- Zenith Street
- Not much broader than the various alleys that split off and wend away into darkness, but ostensibly wide enough to warrant labeling, this path is identifiable as "Zenith St" due to a faded and peeling plaque affixed to one of the grim, doorless houses that line the sides as they do everywhere in this place. More darkened alleys diverge left and right like gaps between teeth, and ahead the street grows darker and darker, as if cast in shadow despite the overcast twilit sky being constant above.
- Azimuth Lane
- A cracked and faded plaque affixed to a nearby building denotes this narrow stretch of cobblestoned road to be "Azimuth Ln". Tall, grim buildings rise high on either side, their forbidding windows far above a suitable height to peer into. There are no doors visible allowing entry into any of them- the only way off this darkened lane is the claustrophobic alleys that diverge here and there between houses. Toward the end of the lane, the way descends into darkness impossible to navigate through, despite the ever-present twilight glow from the overcast sky.
- A moonlit rock spire
- About fifteen paces across, this rocky plateau is flat and smooth, seeming almost too level to have formed naturally. The edge of the roughly circular area descends sharply on all sides into an utterly vertiginous drop, your location revealing itself to be the very top of an inconcievably tall stone spire, a sea of clouds far below obscuring any base, if there is indeed one anywhere near enough to see. Overhead, the sky is a tapestry of glimmering stars, and an enormous full moon casts a pallid glow on everything. Though there are no other evident signs of life, a peculiar tree seems to have sprouted just offcenter atop this rocky pinnacle, skeletal limbs supporting sparse, glossy black leaves and tiny white blossoms, some of which have fallen and scatter the rock below.
- an endless library
- Cold cobblestones give way to lush carpeting and without fanfare you find yourself standing amidst the stacks of an enormous library. The shelves extend to the low ceiling on either side, every available space packed with tomes of different sizes and states of repair, as well as scrolls and bundled sheafs of loose paper. The walkways between the stacks- not too much wider than is absolutely required to pass amongst them- twist and split off in an utterly labyrinthine manner, here and there running into dead-ends and small alcoves with overloaded desks but in no instance leading to anything that could be regarded as an exit to this unfathomable locale.
- a dusty hollow
- Cradled in the roots of an accommodating tree, this earthy hollow seems a natural formation of dirt and plantlife. Not quite tall enough to stand in, but with room for a few to comfortably sit, it is warm and comfortingly dim, with a dusty floor that has been scattered with dry leaf litter. Here and there, the pale green of small shoots add a little hint of life to the secluded place, and at one end of the hole there is an opening, possibly large enough to crawl out of. The view beyond is dim and grey, a forestal scene softened by soothingly drumming rain which adds its refreshing scent to the earthier tones that surround you.
- an ethereal whispering forest
- Though easily identifiable as a forest of some description, this location has a strange, ethereal feeling to it. The trees that surround you are tall and pale, and though upon close inspection they seem as normal as can be, they seem to flicker at the edge of sight with cast shadows and images. The pallor of the canopy above and the whitish cast of the grass underfoot lends the entire area a somewhat ghostly feel, washed of the colour and vibrancy that one would usually expect from a natural location. Rather than birdsong and the rustling of animal life, you detect faint whispers, half-heard voices and snatches of song that seem to drift in and out of perception, the sources conspicuously absent from view.
