  1. __The Ultimate #card-ideas Guide__
  2. **Welcome to #card-ideas ! Here are a couple tips on card-making, formatting, and the #1 rule of this place!**
  3.
  4. **Card-Making**
  5. When designing a new card, there are 3 major things to consider.
  6. **1. Ability:** Abilities are arguably the most fun part of making a card, but also the hardest.
  7. *a. Loops*. Does the ability loop? With itself? Or another card? For example, “Dino-Roar: This does a bonus attack”, would loop with Party Thyme until you have a full hand.
  8. *b. Wording*. Make sure your ability is easy to understand and is worded correctly. Don’t add those extra awkward words to explain it, the shorter the better, but you also want it to make sense. Also make sure the ability goes with the plant. If I make Chili Bean, making it Freeze zombies makes no sense.
  9. *c. Gameplay*. There are a couple rules of gameplay to remember. Anything that isn’t “When Played/When Revealed” must be random. Zombies technically attack first in game. Abilities go”Environment-Zombie-Plant” in any given lane. Also make sure the ability isn’t niche.
  10. **Important: If designing a card from another game, such as PvZ2, IT DOES NOT HAVE TO MATCH THE ABILITY!! This can be seen with Hot Potato, Magnet Shroom, etc.**
  11.
  12. **2. Existing Cards:** When designing a card, you must take existing cards into account too. We’ve already gone over Loops, but there are a few more things to consider.
  13. *a. Powercreeping*. This means it is better than an existing card of the same class, cost, and usually tribe. Make sure your card does not powercreep any existing cards. Cosmic Pea cannot be 2/2 because then it would powercreep Repeater.
  14. *b. Combos*. Certain existing cards restrict card designing. We cannot make a board Freeze Plant because Winter Squash exists. Make sure your card does not make game-breaking combos with another card.
