- It has been some time now since the attacks from Lixoal's followers. Things seem to finally be settling down. But Sally for her part never stopped working. To her, this lull in activity was nothing but a calm before the storm and in her own words she was 'going to spend the time preparing'. As for the rest of you, You were all on standby. In other words...
- You had absolutely jack all to do.
- Saya and Jane were keeping up with school. To top things off, Jane had to keep you from meeting her parents for now, as they were both raving about you with her father wanted to rip your head off and her mother trying to remind him of how good you clean rooms.
- It was odd.
- Sadie went about her regular police duties. Thanks to her, the regular criminals weren't much of a problem. She and Mireille hadn't really hit it off too well so far, but Sadie wasn't shooting her as many looks of contempt as she normally did...so progress?
- Sanja and Helena continued going to work and doing their regular routines, which meant Helena was being a mother and Sanja would habitually get drunk after work. You were really wondering how her liver was even still functioning, but you just chalked it up to your powers being at work.
- Tim (and sometimes Hazel) just went to school.
- As for you...well...you were kind of confined to the house. You didn't have money of your own and you didn't have anything else to do. You'd go on patrols sometimes, but that was proving to be an ultimately fruitless endeavor with Sadie and the local police doing a good job.
- This all changed when your communicator went off with a message from Sally.
- "Everyone, meet me at the lab. I made a breakthrough."
- You are Red Meteor. And you suddenly have a bad feeling about this...
- >Sally what's going on
- >What do you mean breakthrough
- >This is going to end with us nearly dying isn't it?
- >Other/Write-in
- >This is going to end with us nearly dying isn't it?
- "You're the ones wanting to be super heroes. Just get over here already." Sally growls before hanging up
- You sigh before heading out to the back of Sadie's house and transforming. Whatever Sally has going on, you aren't sure you're gonna like it, but once she sets her mind to something, there's no stopping her.
- You quickly make your way downtown, you're used to people stopping to marvel as you leap over them or land in the streets for a quick second before taking off again. Before long you've arrived at Sally's place. She's making you take the back entrance now, says that'll have less odds of people seeing you and connecting her to you and your friends.
- A quick ride up the elevator and you've arrived at the familiar office with several computers laid out in front of you. It's about an hour or so before everyone else shows up, but once everyone is present, Sally begins to speak.
- "It's good you all got here." Sally starts
- "Well you said you made a breakthrough. What do you mean exactly?" Helena asks
- "Basically...I may have found the base of where those freaks of nature were coming from."
- At this all of your eyes go wide in shock.
- "How the hell were you able to do that?!" Saya exclaims
- "It was hard, but whenever those weirdos showed up, they left behind some sort of energy reading. It took some doing, but I managed to track it down after they disappeared the last time. Needless to say, they're coming from another dimension."
- "Well yeah, we kinda figured that when the dragon showed up out of bumfuck nowhere." Jane deadpans
- "Anyway, Sally growls I managed to rig up my old dimensional transporter to send you their base. Get in there and take them out before they decide to try anything else. They may have not done anything recently, but that only means they're planning something big."
- >Let's go everyone
- >Wait you have a dimensional transporter?!
- >Give us 24 hours, we need to prepare
- >Other/Write-in
- >Why have you got a dimensional transporter already?
- >We're not going to be spliced into each other are we?
- What. What.
- "Why do you have a dimensional transporter *already*?!" you shout
- "Hey, I like to keep busy. Besides, it was broken after a er...earlier endeavor of mine. That doesn't matter though. Not right now at least."
- "We're not going to be spliced into each other are we?" Jane asked
- "No you won't, using it is 96 percent safe."
- "And the...other 4%?" Sadie asked
- "..."
- "........."
- "..................."
- "So, you guys ready go?" Sally asked with a smile
- "Hey, hey, that's avoiding the question!" Sadie howled
- >Let's just go
- >If we die, at least we die together
- >Other/Write-in
- >Wear some extra jackets to give yourself 4% extra mass
- >If we die, at least we die together
- "Wear some extra jackets to give yourself 4% extra mass." You joke
- "That's not funny!" Sadie pouts
- "Yeah yeah, look, bright side is this: If we die, at least we die together."
- "I would rather not die at all." Sanja murmured "But enough talk, let us get this over with."
- "I agree, the sooner we deal with these guys, the sooner we can go back to our regular lives." Helena nodded
- "What about our lives in the recent months has been 'regular?'" Saya snarkily comments
- The girls all continue to banter and argue for a few more minutes before they finally finish and decide to get going for real. Sally leads you all back into the elevator and this time you go down.
- Like all the way down.
- It feels like an eternity until you reach what looks to be a bunker of sorts with a singular machine sitting in the middle of it. You can see that some parts are melted and the occasional bit of sparking here and there.
- "Um...are you sure this is safe?" Mirielle asks
- "It's fine trust me, some parts only look bad,but I ran numerous tests. You're in the clear!" Sally says reassuring her. Sally starts pressing several buttons on the side of the machine and what appears in front of you is an odd blood red portal.
- "Well that's not ominous at all..." Jane mutters
- "Get going, this thing takes up a lot of energy, so I'll have to close it once you all go through!"
- "What about getting back?"
- "I'll be in contact with you, so don't worry! I'll start the machine up once you're ready to come back!"
- The seven of you look at the portal for a moment before you all take a collective deep breath and jump through. It feels...surreal. You feel yourself warping around,y your insides churn, and you swear you could see several different things at once, but just as soon as you're feeling all of this, the feelings stop and you're...somewhere.
- "God that was awful..." Jane groans "I never wanna do that again..."
- Several noises of agreement ring out as you all properly begin to assess your surroundings.
- "What...is this place?" Sadie mutters
- "It feels...dead." You say "Like there's no life at all."
- >No time to wait, lets move
- >Sally, are you there?
- >Other/Write-in
- >No time to wait, lets move
- "No time to wait, let's move...standing around here gives me the creeps."
- The others agree with you, and soon enough you're all traveling along the decrepit roads that is...this place. You said that standing around gave you the creeps, but actively walking through this place is even creepier. There's...NO life here. everything you see is corroded, broken, or in some form of ruin. Several times you all have to stop to just destress from it all.
- "Are we there yet?" Jane groans after a while
- "No." Sadie replies
- "Now?"
- "No."
- Now?"
- "No."
- "No-"
- "Say now again and I'm burning your porn mags."
- "How'd you know I have those?!"
- "You just told me."
- The two go silent after that and the walk continues until you reach a clearing. As soon as you take a step forward you hear a booming voice.
- "So you have come to us,servants of Xumir..."
- Appearing before you is one of the beings who attacked the city. His arms folded as he looks at you all "Perhaps this is a blessing. You all have been a thorn in my master's side. Killing you here will be quite good for our plans."
- "Tch, all talk." Saya grunts "Red, you and the others go on ahead. Jane and I can handle this guy."
- >Don't go dying on me
- >We can't leave you alone!
- >Join them in the fight
- You move to join them. The others backing you up as well.
- "What are you doing?"
- "I can't just leave you two alone. We don't know what this girl is capable of."
- "And yet, you left Jane and Saya alone to face off against the weird devil man thing." Helena chides
- "Can we do this later? I don't think she'll give us much time to grief Red." Sadie mutters getting into a fighting stance
- The five of you transform, ready to take on the girl who has a very unsettling smile on her face as she brandishes her blade.
- "So much life. I cannot wait to ruin it." She says in a singsong voice "Bleed for me servants of Xumir. Bleed all that you have to givee~"
- >Gimme a 5d100+15 Bo3
- >101,114,70,115,103
- The instant you all get ready for a fight, the girl instantly lunges at you all.
- "She's so fast!" Sadie exclaims
- You just barely manage to block the attack aimed at you before kicking her back. Sadie follows up after, blasting her away and into Black Hole...who unfortunately flubs her attack and allows The Officer to regain her balance and deliver a hard slash across her armor, causing several sparks to fly from her being.
- "Take this!" White Moon roars grabbing The Officer by the back and stabbing her through the chest, before sending her to the sky so that Black Asteroid can finish the job by slamming her into the ground.
- For a moment you watch as she lays there limply...before getting up in a creepy manner. She doesn't even put any weight on her body. She just sort of...rises up as seen in an old horror movie. The manic grin on her face even wider than before.
- "You all are so fun. I'm finally getting an actual work out! Stabbing me like that was rather rude though. I'll have to return the favor~". she giggles
- "...We're gonna need a plan. Any ideas Red?" Black Asteroid asks
- "Hit her harder."
- "I like that plan."
- >Another 5d100+15 Bo3
- >62,96,91,114,84
- "No more talking~!" The Officer giggles
- Before you can react, she's on you all again and this time you're too slow to react in time and she delivers a sickening punch to your gut. You just about keel over allowing her to drive her knee into your chin.
- You're sent flying upwards before you come plummeting back down again. Thankfully, seeing this, Blue Comet creates and ice slide, having shifted to her second form to aid in this, as you're sliding down, you watch as Black Hole begins to get a few hits in, she's not holding back either, deliver blows to the chest, head, and whatever else she can get her hands on.
- The officer is thrown into White Moon, who drives her blade into The Officer's waist before bringing it back out, and getting away so that Black Asteroid can tear away with her at with her claws.
- Regaining your composure, you look at The Officer and notice that...her wounds *aren't* bleeding. There's nothing but black...something where White Moon cut, it's the same for the claw marks...because of this, The Officer seems clearly unfazed.
- But annoyed if the frown on her face is anything to go by.
- "That really hurt...I'm going to kill you now. For real." she says in a dark tone, whatever 'fun' she had been having is officially gone now, as her eyes begin to glow red.
- >Roll 5d100+15 Bo3
- >64,104,88,93,80
- She wasn't kidding...
- As soon as she's done speaking The Officer moves back towards you and this time, she doesn't simply slash or kick you. She drives her sword Through your armor.
- "Red!" Sadie shouts blasting her away with ice.
- You stagger back, while catching your breathe. You felt the blade pierce your skin, and you can feel some blood leaving you, but thankfully, she didn't get much further than that before Sadie saved you.
- "Are you alright?" Helena asks running up to you.
- "Y-yeah...yeah I'm fine." You state breathing heavily, the shock of having your armor penetrated that easily.
- Black Hole, Black Asteroid, and Blue Comet, try their best to hold her off, but even with the power of all three of them, they just barely hold her back. You watch and she manages to Grab Black Hole, by the arm and tear a chunk of her armor off before Black Hole can get back a safe distance.
- You've got to end her and quick. There's no way you can keep up a prolonged battle with her!
- >5d100 Bo3
- >92,69,94,62,83
- You dive into action, driving your saber into the woman's open wounds. You summon as much power as you can, attempting to burn her alive, and though you deal significant damage, your blood runs cold as her hands *reach through the flames to and grip you by the neck*. She lifts you off your feet before throwing you like a ragdoll towards Sadie, knocking her off her feet.
- White Moon follows up after you driving her blade through The Officer's stomach, pouring as much power as she can into her attack and while it momentarily stops her, it's not enough to distract her, allowing her to grab Black Hole by the neck as she attempts to attack from the air.
- She then proceeds to grab White Moon as well and slams the two together tearing their armor apart. This time, the chest area of Black Hole becoming noticably cracked, while White Moon's helmet is cracked, the visor hiding her eyes completely shattering.
- The only thing that stops her from dealing more damage is Black Asteroid coming and hitting her with what amounts to a football tackle before helping the other two to their feet. You regroup with them, the exhaustion from the fight starting to creep up on you.
- "Can we even kill her?" Black Hole pants out
- "I...I don't know. But I've got one idea, can the rest of you keep her stalled for a just a little bit?" White moon asks
- You nod to her "We can try, but I hope whatever you're planning will work."
- "I hope so too..."
- >Another 5d100+15 Bo3
- >98,106,102,110,73
- "Okay everyone, just like White Moon said!"
- You, Blue Comet, and Black Asteroid proceed to bum rush The Officer. Due to her wounds, she's not as fast, and so you're all able to latch onto some part of her body as White Moon raises her blade skywards and stands there taking deep breathes.
- "I hope being forced to watch all those episodes of that tv show that Tim liked will pay off..." She mutters
- The rest of you continue holding her in place, you can feel her struggling, and unfortunately, she manages to knock Black Asteroid away, allowing her to regain some strength to begin working her into throwing you off as well.
- "Vous restez juste là, bête révoltante!" you hear as Black Hole creates a black hole directly behind her. The rest of you jump away, letting the force of the black hole keep her in place. The Officer tries to fight against it, but she can't escape the pull of the black hole and White Moon has finished charging her blade.
- "Now *FUCKING DIE ALREADY*!!!" she shouts before pulling off a move from a samurai movie as she dashes foward and severs The Officer's head.
- It's...disgusting to watch as her body spurts out dark ooze before she finally falls over, being sucked into the black hole.
- "I...I think that did it." You say letting out a breathe you didn't know you had been holding in "Good work everyone..."
- >Take it easy for a moment
- >Helena, where did you learn that?
- >Move on
- >Other/Write-in
- >Helena, where did you learn that?
- You turn to Helena, with a look of surprise "Helena, where did you learn that?"
- "Hyper Hero Force 5 Season 7 episode 65. They spend that entire season in Japan and they pick up a few tricks. I'm surprised it worked myself honestly...but I'll admit, I was getting desperate."
- "Huh, so you've actually been listening to your son?" Sanja asks
- "Look, I'm not proud of it, but he's got a much better handle on the super hero thing then I ever could hope to have. And he's been surprisingly on the mark, well him and that little band of friends he has...what did they call themselves...the collective?"
- "The Council." You correct "They're smart, they've not steered me wrong yet."
- The girls all look at you like you've just said something insane, but you pay just roll your eyes.
- "Can you say they haven't?" You retort
- "...Got us there." Sadie laments "Anyway, lets get going. We're getting closer...I can feel it..."
- As the 5 of you continue on down the twisting paths of this freakish world, you notice that Sadie actually falls into step with Mirielle.
- "...Hey." She starts
- "Yes, what is it...sister?"
- Sadie noticeably twitches at those words, but manages to continue on "You okay? You...took a few bad hits there."
- "So did Red."
- "I know, but he's used to it. You're uh...new so...you aren't really as experienced as us. Are you hurt?"
- For a moment, Mirielle raises her eyebrows surprised by the concern, but merely nods "Yes, I am okay...thank you."
- "Yeah...yeah that's um...that's good. Don't want you getting hurt."
- "Oh...um thanks."
- The two continue their awkward conversation before you reach another clearing.
- "Why do I not like this..." Helena sighs
- As if on cue, another being appears in front of you.
- "So the Officer has fallen. Let me be the first to thank you. I did not enjoy her much. That aside, I am afraid that this is where you will fall."
- Oh goddammit...
- "Another one. We can't waste anymore time here. Red, go on ahead. We'll hold him off here." Sadie said
- "I'm not leaving you alone! You saw how hard it was to take one of them down!"
- "We do not need to kill him...only distract him. If we defeat his master, he will surely fall." Mirielle states
- "But..."
- "If you're that concerned, one of us will go with you. The others will hold him off."
- You look at them, and despite most of their eyes being obscured by the visors, you can tell they aren't going to budge on the topic.
- >Choose someone to come with you, or go it alone.
- >Solo
- "I'll...I'll go alone. I don't want any of you getting hurt if I can help it."
- "Red, look where we are and our current state. We're going to get hurt regardless. Now go! We'll handle this guy!" Sadie exclaims
- You leap over the Inquistor, running down the path, the Inquistor not doing anything to stop you.
- "A fool's errand. Oh well, I suppose my mistress could use some entertainment. Now then, servants of Xumir, show me your strength!"
- You continue running forward as the sounds of battle die out behind you, until finally you reach the large castle like structure, stepping through the doors, you see you're in a type of foyer with a large set of stairs leading upwards to a singular throne. As you take in your surroundings you're greeted by a booming female voice
- "So you have come agent of Xumir."
- "Whose there?!" you exclaim looking around, drawing your saber
- "I must admit that Xumir is quite wise, sending you here when I am not at full strength. You even managed to defeat my Officer."
- "Show yourself already!"
- "But...I'm afraid I must end you now...and I *oh so look forward* to watching you and your friends die. How shall it be? Slowly burning alive? Being eaten whole? Oh the *fun* we will have."
- "I said *show yourself*!"
- "So demanding...but, I commend that."
- Out of nowhere at the top of the stairs stands a lone woman
- "Hello there servant of Xumir. I am Lioxal. Goddess of *Ruin*."
- >To Be Continued
