  1. ideas for Adstri's Realistic Kerbol.
  2.
  3. Kerbol: make nearly identical to RSS Sun. Planetary orbits will be exactly 11 times the stock orbits, and the luminosity of Kerbol will be scaled such that Kerbin gets exactly the same illumination as Earth.
  4.
  5. Moho: Combine Mercury's unique "weird terrain" (wrinkles from mercury's shrinking) with its moon-like maria. Highlands will be pale brown, lowlands lunar dark gray. Maybe: Give it a thin, hot atmosphere and some volcanoes and tectonic rifts. This may not be super realistic, but it definitely fits the idea behind Moho (which was to be a lava world originally!) while also keeping its modern stock and mercury-like appearance. Give it a spanus (space anus)! http://i.imgur.com/mAmtP.jpg reference is available in Alternis Kerbol Rekerjiggered. It can be small (as big as the 0.17-era stock scale volcano but on a much larger planet) so it's more of an easter egg.
  6.
  7. Eve: Gray terrain--tinted purple by the ambient atmosphere and with slight specs of purple in places. A super-Kerbin mass planet, Eve is a hot world with five atmospheres of pressure in the form of helium, hydrogen, nitrogen, methane and other gaseous hydrocarbons, ammonia, water vapor, and carbon monoxide and dioxide. This toxic mixture of gasses has lead to the creation of reddish smog in the planet's atmosphere, which when colored by rayleigh and methane-absorption blue, produces a violet planet. The seas of hydrocarbon-rich tar are fuming with all sorts of useful rocket fuel compounds, and of course the lakes and seas themselves are quite combustible too, when a suitable oxidizer is provided. Lakes are a dark purple-gray.
  8.
  9. Gilly is the only moon of Eve. If Faz exists at all, it is a near-Eve asteroid.
  10.
  11. Kerbin: biomes will be based upon a realistic climate model (either hand-made or simulated). Coastlines will be mostly identical to stock Kerbin, but mountains may be at a much smaller scale, there may be more rivers, and the giant impact crater will either be gone or much reduced in size to something more reasonable. Terrain could be based either on an 8K libnoise export or on a very high detail hand-made map. Kerbin will have exactly 1 G of surface gravity, and may have a radius slightly over 6000 km. (say, 6102 or 6098, but not all the way up to 6371). Its (solar day) rotation period will be 24 hours. (It ought to be either 18 or 20, but I think it makes sense) Its orbit will be tuned to ensure it lasts exactly one sidereal Earth year. This is so that the stock Earth-time system will work for Kerbin.
  12.
  13. Mun: The last version I saw looks too... chaotic... to be a Moon analogue. And needs to have bright ejecta in most craters (though subtle for most) or else it will look unrealistic and just... wrong.
  14.
  15. Minmus: keep all the flats in roughly the same places. Flats aren't perfectly flat, but are very flat and level with few interruptions. Terrain could be modelled on a rocky equivalent of Pluto, with convection cell terrain being replaced with a flatter version of lunar maria-like terrain. Boundaries between flats and highlands could be similar to the chaotic terrain between sputnik planitia and the highlands. Small, sparse craters dot the highlands, just as on Pluto. Minmus is a geologically fairly new world, but is currently geologically fairly dead. Colors may be much subtler? Something like this: https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/619367576027267092/649092300882051154/unknown.png
  16.
  17. Harvest: Not completely sold on this, but especially in combination with that asteroid that has an orbit that goes between Harvest and Kerbin, it could be very cool. Could be like a cross between Ceres and a more spherical Vesta, with the big deep craters shown in the WIP pics.
  18.
  19. Duna: https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/609803458828173327/619187944045019136/328px-South_Pole_Terrain.png polar terrain could be very different, similar to the above link stuff on Mars? Terrain will be more orange than Mars but less red than Duna, as here: https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/609803458828173327/619327382616014868/unknown.png
  20.
  21. Ike: Stock heightmap is just noise, get rid of it. Base new heightmap off of existing color map, but add more detail, healthy craters. Dark maria have fewer craters, lighter highlands have more, just as on Mun/Moon.
  22.
  23. Duna can have a few asteroid moons beyond Ike, perhaps analagous in orbit to the small moons of Pluto. Call them Rimos and Debos, or something.
  24.
  25. Dres: I like your dres revamp. Not much room for improvement except maybe make sure the detail's good up close and maybe make it a little brighter (just because we lack exposure adjustment in KSP cameras)
  26.
  27. Jool system: chlorinated planet? If so, would imply the whole system is chlorine-rich, and thus Laythe's atmosphere might be cyan or greenish as well, with salty bleach seas and a toxic but oxygen-rich atmosphere. Maybe Vall's blue color can be explained by some chlorine-rich chemical? Worth looking into chlorine ices and other solid chlorine stuff.
  28.
  29. Jool orbits: preserve order and size of moons, instead of the resonance. Jool should not be made much more massive than about 2 Jupiter masses if possible, ideally keep it very close to 1 Jupiter mass.
  30.
  31. Laythe: Mostly islands. No landmasses bigger than the ones on the original map, but there may be many more smaller islands. No big landmasses. Orbit period will be identical to Io's.
  32.
  33. Vall: two types of terrain. On the Jool-facing side, the terrain is defined by broad plains with far-spaced cracks (like your 2nd Vall revamp) while the far side is defined by smaller scale terrain (like your 1st Vall revamp). IMPORTANTLY, each ridge is not a single ridge/peak, but two, with a trench running through them, as on Europa: https://spaceplace.nasa.gov/review/europa/europa-surface-close.jpg Ridges can overlap. Add cycloids? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j3LXPmiEB-w
  34.
  35. Tylo: Extremely thin atmosphere.
  36.
  37. Bop: Even though we could move Bop to avoid instability, I think it would be neat to make it Retrobop as in principia.
  38.
  39. Bop and Pol: Move them outwards such that Bop's orbit is comparable to Jupiter's moon Himalia, and Pol's orbit is raised by the same amount. (The ratio of Bop and Pol's periods will be the same between stock and the revamped version, but they'll both be much further out)
  40.
  41. There's also room for more moons here. Could do something like Amalthea in a low orbit as long as Laythe doesn't interfere with it too much. I'd be okay if you used the names Ameli, Kev, and Gobe from RevSSS for additional moons.
  42.
  43. Eeloo: moved to be a trans-napfurd object just like Pluto. The whole body is a sputnik world, like Eris is hypothesized to be. Covered in nitrogen ice convection cells with mountains of floating water ice perched on top. Convection cell reference: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/e/e8/Troughs_in_Sputnik_Planum_by_LORRI_-_crop_of_PIA19936.jpg/800px-Troughs_in_Sputnik_Planum_by_LORRI_-_crop_of_PIA19936.jpg Floating mountains reference: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/a/ad/NH-Pluto-SputnikPlanum-HillaryMontes-NorgayMontes-20150714.jpg Regions which are highlands on the stock Eeloo map will be represented by terrain which is like the more solid icy terrain of Pluto, such as the snakeskin terrain: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/8/88/Snakeskin_terrain_covering_Tartarus_Dorsa.png/1280px-Snakeskin_terrain_covering_Tartarus_Dorsa.png and the area around Wright Mons: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/1/1d/Pluto_possible_cryovolcano_-_Wright_Mons.jpg/800px-Pluto_possible_cryovolcano_-_Wright_Mons.jpg Throughout Eeloo are Europa-like tectonic faults (which are in the same locations as on the stock Eeloo heightmap, but as on Vall, consist of a ridge with a central trough rather than just a trench.
  44.
  45. Eeloo has the potential to be one of the best bodies in the mod because direct reference from Pluto's heightmap can be used. Eeloo could have some small moons, but nothing big and round.
