- ~[Vampires/Werewolves! AU] Lost in the Woods~
- Tenshi sighed as he surveyed his surroundings. By chance, he HAD to get lost during the only time he didn't bring one of his companions.
- It was getting late with the sun about to start departing, but luckily he had some experience camping in the forest at night, except with a few of his friends and not just him alone...like now... He sighed again. This was gonna be a long night.
- Tenshi had managed to find a good spot to place his tent and to get firewood before the sun fully set. By night, he was roasting some fish he managed to hunt near the river.
- All was quiet until a sudden crunching of twigs was emitted somewhere. He tensed at the sound. He was perfectly aware that some escaped 2nd staged werewolves were roaming around near the vicinity, but he never expected that they might become the cause of his death.
- "Who's there?" Tenshi shouted towards the noise's direction, getting ready to take action anytime soon.
- "W-Wait, I'm harmless! I-I swear that I don't mean any harm!" a female voice responded.
- "Show yourself then." There was a gap between her responses, most likely considering her options. In the end, she decided to do as told. She stepped out into the open and was holding both of her hands up and open, signfying that she wasn't holding anything in them and trying to build a sense of trust.
- Tenshi observed her and mentally noted. She had fairly short brown hair, barely touching her shoulders, onyx eyes, and probably the average female height.
- "I-I got lost while I was picking flowers, and the food you cooked was so good that I couldn't help myself but to be drawn to it, she explained. As if right on cue, her stomach grumbled.
- "We can share if you want," he offered. "Really!?" There was a hint of hopefulness in her voice when je said that. She immediately perked up at the offer.
- "Yeah, I caught too much for myself to even finish, so I might as well share them with you instead of letting it rot away.
- "Thank you!" Her exclamation was most likely heard by everything in the forest. She covered her mouth put of embarrasment. She coughed before saying as if nothing had happened, "Joan."
- Tenshi raised a questioning eyebrow at her, wondering what she was trying to achieve. "That's my name," she clarified. "Oh... Mine is Tenshi."
- "So, what brings you here to the forest?" Joan asked after blowing on the roasted fish. "Hiking, a hobby of mine." he replied, taking a bite on his current meal.
- "What made you pick flowers at this specific location? This isn't exactly a common spot to do so."
- "My mother's favorite flowers grow only here," she explained.
- "Wouldn't she be worried that you're not yet at home?"
- "She's... let's say that she's used to me doing this." He could sense that she wasn't that comfortable telling him yet.
- They ate in peace with Tenshi asking a few questions now and then. Joan would answer and shoot back the same question at him.
- "I should really get going," she said, standing up already. "This late?"
- "Yeah..."
- "Where will you sleep?"
- "Uh... I'll manage-?"
- "My tent can fit two people inside. I can share if you're comfortable with sleeping with a stranger," he offered, showing the inside of the tent. "Not in that way though, obviously. I'm really not the type of person to touch you without your consent," he quickly added.
- "I...I don't want to intrude on your space--"
- "You're not."
- "I don't really mind sharing. Honestly, I'm thankful since I thought that I'd have to sleep out again," she sheepishly laughed.
- "Again?"
- "This isn't the first time it happened, hehe," she explained.
- "There's a sleeping bag prepared there already. You can sleep in it."
- "But where will you sleep then?"
- "There's some space left inside. I can sleep there."
- "This is your equipment though? That's too rude of me to do."
- "Joan, just take it."
- "Either you use it or neither of us will, your choice," she stubbornly said.
- "...Alright,"
- Joan beamed at his answer, thinking that he agreed on her first suggestion.
- "Neither of us will use the sleeping bag then," he finished.
- "..."
- "I'm not that heartless to sleep comfortably even if you offered to. I was raised better than that."
- Tenshi entered the tent with her hesitantly following after. The sleeping bag was kept neatly at the side. Two blankets and pillows were laid down. He gestured to the tent's left side.
- "You can sleep there ...Are you sure that you don't want to sleep on the slee--"
- "Yes, I am sure. Mr. Tenshi."
- "Mr. Tenshi?"
- "I wasn't sure if you were fine with just 'Tenshi'."
- "Just call me that, no need to add the 'mister'."
- He immeadiately settled on his spot and laid down. He glanced at the girl that was awkwardly standing there.
- "What are you waiting for?" he asked.
- "Are you really sure--?"
- "Yes, I am."
- Joan sighed, giving in and also settled down on her side.
- "Good night"
- The sun rose up, signalling a new day. Tenshi arose from his sleep and looked at to the left. It was empty, but the blanket used was folded neatly.
- He went outside the tent and was greeted by stones that were specifically placed to say, "Thank you".
