  2. Regarding subs, the sub decisions made here were largely inspired by an event in a LCPL that has been summarized in this post.

  4. As you can see, without having any sort of subbing limits, teams can get away with lineup changes meant to give them an unfair advantage over their opponents. Part of the result, somewhat echoing viper's earlier comments here, was that subbing could only occur for valid reasons. The other part of the result however was to prevent anyone from subbing during the first two days of a week. Personally this later part doesn't sound particularly helpful and I can see it as harmful if a team has a member who realizes that he/she can't play or properly schedule with an opponent due to timezone or other schedule conflicts. I'd rather see needed subs happen ASAP. When it comes to valid reasons for a sub, I think these definitely are needed but it gets tricky to actually enforce and make sure that said player is being subbed for that reason. Without any sort of subbing limit, then managers could abuse that rule and snake through it by claiming multiple people are inactive and need to be subbed out to get the same intended result as Coco and Nine wanted by changing their lineups right away.

  6. Ultimately I think the limit for 2 subs per week is the best way to limit this, and since 2 subs is the min each team had to buy, it seems like a good number. A huge portion of the team (40%) can be subbed if needed, but not over half the team in a way in which someone can specifically abuse matchups.

  8. That said, I am open to discussion on rather than limiting it to just 2 subs per week AND locking those subs in with specified names, if it might be preferable to keep only the former and not the later. So, if you guys prefer keeping the 2 sub limit while having freedom on who subs in, I think that's an acceptable result as well.

  10. Rather than having to deal with situations that arise over the course of the tournament and waiting for sub abuse to happen (or not happen) or deal with scheduling messes that happen with multiple mid/late subs and then having to backtrack, I think having clear protocols that are transparent is for the best. I don't want to be accused of making a biased decision in response to someone gaming the system and would rather have clear rules on the outset to follow.
