- Hello,
- Thanks for contacting NORML and having a keen interest in NORML’s longstanding pro-reform advocacy efforts. Since 1970 (and later, in 1997, the NORML Foundation) assists the victims of cannabis prohibition as well as representing the interests and concerns of the tens of millions of Americans who responsibly consume cannabis.
- ;D)
- Your email was forwarded to me for a reply.
- NORML’s staff indicates that the organization will, as usual on 4/20, have a number of public projects and promotions in play.
- As the organization circulates cannabis law reform petitions all the time, year-round, on 4/20 this year we’re doing something a little different that might be a more effective reform vehicle than yet another online petition (that has no force of law or binding democracy) that Anonymous might be keen on promoting instead of an online petition.
- A noted documentary filmmaker named EJ Vaughn has partnered with NORML to solicit an initial 1,000 hours of user-generated videos on why they want Cannabis Prohibition to end and/or why they enjoy cannabis. NORML’s staff suspects that if this project goes fully viral, Mr. Vaughn and NORML will have over 3,000 hours of video to edit and produce in the form of strong and personal testimonials that can reside and educate online in memoriam.
- Of course, these videos will be submitted from around the world, demonstrating the international scope of Cannabis Prohibition beyond America’s Reefer Madness.
- Please advise if this kind of direct (and likely more impactful) citizen advocacy can be included in Anonymous’ educational and advocacy efforts this 4/20
- Education, legislation and litigation, none of it in support of reform is made possible without the support of stakeholders like you.
- Kind regards, thanks again for your interest and support,
