Romani Montclaire - You are my Stellus (5/23)

[01:43] Romani walks up to Sparrow. Initially silent, Romani would throw up his arms, and then tightly hug his cousin.

"Greetings, Sparrow. I am glad to see you again."

[01:45] Sparrow's arms would move to wrap around his cousin the moment they came into his line of sight.

"It's been too long Romani... I hope you're well."
(Sparrow cos Queen)
[01:47] Romani would shake his head, and laugh.

"I have no idea where my wife is, and my city is apparently burned. The Zealous priests were chased out, and currently it waits to be reinhabited. Aside from that, I have a throbbing feeling on my neck from where that collar sat."

"But I am alive. And my family is alive. So I suppose I can not ask for more then that."

[01:49] "Ah.."

Sparrow sighs, as he pulls away from the embrace.

"Well, there are some positives there, right? Sure, there's... More negatives there, but at least everything isn't too horrible."

Gotta stay positive, and all that.

"At least you have your health, and that's all you can really ask for. Though I'm sure we'll find your wife eventually.... I hope. But! What brings you to Theria?"

[01:52] Romani's hands would fall, returning to behind his back as he let out an exhale.

"I do not like to focus on the negatives, indeed. Instead, I would rather be busy with work then dwell on them. So even if it is too horrible, I will focus on everything else."

He assured.

"You. And August. After I was freed, I went to find people that I knew. Orsona was empty of my family, and I could not find Ophe there. Also, Ro did not want me to go there, so let us keep that between us, agreed?"

"But you and August were my second stop. I have to go back to Myllenoris within the year, but I will also be making sure to spend time with you as well."

[01:55] "August isn't around most of the time, I think he's off preparing for something?"

What that something was, Sparrow wasn't entirely certain of, but he'd figure it out eventually.

"But, yes! Welcome to Theria. You've been here once before, right? It's a rather beautiful city. I've grown quite fond of the cold, and the snow. I can see why Yani fell in love with the city."

"But! Perhaps when you head back to Myllenoris, I'll tag along. I've never actually been there before, and perhaps we can try to find your wife?"

[01:58] Romani would give a small nod.

"I wonder what he is up to."

An exhale. "I have to say, I am never one who could get used to the cold that is up to. I am none too fond of it. But I suppose I feel that way about any city that is not Orsona. But yes, I can see why he might have liked it."

"You are welcome to accompany me when I go to Myllenoris. But I also wanted to ask something else as well."

"Myllenoris and the Coalition were successful in taking the city. I believe, however, they may want to fill it with people anew. If such is decided, would you come back to Orsona with me, and try to revitalize the church?"

"It could use people not lost in zealotry."

[02:00] Sparrow shrugs.

"We'll find out eventually, won't we?"

Sparrow's emerald eyes darted around the frozen city, a slight smile gracing his features.

"Something else?"

He fell silent after that, as he listened to Romani's request, all while a wide grin spread across his face.

"You are my Stellus, Romani. All you need to do is ask."

[02:01] A nod.

"That we will."

As that smile crossed Sparrow's face? Another would cross Romani's. A hand would reach out, settling upon Sparrow's shoulder.

"I do not know a Clergy member who I can trust more then you, Sparrow. You are my High Keeper, a person I believe in. As long as you believe in me, I will continue to try to be a Stellus you can believe in too."

"It is going to be a hard road. Thank you for walking it with me."

[02:06] Sparrow nods.

"Well, we're more than just clergy members, ain't we? We're family, so of course I have your back. I wish..." He pauses for a moment, as he sighs, a hand reaches into his pocket, pulling out a note, which he'd extend out towards Romani.

"Well, you can read that for yourself, I suppose."

He pauses.

"You'll always have my support, Romani. I promise. -And, so long as we walk this road together? I'm sure we'll be fine."

[02:11] Romani smiled.

"You are right. We are family. A bond that can not be shaken, or broken."

A small squeeze was given to the High Keeper's shoulder before letting his hand fall to his side and giving a sigh of relief.

"I believe we will be fine as well. Difficult times ahead, but times that will be lived through reguardless. First, I need to see about securing Orsona, after that,"

"I believe they talked about implementing an election system for ruler. I think such is a good idea."

[02:14] Sparrow simply nods his head at his cousin's initial statement. There was nothing more that truly needed to be said.

Well, at least about that topic.

"Well, should you require aid in securing our home, feel free to call upon me. Stars knows Osiris isn't a fan of me living out here, especially after we just got out own home."

A nervous chuckle escaped from his lips, as he slowly shook his head.

"-But yes! An election sounds like a rather good idea. I'm unsure who'd be a good fit to run the city right now, but I suppose we'll find out soon enough."

[02:16] Romani nodded.

"I imagine the first thing would be securing a population for Orsona. If it has leaders, people will want to come back. It has homes, so people will want to come back. We need to rebuild faith and trust in Orsona from the ground up, so that all comes first."

He would explained, already the next steps going through his mind before hearing that nervous chuckle.

"Well, the original plan was that Theria and Myllenoris would each send a representative to help set things back up. They would be assisted by a Stellus and a Lightbringer, and from that, an election would be held after six years."

"I kept asking them to sign on a paper, but they never did, but I think such is a good idea."

[02:21] "You won't hear me complaining about that plan."

It seemed rather reasonable to him.

"Plus, it saves me a whole load of hassle. A friend of mine, who may, or may not be a Dragon Lord now, was attempting to convince me to become King, or well... Something like it."

Sparrow shivered at the thought of all of that responsibility.

"Actually, I think it was two of them..."

He slowly shook his head.

"...Anyways, of course I'm going to do everything within my power to help rebuild out home."

[02:23] Romani would nod.

"That it does. I can see about ironing out the details, and implementing them. But if we have a plan to start with, we can build up from there. Also, if you desire to become elected, I do think people would believe in you."

"Terms would be six limits, and I know Regulus wanted a two term limit." He explained again, with a nod.

"Indeed, let us do everything that we can to rebuild Orsona, but without the ever destructive inner elements. We also need to hunt Witches, and locate what information we can on that."

[02:28] "Please no..."

The idea of having more responsibility wasn't something he was exactly yearning for, but...

"Though the name King Queen does sound pretty frickin' hilarious to me." A snicker followed, as he slowly shook his head from side, to side. "A term limit would prevent anyone from reigning indefinitely..."

"Though perhaps a means of removing someone from power should be put in place, in case they begin to abuse it..."

"But yes, the hunt never truly ends, does it?"

[02:30] Romani gave his own small snicker.

"Well, if not you, then someone else that the remaining people of Orsona believes in. It will also not be a settlement that supports Alexander's claim to the divine right to rule, I will let you know that in advance."

"But indeed. It is good to prevent people from reigning indefinitely. And the hope is that if someone begins to abuse power, the end of that six year period will come, and they will no longer be able to do so." He nodded.

"But yes. The hunt for evil truly does not end. And we need to restablish more good."

[02:34] Sandrid asks, "Do these blokes only sleep?"
[02:34] Sandrid asks, "Where is he?"
[02:35] "I figured as much."

Sparrow nods.

"But... There should be a safety measure in place, just in case. What if they began to abuse their power as soon as their term started? Could just be me worrying about nothing..."

He sighs.

"But don't you worry, we'll figure out a way to track them all down."

[02:36] "There should be safety measures. Well, for one, I know there is a triumvirate. If the Elected wishes to do something, they must have an overwhelming vote. I believe that in itself is a safety measure."

He reassured.

"We will. I wanted to use that Chiron shard that we got for it, but we may need to locate another."

[02:42] "Right, right. That is what the triumvirate is there for, ain't it?"

A nod follows, as he scratches the back of his neck for a moment.

"I'm... Actually not sure what we ended up using the Chiron shard for. Hopefully it was something important."

Did Del use it for something?

That was... More than likely.

[02:44] Romani nodded.

"It is. To limit the power of a ruler so if they do become corrupted, it will be lessened. We saw what happened when Serea and I were out of the picture with Alexander. I wish to prevent that in the future."

A small pause.

"I am uncertain as well. I told Del not to use it, but given their change in attitude and their willingness to tell untruths, I believe it is lost."

[02:50] "Yeah, I... I don't know what happened to Del. They used to be the kindest out of all of us, and now? They lost themselves to their own zealotry. It... Well, it was disheartening to hear about."

To think that of the three of them, Del would have become the most Zealous... That, that was probably the most shocking part out of all of this.

"A shame that the gem was used then... Oh well. We can go get another."

[02:53] A frown slowly crossed his face as Romani shook his head.

"I do not know what madness it was that touched them. But I know that because of it, they are likely to be banished from Orsona, if Myllenoris believes it proper. I did not expect them to be the one swallowed by calling others demons without proof."

"Did you know that the girl he wanted to talk about was not sacrificed, nor was she intended to be in the first place? And now.. it feels as if they are consumed by madness."

A sigh.

"... We still have the book on White magic."

[02:56] "I really, really don't know what happened there."

Sparrow can only sigh.

"Perhaps we can find away to aid them. We shouldn't just abandon our friend to their madness."

Though... There probably wasn't much he could do.

"-But! At least we have that. Do... Do you have any interest in learning said magic?"

[02:58] "I also have no idea."

A sigh.

"I would like to find a way to aid them as well. But I have seen Del strike down people, and I have seen the fervor that they are consumed by. I do not believe it will happen."

A shake of his head.

"I want to learn white magic, yes. I also think I may study wayfinding. These are difficult times, and we need ways to travel yet unused, and directions anew."

[03:02] "I wish I knew what went wrong, but... Oh well, I suppose."

Sparrow sighs.

"Wayfinding... That's always seemed rather interesting. I have no idea how it works, but perhaps it might be worth learning."

It was certainly something to consider in the future.

"Though I imagine one of us should probably learn white magic. We are the church, I figure someone in it should have a grasp over that magic. Who better than the Stellus?"

[03:04] "I wish I did as well. I wish a lot of things."

Eyes close as a breath is exhaled into the cold air of Theria. He turns, looking up towards the sky for a few moments.

"The ability to travel quicker may seem like something small. But I believe it could help many times over. Crossing distances, communication. I want to be able to advise, and to help."

"It is a magic that certainly does so."

He nods.

"We should also learn white magic as well. I intend to put a lot of time to study on it. But first, comes the tasks currently in front of us."

[03:06] "Teleportation magic."

That was... A rather simple way of explaining it, that probably didn't do it justice.

Not in the slightest.

"I imagine warping around the continent might be really, really fun. It sounds rather grand."

A nod follows.

"But yes! We should focus on the restoration of Osrona first, and foremost."
