  1. These are all the events that occurred in the continent of Vahlmar.
  2.
  3. The Age of Expansion: The five Crests began their race across the continent to claim as much land as possible.
  4.
  5. The Age of Blood: New creatures were encountered during their expansion, with most of them being hunted down or imprisoned.
  6.
  7. Diplomacy Deal: Monsters capable of becoming useful to humans were accepted into their society for a brief period of time.
  8.
  9. The Defensive Stance: Once more all monsters were seen as abominations unworthy of standing in the lands that now fully belonged to the Crests, they were forced back until they were cornered. This was the moment the real war started.
  10.
  11. Bladed Wheel, the Future: New weapon designs were prepared specifically for the war, the Bladed Wheel becoming a very important design with the promise of both keeping the foe at distance and shattering their defenses with ease. After a few tests, these weapons were produced in large scale.
  12.
  13. A Dance in the Moon: While soldiers kept pressure on the lines to prevent monsters from advancing, a small number of people were chosen to work under the shadows; Harlequins. Both carrying the function of studying their opponents and taking down important figures or crippling the monsters with indirect but effective attacks.
  14.
  15. The Fall of the Wheels: After many soldiers falling in combat due to their lack of training with Bladed Wheels, blacksmiths were forced to stop producing them as they lacked the time to teach common infantry how to properly use them.
  16.
  17. The Cry of the Spider: During the war, another unusual and very violent race was encountered, becoming notorious for ambushing wandering troops and burning down supplies. The encounter with these monsters forced the Crimson Crest to pull their troops back to avoid bigger losses. These beings referred to themselves as "Weavers", but ended up being referred as "corpse carriers" by the soldiers who encountered them due to their habit of dragging the corpse of their foes into their territory for unknown reasons.
  18.
  19. The Gate of the Gods: In an attempt to put an end to this war, all the five Crests accepted to invest their studies towards a single objective; a portal to take the monsters away from their lands. During those studies the pressure on the monsters decreased, both to give them more time and to hopefully trick the monsters into advancing.
  20.
  21. The Seal of Victory: The studies of the scholars proved to be fruitful, as not only they managed to learn about a dimension that they could send the monsters in; but also a way to seal them and prevent any attempts of returning. While they desired to learn more about the dimension, the studies were interrupted as soon as the commanders received the information about the portal. This information was also shared with their neighbor continent; Windveil, with a letter being sent directly to the king of Terrania.
  22.
  23. The Big Wipe Out: In an attempt to bury the past and give the picture of power, the Crests signed a contract; the information related to the seal was only going to be shared between the high ranks. All the studies related to the dimension were burned down to make sure nothing was going to end up reaching the ears of the villagers and soldiers.
  24.
  25. A New Era: The monsters were soon banished into this new dimension, and the few that were still scattered around were hunted down, both imprisoned and eliminated. Dullahans were assumed to be dead, as their corpses suddenly fell down the moment the seal was closed.
  26.
  27. Expand and Grow: With the war reaching its end, the Crests began to focus their time investing on the biggest lands conquered, slowly creating a connection between the rich lands and leaving the less fortunate territories under the care of nobles. Consequently this created a very visible contrast between towns and cities, which were often ignored after new trade routes formed and focused on the capitals.
  28.
  29. Clockwork War: A new threat began to torment the continent; massive mechanical beings referred as "Clockworks", while unclear if they were built by humans or were a new sort of monster invading their lands they brought devastation and chaos to all the areas they passed through. Once more the five Crests had to unite to face a threat that was bringing destruction without any sort of objective-This time an actual threat for these beings weren't hesitant on wiping out armies with their blades and beams. While the invasion was stopped, the losses were noticeable to the point their expansion progress was halted.
  30.
  31. Clockwork Technology, the future: With the Clockworks slain, many curious and promising minds explored and studied the carcass of the massive machines in hopes of learning how they worked, and hopefully create automatic weapons of their own, or at least be able to recreate the beam weapon the colossal beasts were using to set forests on fire along with the soldiers fighting them.
  32.
  33. Clock Heresy: After countless incidents involving Clockwork technology causing the harm of those studying it or being used in questionable ways, the use and study of Clockwork was banned. People spotted utilizing any sort of device based on Clockwork technology were being imprisoned on sight. Even so, other figures continued to study this technology under the shadows, as the Crests were too busy with their larger cities to bother hunting down engineers breaking the law.
  34.
  35. The Expansion: With each Crest growing both stable and capable of expanding their territories again, the race to place their flags on unexplored lands continued.
  36.
  37. Economic Pressure: With no other lands to conquer, each Crest had to worry about the risks of losing their lands to another Crest, or running out of resources and being forced to negotiate with neighbor lands. The friction between the kings ruling each land only grew with time as the reports of supplies being stolen on the borders were growing and to the point each Crest were on the point of declaring war.
  38.
  39. Rundum's Warning: A letter was sent to Averam's capital, reporting that the seal of that continent was broken, which consequently meant their seal was going to break as well with the new wave of magic expanding itself. On other words, the monsters that they left imprisoned for so long were going to make their return, and in the letter they made sure to explain just what kind of place was Oblivion...A dimension that could drive people into insanity, full of corrupted beings roaming around "waiting for the right time". A powerful being referred as "Rundum" was also reported in the letter, and while they were able to stop its advance for now, it was going to use another gate to reach their realm; which happened to be located in Vahlmar.
  40.
  41. A New Enemy: With only a small amount of people truly aware of what happened in the past, guiding people to fight against an "unknown threat" wasn't too difficult, especially with the promises of the lands prospering again. As they didn't expect the seal to break, they had no magic methods of keeping them inside Oblivion, which could be seen as a problem if it wasn't for the fact the Crests were so sure of their victory.
  42.
  43. An Unexpected Ambush: With magic flowing on the lands once more, Dullahans slowly began to awake from their slumber, and unfortunately for them they weren't in the right place. Every single Dullahan found after waking up was eliminated or sent into the jail for interrogation, an incident seen as a heroic gesture by the kings. Needless to say this only fueled the anger the Dullahans already carried against the humanoids.
  44.
  45. Essence Fever: As soon as the seal was broken, a massive wave of magic energy was released across Vahlmar, forming a purple fog that lasted a few days. Both humans and monsters faced strong fever and dizziness as a result of exposure to this fog. And while not visible anymore, that effect remained on the air even after the occurrence, which led to travelers visiting the continent getting sick without any specific reason.
  46.
  47. The War of a Thousand Blades: With the seal being broken, portal gates began to open all over the continent, resulting on countless cities being razed and taken over by monsters. While the Crests did attempt to prepare themselves for the war, they were at a clear disadvantage as they couldn't tell where those portals would open up, and the alliance between so many monsters made sure each one of them were going to cover up each others weakness. Differently of the five Crests, they had been training this whole time and preparing for this opportunity, consequently this war became a massacre in the first few months due to the overwhelming strength from different directions.
  48.
  49. A Temporary Truce: While each Crest had their own concerns and doubts, they were forced to build a temporary truce with the monsters for the sake of avoiding even more losses in a war with an unclear outcome. For they knew that even if there was a chance for them to eventually win, it wasn't going to be worth the effort, and it would take far too long to recover from all the damage caused. A deal was a struck, and the territory previously claimed by the Crests returned to their previous owners along with a long list of rules to be shared between humans and monsters for the sake to avoiding this war to continue.
  50.
  51. Slow Growth: Slowly humankind and monsters began to connect once more, in less hostile terms-While the nobility continued to despise this situation, the lower ranks were willing to learn more about these new neighbors they now had to live alongside with. What started merely with conversations between common folk grew to deeper interactions, with culture and history being shared. New trade routes formed in the towns who were willing to deal with monsters and vice-versa.
  52.
  53. Stable Future: As the reports of hostility between races decreased, more humans and monsters were willing to live alongside, resulting on towns becoming a mix of different creatures. These became a sign of progress and hope, however Weavers and Crystalois in specific for the most part preferred to remain in their own territories.
  54.
  55. Suspicious Actions: What started with Crystaloid diplomats accusing the five Crests of attacking their caravans and causing a massacre turned into something a lot more concerning as this was only one of many reports. Soon Weavers, Dullahans and even the Undead began to accuse the Crest Leaders of plotting something against monsters again. At the same time, the Crests claimed their towns were being raided by monsters, creating tension between all races once more.
  56.
  57. The Harvesters Arrive : Harvesters, odd, tall and ominous figures. Reported appearing near both human and monster territories, dangerous beings that are also known as "Apocrehans" based on the monoliths studied by those who were courageous enough to get close enough to their territory. They are seen as the scourge of the continent due to their alien behavior and their capacity of draining the essence of every kind of living creature. Few towns are willing to allow these odd creatures to wander in, and even then they are always escorted by soldiers to make sure they aren't there just seeking essence to drain. It is unclear where they came from, but some claim they arrived as a warning. A warning from Death itself, that it will be coming to end this continent.
  58.
  59. On the Edge of the War: With more reports of towns being attacked, caravans being raided and people going missing, both sides are struggling to keep this truce going much longer. While unclear how long it will take for another war to occur, many questionable activities had been reported in some territories; while unconfirmed there are reports of monsters and humans wandering in the capital of Averam being arrested for 'conspiracy'. Those gossips did reach the higher ranks of the Dullahan empire, and they are currently demanding answers.
  60.
  61. The Present: A diplomat from Rundum was sent to Valhmar to find out how the continent handled the return of the monsters, only to be shocked at what he had been hearing through those who were willing to give him information. This lead to the Dullahan head directly to Thalmar to demand answers about the actions taken by the five Crests...Only to end up arrested along with other 'criminals'.
