What is Radiance?

We don't know exactly what it is or how it interacts with reality. We do know the following:

It is very receptive to being used as a power source. However, without a guiding mind it has truly unpredictable results. An attempt at an unmanned  power plant turned into a mass of random elements.

To the guiding mind it communicates many things. Only some of those things can be understood and of the things understood only some can be described in words.

It responds to the guiding mind. Not just the conscious mind but emotions, deeply buried desires, and so on.

It can be steered by the guiding mind but not fully controlled. Pilots compare it to riding an animal that is also a wave of energy.

It is amplified by emotion and in some rare cases amplifies emotion.

It can change the merely physical. Radiance powered mechs have a tendency to take on a form suitable to the pilot. Many pilots have had their bodies altered.

It almost certainly is not from this reality. It was discovered as part of a not quite successful dimensional experiment.
