  1. “Congratulations, Master - you’ve summoned both the richest man in the world as well as the King among all pirates and other unsavory folks."
  2. Faceclaim: https://i.imgur.com/Lz2GFBj.jpg
  3. Class: Rider
  4. Alternative Class: Berserker
  5. True Identity: Henry Every
  6. Titles/Nickname: The King of Pirates, The Arch Pirate.
  7. Origin: Britain
  8. Alignment: Chaotic Good
  9.
  10. Strength: C
  11. Endurance: C
  12. Agility: A
  13. Mana: D
  14. Luck: A+
  15. Noble Phantasm: A
  16.
  17. Class Skills
  18. Riding - B+
  19. Able to ride most mounts and vehicles with average skill. However, if the vehicles in question are naval vessels, then this Skill receives a bonus in terms of efficiency in navigation. Though, it can be interpreted that this Skill exists for… certain deeds of Every’s, but that’s a topic for another time.
  20.
  21. Magic Resistance - E
  22. Grants protection against magical effects. Differing from the developed Resistance that merely rejects magical energy, this Skill cancels the spells altogether. At this rank, Every cannot cancel spells, but he is able to reduce them somewhat. Living a life where magecraft is a rare sight, it’s natural for the Pirate King to possess such a paltry ability to resist it.
  23.
  24. Personal Skills
  25. Progenitor of the Golden Age - EX
  26. A personal Skill expressing Every’s role in launching the world into the Golden Age of Piracy. By striking it rich and making a fool out of the British Empire and its Navy, Every did what many once thought impossible and managed to make it out alive.
  27.
  28. With this Skill, the Pirate King is able to draw out the inner rebel and dreamer within people and is able to sway them akin to Incitement. However, the difference lies in the fact that only works with criminals and desperate souls. In a way, Every gains dominion over the those who desires freedom, adventure and wealth. As his life inspired countless others to take up life as pirates, this Skill may even have a chance of changing an person’s Alignment to bear the Chaotic aspect if he’s lucky. However, those of the Lawful Good Alignment are nearly impossible to convert. Magic Resistance plays a part in this too, as those with it of rank B or above will be above its influence.
  29.
  30. When used in tandem with the Charisma aspect of his Voyager of the Storm Skill, it will be certain that the affected individuals will be compelled to follow his every whim. This works especially well against those possessing the Chaotic aspect of the Alignment spectrum. Doubly so if the influenced individuals are pirates, reflecting the Pirate King’s ability to gather seven other pirate captains to raid the Ganj-i-Sawai.
  31.
  32. Additionally, this allows Every to “Achieve great fortune when he least expects it,” and instead of monetary fortune, it involves the great success in normally risky situations. While nowhere near the reality-breaking effect of Pioneer of the Stars, it is still effective in overcoming difficult scenarios. As a man who became the richest person in the world within a single day and lived to tell the tale, this is a given.
  33.
  34. Every was a legend during his lifetime and thereafter. He embodied the dream of all pirates: to rise from misfortune and poverty, rebel against authority, make a huge score and retire; preferably with an adoring princess and a large pile of loot. The idea that Every had somehow managed to get away with all of his wealth helped create the so-called Golden Age of Piracy. As such, it taught thousands of sailors and hopeful hearts to dream; as even a lowly deck-hand could fight for freedom and riches beyond imagination. In a way, Every was indirectly responsible for the creation of famed pirates like Edward Teach, Anne Bonny and Howell Davis.
  35.
  36. Scrapegoat - E
  37. The accumulation of cunning techniques designed to escape the battlefield in one piece. In Every’s case, this allows him to have someone else take the blame, and gains a head start in retreat. But because of its low rank, the effects of this Skill is much more limited than its default form. After a period of time, the enemy will recognize Every as the real cause and pursue with increased aggression. In other words, this Skill is just Every asking for trouble.
  38.
  39. Prior to the raid on Ganj-i-Sawai, Every made a promise to the British Empire that he’ll cease to attack any ship from them. However, this didn’t include those allied to the country. As such, he successfully escaped the law as Britain took the blame on the attack. Afterwards, the Pirate King became the World’s Most Wanted man - viciously pursued by both the East India Company and the British Empire for his actions. With a £1,000 bounty on his head, Every immediately began his escape, starting the first worldwide manhunt. It even led Every to adopt numerous personas and aliases just to throw his pursuers off for a brief moment.
  40.
  41. Voyager of the Storm - A
  42. The talent to sail vessels recognized as ships. Because the ability as a group leader is also necessary, this unique Skill also has the effects of both Charisma and Military Tactics.
  43.
  44. Sailing from the Indian Sea to the Atlantic, Every terrorized merchants ships other than the English to steal their wealth. It was also said that he razed many African and Muslim villages to the ground with impunity, as they weren’t “included” in the contract.” Besides, who will miss them anyway? The military aspect of this Skill is shown in full was when Every led 7 other pirate captains like Thomas Tew to attack the Ganj-i-Sawai and the Fateh Muhammed, two 80-gunned flagships that were followed by twenty-five other convoy ships with 3 cannons each. Despite suffering heavy damage, Every and co. prevailed and secured the gold and valuables.
  45.
  46. Noble Phantasm
  47. The Fancy: 'Zephyr of the Red Sea, Scourge of the East' - A
  48. Anti-Army Noble Phantasm
  49. The infamous ship piloted by Avery himself, which earned the fear of all seafarers - including other pirates - during his time. Originally the Charles II, Every claimed this ship via mutiny after its former captain failed to pay his crew for over half a year. Armed with 50 cannons and with a manpower of 150, this Man-of-War terrorized foreign ships and villages before disappearing along with Every in 1695. Even after its disappearance, many future pirates named their ships after the original in homage to his legend.
  50.
  51. Because of the various ships named after it, the original Fancy is fused with its many homages to form a dreadnaught of a naval vessel. Despite its enormous size, the main strength of this vessel lies not within firepower but its speed. After extensive modifications made to the ship, The Fancy had its weeds and barnacles removed along with certain parts of its superstructure to dramatically increase its speed to about 25 Knots. As such, it was no exaggeration that it was the fastest ship during Every’s time. Said to be “faster than the wind,” The Fancy just as capable of “sailing” across the sky as the sea. Taking advantage of its superb speed, this NP will mainly use Hit-and-Run tactics to swiftly avoid attacks while peppering enemies with a hail of cannon fire.
  52.
  53. As an additional note, because of The Fancy’s first volley of cannons managed to cripple the Genj-i-Sawai by destroying its mainmast and main cannons, the Fancy’s cannon rounds are designed to cripple before outright killing. Their cannon rounds are Chain and Ball Shots, cannonballs with chains capable of wrapping themselves around opponents - greatly restricting their movement and ability to attack. With their opponents vulnerable, the Fancy is free to bombard them with blazing cannonfire. However, those with B-rank Strength or above can easily break free of the chains before it can be a problem. Another variant are Grapeshots, with its purpose for anti-personnel. Once launched, it will split into multiple smaller rounds. While not designed to penetrate hulls, these smaller rounds can demolish massed armies; as such, these rounds possess a bonus against opponents with the “Man” Attribute or other Anti-Army NPs. The third and final variant was Carcass Shots, where incendiary cannonballs made from pitch, antimony, turpentine and other materials quickly ignite any flammable surfaces while exuding poisonous gases. Instead of ships, this was used on numerous villages on the African Coast to cause quick and effective damage. When used, there may be a random chance for the shots to impart either a burn or poisoned effect.
  54.
  55. But because of it’s reduced superstructure, the NP isn’t as bulky befitting of a Man-of-War. As such, it’s not as durable as it looks. Even with the supposedly reduced size, the NP is still a large target for enemies to hit due to it being a conglomerate of various ships of the same name. Appropriately, this NP can be very taxing to the Master, as it cost a high amount of prana to keep it in the world. In average, it would stay in corporeal form for a maximum of around 15 minutes. And should the NP be completely destroyed, it will remain sealed for the remainder of the Grail War.
  56.
  57. Libertalia: 'Fabled Utopia of Seafaring Outlaws' - EX
  58. Anti-Team Noble Phantasm
  59. A unique Noble Phantasm that initially seemed out of place, given Every isn’t a Caster. Based after the mythical pirate utopia of the same name, it is the legendary haven for pirates throughout the globe. Said to have retreated to Madagascar after escaping with his great fortune, Every and several like-minded people built a pirate-nation where all pirates can be free from the oppressive regimes of the world powers. Despite being in more recent times, Libertalia retains a large amount of mystery due to its being the object of many speculations and variations of the same myth. Although it fell to the sands of time, the legend lived on as one of the few havens where criminals and outlaws lived in peace.
  60.
  61. Despite Every’s title, he is merely a figurehead; for these pirates practiced direct democracy, where they voted for their decisions that revolves around them. Supposedly going against all forms of authoritarian constructs, the pirates of Libertalia raided the ships of the “oppressive” empires and freed their slaves, all for “Equally-distributed Justice.” Some call them Freemen, others call them Savages; no matter their names, these pirates were a grave threat to all that are rich and powerful.
  62.
  63. In order to activate the NP, Every must give up The Fancy in order to recreate the pirate-nation; the wood of the hull becomes its walls, the mast its banners, cannons and steel as its defenses. After the dramatic change, Libertalia overlaps over the existing environment akin to a certain golden theatre. This fortress/settlement is more of a mesh between a shantytown and a actual fortress, with a combination of both wood, stone and even old ships to form clustered yet stable architecture, giving off a vibe of controlled chaos. On an unrelated note, the environment nearby adopts a tropical vibe; the air surrounding the pirate-nation has a saltwater scent, and even tropical vegetation starts to grow around Libertalia.
  64.
  65. Being a place of outlaws and criminals where all authoritarian powers are opposed, any individuals that are either of the Lawful Alignment will suffer a rank down in all of their parameters. Servants of kingly origins will suffer even more, with not only their parameters lowered but also the rankings of their Skills. On the other hand, those of the Chaotic Alignment will gain a rank up in all their parameters along bonus check in certain actions. Pay in mind that this also effects enemies and allies alike. Normally, this would also effect Every for being the Pirate King; but because he's technically an outlaw, he is exempt from this rule.
  66.
  67. Within the fortress, spirits resembling pirates spawn in great bulk. With the fervent desire to protect their sole haven, they will brandish blade, spears and gun and fight to the last man. As individuals, their parameters are basically E’s in all categories, but with max numbers totaling around 15,000 or so, these mooks can pose a serious threat to even a Servant. Should these shades reside within Libertalia’s walls, their general parameters except Luck increases by two ranks, making them more dangerous to deal with. At the cost of 150 spirits, Every can reanimate one of the ship-buildings, making them usable for combat once more. Although nowhere near as powerful as The Fancy, their cannonballs are considered C-ranking NPs by themselves, capable of demolishing even concrete buildings in a flash.
  68.
  69. However, the spirits and ships can only wander as far as a maximum of 30 meters radius. And like how the Pirate-nation died along with Every, this NP will disappear once the Pirate King is killed. As this technically counts as a fortress, NPs that classifies as Anti-Fortress can efficiently destroy Libertalia. But due to the fact that Every has a preference to engage in direct combat despite his parameters, killing him is a much more preferable option in destroying this NP. Because of this NP came at the cost of sealing The Fancy, this NP is best used as a last resort, when the opponent is a formidable one.
  70. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
  71. Henry Every, also known as Henry Avery, was a English pirate of renown in the late 1600's. Henry Every may not be as famous as later pirates like Edward Teach or Bartholomew Roberts, but his brief career have inspired many of them to first take up the cutlass and set sail under the Jolly Roger. During just two years prowling the seas, Every and his band captured roughly a dozen vessels and made off with tens of millions of dollars in booty. His exploits inspired songs, books and plays, including one called “The Successful Pyrate” that was performed on London stages for several years. Most astonishing of all—and unlike Blackbeard and many others—he did it all without getting captured or killed.
  72.
  73. Little is known about Every’s early life. He went to sea at a young age, and served the Royal Navy before working as a lave trader in the early 1690s. In 1693, he reappears in the historical record as the first mate of the Charles II, a privateering vessel hired to plunder French shipping in the Caribbean. The mission was slow to start, however, and the crew languished in a Spanish port for several months without being paid. Fearing they may be deceived into slavery, Every led his disgruntled crew in a mutiny. Upon seizing the Charles II, he announced his intention to turn pirate.
  74.
  75. “I am captain of this ship now. I am bound to Madagascar, with the design of making my own fortune, and that of all the brave fellows joined with me.”
  76.
  77. After renaming the Charles II to The Fancy, Every and his upstart buccaneers set a course toward the southern tip of Africa. Their first raid came soon thereafter, when they ransacked three English merchant ships in the Cape Verde Islands. They continued to plunder their way along the African coastline for the next several months, capturing French and Danish ships and picking up new recruits. By the time the Fancy reached Madagascar in mid-1695, it was a floating rogues’ gallery of some 150 men.
  78.
  79. Every’s early scores had won him the respect of his crew, but he soon set his sights on a more formidable quarry. There was a Mughal Empire fleet was soon to set sail from the Red Sea port of Mocha on a voyage home to Surat, India. Along with carrying Muslim pilgrims returning from their hajj to Mecca, the armada would also include several loot-filled merchant vessels and treasure ships owned by the Grand Mughal of India himself. Every and his men cruised to the Red Sea in August 1695 and prepared to ambush the Mughal fleet. To ensure they had significant firepower, they partnered with several other pirate ships including the Amity, an American raider captained by the famed buccaneer Thomas Tew. Only a few days later, the pirates spotted the 25-ship Mughal convoy as it raced toward the open ocean. Before the fleet was able to slip away, the Fancy successfully ran down one of the prime vessels called the Fath Mahmamadi. After a brief firefight, the ship surrendered and was relieved of some 50,000 British pounds’ worth of gold and silver.
  80.
  81. Every and his men resumed the hunt, and on September 7, their three remaining pirate ships caught up with the richest prize in the Indian fleet: the Grand Mughal flagship Ganj-i-Sawai. Unlike the Fath Mahmamadi, the Ganj-i-Sawai was more than able to fend them off. It was the biggest ship in all of India, and boasted 80 cannons and a complement of 400 riflemen—more than the entire pirate fleet combined. Every gambled on an attack, and immediately scored a devastating blow when one of his first cannon volleys cut down the Ganj-i-Sawai’s mainmast. The Indian defenders then fell into disarray after one of their artillery pieces malfunctioned and exploded. Every brought the Fancy alongside the crippled Mughal ship and sent a boarding party scurrying onto its deck. A fierce hand-to-hand battle ensued, but the Indian soldiers were driven back after their captain abandoned them.
  82.
  83. After dispatching the leaderless Mughal resistance, the pirates sacked the Ganj-i-Sawai and brutalized its passengers. The men were tortured and killed, and the women were raped. The gold, silver, and jewels taken during the bloody Ganj-i-Sawai attack were worth somewhere between 325,000 and 600,000 British pounds—the equivalent of tens of millions today. After dividing the spoils, Every and his crew weighed anchor and set a course for the pirate-friendly Bahamas. Upon arriving at New Providence, they posed as slavers and bribed the island’s governor into letting them come ashore. Every also handed over the battle-scarred Fancy and a small fortune in ivory tusks.
  84.
  85. While Every and his men relaxed in New Providence’s pubs, English authorities scrambled to deal with the political fallout from their raid. The attack had driven the Grand Mughal Aurangzeb into a rage, and he responded by arresting several higher-ups in the English East India Company, which he believed had conspired against him. Fearing the cancellation of their valuable trade agreements, the Company compensated the Mughals for what was stolen and vowed to bring the pirates to justice. East India Company and Royal Navy vessels were soon scouring the seas in search of the Fancy, and a £1,000 bounty was placed on Every’s head.
  86.
  87. However, no one would get a chance to collect it. Not long after, Every and his pirates scattered after a short stay in the Caribbean in 1696. A few were later rounded up and executed, but the vast majority escaped to Europe and the American colonies. At this point, Every disappeared from the world. While he is believed to have sailed to Ireland under the name “Bridgeman,” his trail goes cold from there. Most of historians believed he made a clean getaway and retired with his loot. A few fictional works even described him as starting his own pirate haven on Madagascar. Others claimed Every had returned to his native England to settle down, only to be bilked out of his fortune by corrupt merchants. According to that version, the so-called “King of the Pirates” died poor and anonymous, “not being worth as much as would buy him a coffin.” But no matter what end he met, Every’s tale inspired entire generations of young dreamers and downtrodden sailors to dream and take up the life of piracy; in the face of adversity and danger, there lies hopes for a life of freedom and fortune. And it was then the Golden Age of Piracy had finally begun.
  88.
  89. The ruler of Libertalia who began the Golden Age of Piracy.
  90. Befitting the title of Pirate King, Every is initially a rather unpleasant fellow. Arrogant with a nasty streak for terrorizing others, he usually prefers to lead and will rebuke those who object. Believing that all everyone has the right to pursue fortune, Every won’t hesitate to belittle those who lack self-motivation. Unless they prove to be of actual use, the Pirate King will continue to do so. And when there's something of value, see it for Every to do anything to get his hands on it. The Pirate King will leave countless dead if it the reward was to add more to his hoard. Reviled for his inhuman actions to the various African and Muslim villages and the crew of the Genj-i-Sawai, there’s a very good reason Every is capable of being summoned as the Berserker class.
  91.
  92. A vicious leader of criminals and cutthroats aside, there are certainly some traits within Every that befits a capable leader. Although it seemed impossible due to the chaotic nature of pirates, Every still managed to unite them under a singular banner. As mentioned above, the Pirate King believes everyone is able of pursuing their own fortunes - no matter how hard or impossible it may seem, anything is possible through sheer will. Because of that, he'll respect those who are driven individuals. True to the purpose of Libertalia, Every is a believer that everyone possessed an birthright to be free. As such, he'll never stand for oppression and other tyrannical rule. Despite his greed, Every is capable of thinking outside of his own pockets; should the damage outweigh the reward, the Pirate King will retreat, albeit reluctantly.
  93.
  94. Truth to be told, while he's a feared outlaw and ruler of a small pirate-nation, Every has little idea of what he's doing. Ever since he became the captain of the Fancy, every single action was Every just winging it, struggling to play the part of a pirate captain. All of his actions were performed after deliberate consideration for his image, although there were times he acted during the spur of the moment. However, this is not to say that the Pirate King's despicable actions were accidental; being a poor sailor who struggled to earn a single coin, Every is willing to do anything to not return to being the pitiful First Mate of the Charles II - killing others if it's necessary.
  95.
  96. As mentioned above, Every is genuinely a firm believer that humanity is capable of accomplishing anything should they put their drive to it. For that, the Pirate King visions a free world where mankind's potential is boundless as the sea. In order to bring that vision to reality, he placed his and thousands of other unnamed aspirants' hopes for a single wish upon the Grail. However, the wish may or may not end up being twisted due to his less-than-saintly nature.
