personality ⇴ probably the crankiest person you'll ever meet in your entire life, everyday is the same for hwayoung. she is the literal epitome of pessimisstic and brings a whole new meaning to the saying "woke up on the wrong side of the bed." she has insomnia due to a constant back pain that's bothered her ever since she was a child and rarely ever gets a full night of sleep. combining that and the fact that she's just not a morning person, hwayoung is not the most pleasant to be around sometimes. when she works, she not efficient whatsoever. she yawns about every five minutes and just moves at a sluggish, sloth-like pace 24/7. however if you tell her to do something, she will ALWAYS get it finished. no matter how long it takes. although you will definitely hear her grumble and complain about it until no end. equipped with snarky comments and disses at all times, you can count of hwayoung to roast you whenever you least expect it. if she's not being rude or downing coffee to stay awake, she is most likely sleeping. lovingly dubbed "hwasleep" by her co-workers, she has a remarkable ability fall asleep anywhere during work. hwayoung hates ass-kissing the most and makes it her a point to treat everyone in her work place fairly. she jokingly says that she "hates everyone equally, senior or not." she understands and respects that it isn't right to be disobedient to someone who is older and has more experience, but she doesn't stand for it when they cross the line (which got her fired from her previous job). she has a tendency to argue with eunwon at times (okay, ALL THE TIME), but hwayoung truly respects eunwon and knows when to back off. even though she's the meanest to her friends and always putting up a grumpy front, she has a huge soft spot for them and would literally do anything for them (with her fair share of griping though). despite her back pains and it worsening whenever someone hugs her a little too hard or gives her a pat on the back, hwayoung loves it when her friends dote on her and initiate skinship, even though she'll pretend to be annoyed. she is a good actress. she doesn't like showing vulnerability but is not so stubborn to the point where she won't even ask for help when she knows she needs it.

background ⇴ hwayoung had a relatively normal childhood, minus the regular doctor visits due to her back and constantly having to sit out in phys ed because of it. her parents were a stable middle class family that taught her wrong from right and managed to keep her away from drugs and other horrors of public high school. she argued with her older brother jaehyun a lot, as siblings do. she had a close circle of friends at school and they did the basic sleepovers and went to parties together, etc. she graduated high school with decent grades and is currently in college, majoring in psychology.

how did they end up in the 'bulletproof' world ⇴ hwayoung was preparing to sleep (and by sleep, i mean she was preparing to listen to sleeping beauty on loop while she lies awake) when she realized that she ran out of heating pads so she decided to go on a nightly walk to get some because the pain is too much without them. she walked into the nearest convenience store and looked around for a while to find the best brand before purchasing them. when she walked out, she suddenly felt as if something were off.


reaction ⇴ hwayoung definitely knew something was wrong, but she never imagined that she was in a different world. she tried to convince herself that she was just being overdramatic. when she found out that her ridiculous hunch was correct, she was even more bewildered than before. and even more desperate to return home.

his personality ⇴ hoseok makes the sun jealous. it's hard to differentiate whether he's a human or an angel. there isn't ever a moment when he doesn't have a big, goofy smile on his face. his genuine kindness paired with his childlike naivete makes you want to just whisk him away and never let him know the horrors of the world. to add to that, he's good at almost anything he does and yet remains terribly humble about it. he never wants to be in the limelight and would much rather let someone else have all the attention. even though he has every reason to be, hoseok is not confident whatsoever. he is very self-deprecating and legitimately believes he isn't good enough. he gets shy at compliments and can't take them well.


first meeting ⇴ the next day after she entered the bulletproof world, still unaware that this world isn't hers, hwayoung was on her way to work. like another typical day, she was late. she was running after her bus when she felt someone zip past her clad in dark clothes. the stranger made it to the bus in no time and banged on the doors, alerting the driver to stop. when the driver did, the stranger waited for hwayoung's turtle ass to make it and gave her a big smile. he stepped back and let her get on first. when she turned back, he waved at her and told her to have a nice trip before leaving.


first impressions ⇴
	∘ HIM: hoseok thought that hwayoung was really cute running. once he got a better look at her, he noticed how flushed her cheeks were and how messy her hair was and thought she was even cuter.

	∘ HER: she usually hates it when people are overly happy in the morning, but she'll make an exception for him. also, why did this guy look exactly like  character from eunwon's webtoon?


how he acts around you ⇴
	∘ BEG - in the beginning, hoseok was just doing a good deed. not because he felt some sort of fatal attraction to her. he just saw someone who needed help and he helped them. when he actually saw her, he definitely felt attracted to her but it was an attraction where you acknowledge that the person is good looking, but you know you will probably never see them again.

	∘ MID - when he ran into her again, it was a very pleasant surprise for him. he doesn't bring up the bus incident again because he assumed that she forgot or just didn't even pay attention to his face. he treats her like he would anyone else (except for a few flirty remarks but shh) and is shocked but strangely amused to find out that she's a cranky, grumpy assistant for a webtoonist. even though she knows he's an idol, she treats him no differently and is horribly rude to him as well. he befriends and becomes rather close (despite her protests) with her. he helps her a lot when she's dealing with her back pain on a bad day and even buys her snacks and heating pads when she's too tired to do it herself. he tries not to be TOO close with her, in fear of his cover being blown, but his efforts are in vain.

	∘ END - at this point, hoseok has picked up on some of hwayoung's actions that don't quite add up. she seems to know things about him that he's never told her and it's like she can read his mind. he feels really conflicted because he likes her a lot, but isn't so sure if he can trust her. he even suspects her to be an enemy before realizing that if she wanted to hurt him, she would've a long time ago. he tries to ignore it and just spend time with her, but he can't hold it in and finally just confronts her about it. when she tells him, it's then he realizes her loves her so much that he doesn't even care that he's a character in a webtoon. he just wants to be real enough to be with her.


how you act around him ⇴
	∘ BEG - hwayoung is too frantic to actually pay any attention to him at first. she's just trying to figure out what the HELL is going on and why is she in eunwon's webtoon. she tries not to get involved in the webtoon's world, but it's kind of hard when you are stuck there AND there's a certain perky and hot guy you constantly run into.

	∘ MID - even though she tries her damned hardest not to let hoseok befriend her, she caves and before she knows it, he's her best friend. she realizes that it's actually really hard to pretend not to know everything about someone. despite the fact that she knows he isn't real, hwayoung can't help but think of hoseok as a real person. everything he does is filled with heart and raw emotion, how could someone like him be imaginary? in an attempt to push him away, hwayoung is even meaner to him than she is to anyone else. it's honestly a wonder why he even is friends with her. although even she has her limits. there are some days where she just can't do it and lets him break down her walls for just a little bit.

	∘ END - hwayoung can't even deny it anymore. she is pitifully in love with a webtoon character. to think she used to make fun of EVERGREEN. it's getting harder and harder to hide the fact that she knows a little more than she's letting on and when she accidentally slips, she knows hoseok is onto her. she just didn't realize he would confront her head-on. seeing him be so serious and legitimately frustrated because he didn't know what was going on made her crack like a porcelain doll and she proceeds to tell him everything. she finds herself pathetic when she realizes that she is terrified of losing hoseok.
