- Castle Oblivion. Despite it having been found a while ago, Sorin never took the chance to actually go there. He had heard what had happened to Sora inside it, though without Namine there was no worries about having to deal with the whole card system. Still it was just another world now, filled with Heartless and Nobodies ready to fight anyone who walked the halls.
- Though Sorin had a strange feeling in his gut. He couldn't place what it was but something was going to happen. He just knows it.
- ====
- Like Sorin, Audrey herself had that feeling that something was going to happen when she landed on this world. She came here to do some training herself; however, she had yet to run into any Heartless or Nobodies in this place. This might have been accompanied by that feeling she was having.
- Great, she had just gotten out of a fight with the man who stole her and Sorin's powers now returned from the dead, and now she was about to deal with something even more dangerous. She really hated her luck sometimes.
- Though not all was bad. The Dream Mage had caught sight of Sorin and smiled. If it weren't for that gut feeling of hers, she would have run up to him and hugged him. But as it was, she just settled for walking to his side.
- "Hey Sorin," Audrey greeted her Samurai love. "What're you doing here? Training as always?"
- ====
- What was...oh it was just Audrey. That was a bit of a relief as Sorin was about to draw his sword. The feeling in the castle was making him jumpy.
- "More exploring and training if anything shows up." Sorin said. Really he was glad that Audrey was here. It made him feel a bit better that someone else was around. The fact that it was Audrey was even better. Still despite his girlfriend being with him, he still had that feeling in his gut.
- "Though I am wondering if we're the only ones around." Sorin admitted.
- ====
- Audrey frowned. Sorin acting jumpy like this was not a good sign. Not only that, but she felt the same thing he had admitted.
- "Yeah...I don't think it's just the usual Heartless and Nobodies, either..." Audrey said as she looked around.
- Unknown to the two, they in fact were being watched. In the next room over, a being peered over the doorway at them. Their breath was shaky; they needed to wait for the right moment before they could attack. Yes...attack and bring death on these Interferences. Glorious death.
- ====
- So he wasn't the only one thinking that something was off around. The thought comforted Sorin slightly as having Audrey having his back was a great relief. Sorin knew that Audrey's skill with her sword is even better than before and her powerful healing magic combined with his more offensive magic would make them a powerful duo to beat.
- "Well knowing our luck it's going to attack sooner or later so let's just get ready for it." Sorin said as he drew his katana.
- ====
- "Right," Audrey said with a nod. In a bright flash, Inari was summoned in her grip; Sorin would probably note the changes the sword now had, if he had not before. Though Audrey most likely wasn't just going to use the glaive; two holsters, one on each side of her hips, were added to her belt. And in them were two handguns, the same ones Sorin had given her years back. She had recently found these again, and decided to start using them again.
- But getting back on track, Audrey looked around the room, trying to keep an eye on what might jump out and attack them. After all these years, the Dream Mage knew not to be caught by surprise. She wasn't the same girl she was before; she knew better--
- "Audrey, heads up!"
- The spirit of her sword brought her to turn just in time to block a whip strike. However, what she didn't expect was for the whip to suddenly send a bolt of green electricity. The bolt blasted her back, the girl yelling before landing in a heap.
- And then the attacker jumped out in the open. It looked human...except it was way too thin for a normal human being to be, shown by its exposed midriff. It seemed to be female, with long hair that covered its right eye, the left exposed one framed by some kind of emblem; it looked like a heart that was cracked in diamond shapes down the middle. And in each of its hands were two whips, crackling with the same green electricity that had thrown Audrey back.
- "Finally! Pathetic beings that bleed!" it screamed with its crazed voice. With a maniacal laugh, the being snapped her whips at Sorin.
- ====
- "Audrey!" Sorin called out as the Dream Mage was knocked back. He had no idea who, or what this woman? Sorin wasn't even sure if this creature was human. But all that mattered was that this thing was attacking them and they had to fight back.
- "Eclipse!" Sorin shouted as he was protected by the Dark Barrier. After seeing how blocking those whips was useless due to the fact the woman could just blast you with lightning, useing Eclipse should be able to reflect the attack right back at her.
- ====
- While the barrier indeed did reflect the lightning back at the woman-like figure, she knew better. She snapped her whips again, enough to knock the bolt away from her. Instead, it was rammed into the wall, leaving behind a deep enough burn mark.
- "You'll have to do better than that!" the creature cackled. "I'm nothing like the low-leveled things you fight every day! I am the Wraith; I will not stop until--"
- "Stop talking!"
- She stopped then, and had to jump away as Audrey instead started firing with her handguns. However, again she didn't stop there; she snapped her whips at the girl once again, intent on knocking the guns out of her hands. But like her, the Dream Mage also knew better, to which she stopped firing and threw herself out of the way of the whips, barely missing by an inch.
- ====
- Sorin was a bit surprised to see Audrey using her handguns again. It had been a while since she last used them. But now was not the time to worry about that. This Wraith was obviously much stronger than any Heartless or Nobody. It seemed to be on the level of a Interference. Despite that Sorin felt he and Audrey still had the advantage. It was two against one and for one of the few times they outnumber a enemy.
- "Solar Flare." Sorin said as he sword was superheated by his magic. He charged right for the Wraith, hoping to get close where it's whips would be ineffective.
- ====
- Unfortunately, the Wraith saw Sorin coming. She backed off and snapped her whips once more. But this time, she didn't whip at him, rather at the space between them. Green bolts of lightning trailed down before they were sent as a bolt at the Samurai.
- By this time, Audrey had gotten back to her feet, Inari in her hands again. While the Wraith was distracted, she charged energy into the glaive before running up to the woman-like creature and slashing at her back. The Wraith let out an ear-piercing shriek, enough for the Dream Mage to almost freeze in place. She did keep her composure...until she heard the creepy laugh again, what was said next.
- "You're just turning me on..."
- ====
- The lightning was enough to knock Sorin away. The Samurai grimanced as he got to his feet, the effects of the bolt of lightning still lingering. But before he could prepare for his next attempt to attack he heard the Wraith's shriek and what it said afterward.
- Sorin looked a bit of a mixture of being horrified and disgusted. This thing was getting off on their attacks on it. Really it just made Sorin want to kill it faster so it won't have the chance to say anything like that again.
- "Aurora" Sorin called out. Right behind the Wraith a vortex of light appeared and tried to suck the Wraith into it.
- ====
- The Wraith couldn't do anything to avoid the vortex. She shrieked once again as it sucked her in and did its damage. Audrey, after having been disgusted by what the monster said, regained her composure right then. She charged her sword once again and made to impale the Wraith where she was.
- She couldn't. The Wraith snapped her whips and caught the girl by the throat, the sword flying and hitting the wall instead. Audrey grit her teeth; not only was she being choked to death, but the electricity charged in the whips stunned her in place from the shocks.
- "You were like me once..." said the monster, a sick grin on her face. "You were driven by rage and hate, driven to kill. I can smell it. The scent of a killer..."
- Despite the shocks, Audrey uttered through her teeth, "Again.....with......that.....bulls**t......."
- "You can't deny it! Once you've taken the path, there's no turning back! You can never hide from it; you and I are the same!"
- ====
- "Don't turn your back on me!" Sorin shouted as he slashed at the Wraith's back with a Solar Flare activated.
- "Audrey is nothing like you! She made mistakes and she walked that path for a time but she changed! She started to walk a different path, one to help people! Her powers represent that, the power to heal others!" Sorin shouted at the Wraith, hoping both to distract the Wraith and get Audrey to ignore the strange creature.
- ====
- The Wraith shrieked out once more, the slash leaving a very nasty burn. She was forced to release Audrey from her whip's grasp, the girl still stunned for a bit. After a bit, though, she recovered and cast Vita on herself.
- The monster didn't seem to notice; she just took to mocking what Sorin said. "Say what you will; you can see it in her eyes! That bloodthirsty need to kill...it will never leave her! It will never--"
- "For f***'s sake, SHUT THE HELL UP!"
- She could say no more, as suddenly her breath was sucked right out of her. She choked, clawing at her throat for air. Audrey took the chance, and released a powerfully charged slash at the Wraith.
- ====
- With the Wraith stunned by Audrey's spell this was there best chance to attack and just finish it off right there. "Solar Flare." Sorin said again as the Chaos Seal soon grew super heated as well. Using Solar Flare on two weapons at once drained his magic at an even faster rate but it should be enough to eliminate the Wraith.
- Sorin slashed at the Wraith with both weapons at once, with Audrey's spell and attack combined with his own, Sorin felt the battle was over.
- ====
- Another shriek of agony, this time even louder and more ear-piercing than the last. It was only by the force of will that Audrey didn't double over and cover her ears, instead just giving a cringe. The Dream Mage had been about to add another slash in for good measure, try to end this off for good.
- Unfortunately for the two, the battle was not over.
- "ENOUGH!" the Wraith screamed, snapping her whips to the ceiling. Or rather, to the crystal chandelier in the room. The bolts of electricity traveled their way; some of it destroyed parts of the chandelier, but others had reflected them into multiple strikes at the floor. One had caught near Audrey's feet, making her fall back. Another had caught her dead on right after.
- "Augh!" she yelled after she was struck. Her sword had also left her hand after she fell, once again embedded in the wall. However, she was paralyzed from the strike of lightning, enough to prevent her from calling it back to her hand.
- ====
- The Solar Samurai was knocked back by the sudden blast of electricity. In one move the advantage shifted right back into the Wraith's favor. Sorin grimaced as he tried to get up but he was having difficulty. The electricity made his legs feel numb and he couldn't get back to his feet.
- At the moment things were looking pretty bad for Sorin and Audrey.
- ====
- The Wraith grinned crazily as she now had the upper hand in this fight. With the two down, she snapped her whips at the Interferences, grappling both of them by the throats once again. Audrey grit her teeth again, trying to fight back. The Dream Mage reached for Sorin as best she could; she thought they would have a better advantage if she had gone into Dreamer Form. Unfortunately, the shocks were too great, and the whips kept a firm enough grip to keep them apart.
- "So....rin......" Audrey's health was draining away quickly, and she couldn't heal either of them while she was like this. She didn't want to die here, not now...
- ====
- Sorin cried out as he struggled to get the whip from his neck but the shocks were just too painful. The Samurai looked over at Audrey as she seemed to be weakening. They couldn't die here, not to this...thing. He had to save Audrey but he couldn't find the strength to save her.
- 'Do you want the strength to save the Dream Mage?'
- That voice, Sorin recognized it as the voice from when he gained Earthshine. Sorin grit his teeth as he nodded to the voice that only he could hear.
- 'Then reach within and find the strength to become a true Samurai.
- Sorin had no idea what that meant at first but he soon felt something. A burst of energy from within his body. Seeing it as his only chance to save Audrey he did as the voice said and reached for it with all his might.
- A blinding flash of light emerged from Sorin and when it died down he was standing up, the whip no longer around his neck. Instead Sorin was dressed in ornate armor, apparently covered with gold colored cloth. On his head was a helmet, emblazoned with the image of a white sphere surrounded by darkness, with a thickly woven guard that covered most of the neck as well as a pair of horns, black and white, sticking up to resemble a devil. His torso was covered with a long, coat-like suit of armor, the symbol of the Yin-Yang almost shining on the armor’s chest plate while the separate symbols shown on the right and left shoulders of the armor respectively. His katana was shrouded in Darkness, appearing as black as the night, and his katar was shining brightly with a light bright enough to cast shadows in the middle of the day. Though not armored, his legs were partially covered by the armor of coat he wore and what wasn’t now sported what looked to be the lower half of a thick Kimono.
- ====
- The blinding flash brought the Wraith to bring her arms up to cover her eyes, forced to release her then victims. As it died down, the monster looked with wide eyes at the form the Solar Samurai had then taken. However, this was then replaced with a scowl and an angered clench of her teeth. So what if he went into a special form of his own; she was not going to lose to these Interferences.
- "You think you can beat me with all those shiny accessories?" the Wraith asked, though didn't waste any time. She snapped her whips towards Sorin, sending another blast of green lightning at him.
- In the meantime, Audrey was down on her knees, heaving and coughing. Until she could regain her strength and move on her own, she was out of the fight for now.
- ====
- Sorin smirked as the green lightning was actually reflected by an invisible barrier before it could even touch him. "These shiny accessories have some uses." Sorin told the Wraith as tightened his grip on his weapons before charging forward.
- Sorin was able to close the distance quickly and tried to take advantage of any kind of surprise the Wraith might have. Sorin would force it on defense, trying to keep it close and avoiding his attacks. The Samurai figured it wouldn't take too long before the Wraith would leave an opening he could exploit.
- ====
- The Wraith had already been caught off guard when her lightning had reflected off the Samurai. The charge had knocked her back, almost losing her grip on her weapons of choice. This was bad. The advantage was now in the Interferences' favor once more. She had to figure out how to--
- Wait, the girl was still down. If Sorin was focused on her, he wouldn't have enough time to protect her. She grinned at this thought and once again snapped her whips, this time in Audrey's direction. The bolt sent off the whips homed its way towards her, to weaken her more, and possibly take her life.
- Or not. What the Wraith didn't know was that the Dream Mage had secretly cast Daydream on herself while she had been down. So like with Sorin, the bolt reflected off from her own barrier spell. Again, the female creature was caught off guard, right when Audrey had pulled out one of her guns and shot twice. Each shot had hit her hands, knocking the whips out of her hands as she shrieked.
- "That's what you get for underestimating me," Audrey retorted. She remained down, however, still considerably weakened. Hopefully with what she added, Sorin would be able to finish this fight for them. "Kick her ass, Sorin..."
- ====
- "Got it." Sorin said simply as he charged in yet again. Without her whips, the Wraith was pretty much defenseless. Still there was a chance for the Wraith to get its weapons back but Sorin wasn't going to let it get that chance.
- The Samurai stayed on the offensive, waiting for a moment where he could go for the killing blow. He found it and struck, the Chaos Seal stabbed right at the Wraith's torso.
- ====
- It had all happened so quickly. The Wraith tried to reach for her whips; she would not fall to these pathetic Interferences. They were below her, below each and every one of them. She would not let herself be humiliated by mere humans powered by the universe's rules. She will kill them, one way or--
- No chance of that. The Chaos Seal struck, impaled her in the chest. The female creature shrieked, both to the stab, and the Light-affiliated damage adding to it. However, even as she was impaled, even as the strike was beginning to burn her...she still managed a grin at the Samurai. She still wasn't dead yet.
- "Don't think you Interferences have won yet!" the Wraith shrieked in Sorin's face. "There are more of us Ghosts out in the worlds! As long as Heartless and Nobodies continue to roam the universe, SO SHALL WE!!!"
- And then it happened. Cloth and skin melting away to a black skeleton, the eyes still staring at Sorin as it kept screaming. Where Sorin had stabbed, a crystalline Heart was seen, having been impaled by the katar. The eyes rolled back into the skull, evaporating into steam, the screaming dying off, as the skeleton turned to ashes. Finally was the glass Heart itself; it shattered into many pieces before they all fell to the ground without a sound.
- Audrey stared at the remains of the Wraith, her face contorted with disgust and a bit of terror. She did her best to shake it off, casting Vita on herself once more to heal herself. With some strength regained, the Dream Mage pushed herself back to her feet, somewhat wobbly, but managed to keep her balance.
- "...that was freaky..." was all she could say at the moment.
- ====
- "You can say that again Audrey." Sorin said and in another flash of light the Samurai was back to normal. That new form of his was definately powerful though Sorin could tell he couldn't use any of his spells. Trading magic for physical strength. Still it turned out to be just what they needed to defeat that Wraith.
- Sorin walked over to Audrey and put an arm around her, helping to steady her. "Come on, let's head back to our ships so you can rest. My new form fully healed me so I'm fine."
- ====
- "Good idea..." Audrey mumbled as she leaned against Sorin. Right now, she wanted to go relax and try to forget what just happened. The Wraith had creeped her out more than any Silent Hill monster could have done before. Though one part of what the monster said had got to her...was she right?
- The Dream Mage didn't think on that for too long, however, as she remembered something. Looking up at Sorin, she said, "Oh yeah, before I forget, there's something I have to tell you about. You know the guy who stole our powers before? Well, he came back and wants to kill us even more now."
