  1. Very good. Really like how literally all the nationstates and everyone aligned with their states are all the bad guys, and it does a really good job of showing why they're the bad guys.
  2. Also really love how hard it's hammered in that literally everyone thinks theyre "saving the world" and how dangerous action for the sake of heroism can be. Also, literally noone has the full picture. So many people are doing what seems right from their standpoint. So much suffering is caused because of people understanding what they understand and acting rationally and even "morally", but as viewers with a broader picture we see how much they don't understand. Are they still moral? Who knows? Couldn't be me.
  3. Very interested to see where the framing with the "euthanasia" is going. On one hand, Pieck's line about not caring about her nation state, caring about her comrades, could lead to the easily romanticizable line of, none of this matters, what matters at the end of the day is kindness and love for the people around you, killing is bad, etc etc. Which, sure, especially when so much of the time your actions really can't affect the larger world around you, focusing on caring for your fellow humans on an individual level is cool and all, but also what if you could affect the world? Like the Jaegers?
  4. It does kindof seem like theyre going to frame the extremely hard to swallow pill of "euthanasia" as morally good. especially with Armin's reaction of being moved to tears in the last episode. "euthanasia" is literally genocide though. It literally is forcibly sterilizing a people for their removal. But then again, what is the solution? Eldia's king's ridiculously complex plan of walls and conquest inhibition clearly didn't solve the problem. What is the solution? Is there a solution that could end all this suffering? And what if a form of genocide is more peaceful than any alternative?
  5. Sasha/Gabi's line is by far my favorite though. Watching someone grapple with their bigotry, and in a way that truly gets to the heart of the issue, seeing others as their blood or their nation etc and confronting them as individuals, seeing the direct results of their hatred, all very poggers.
  6. Also really liking the terrible purpose trope. From Thanos to Paul Dune to Zeke and possibly the other Jaeger, watching someone grapple with doing horrible yet relatively small moral harm in service to some far greater moral good is mega chills. Especially when the veracity of that moral good isn't really clear, but their conviction moves you from doubt.
  7. I think eren might just be a dick though. I'm pretty sure he's always been a dick. There might be an argument for his cruelty towards Mikasa and her "blood" w/e, but but beating the shit out of Armin and then his reason for it being "you're weak" doesn't really seem like an unfortunate sacrifice for something greater lmao
