a strange one, that’s for sure! oh, and don’t forget distracting! we’re a very strange team, but i think it’ll all work out!” (i hope you don’t mind me writing the response in this format)
