In these dark times, sometimes an oracle makes it known what could
happen. While, most of the time, we think them insane, as is the case in
Apollonia, we end up kicking ourselves when we find out they are the
real thing. This book is dedicated to Apollonia, who turned out to be
the real thing.

Currently, it is unknown if she will be able to get more prophecies,
after someone got rid of her tongue. And so, this is the most complete
version I could find.

Kuntar says, "Now, I don't mean to cause a panic, but has anyone else
seen Apollonia in the planetarium?"

You say, "Is Apollonia in the planetarium?"

Kuntar says, "She is. Her tongue seems to have been cut out."

Griffel says, "Eeeep."

Kuntar says, "She's tied up and unconcious."

You say, "Oh.."


....A few moments later after I'd prismed in.....

A vast underground cavern.
A natural cavern has been dramatically enlarged to create a vast
underground workspace, dimly illuminated by a scant few glowing glass
orbs perched atop
sconces nailed upon the walls. The dirt beneath has been stamped down by
hundreds of footprints, humanoid and not. Piles of odourless bat guano
lie swept into one corner, and used cargo crates are stacked high within
another, empty but for the straw lining now spilled upon the ground.
Though there appears to
have been a great deal of activity here at one time, the cavern lies
mostly empty now, warm and silent in the earth's embrace. Badly beaten
and bruised,
young Apollonia lies here bound and unconscious. Professor of Verminous
Study, Kuntar Semshan, Master of the Obvious is riding on a red balloon
twisted into a giraffe. He wields a beautiful practice rapier in his
left hand and a small blackjack in his right.
There are no obvious exits.

Kuntar nudges Apollonia, the Oracle of the Mannaseh suggestively.

Dried blood mats Apollonia's hair, and her beautiful features twist with
pain even in her state of coma. Her dry, cracked lips are slightly
parted, just enough to show a stump where her tongue should have been.


Kuntar says, "Got in here by opening a book in the library."

You pet Apollonia, the Oracle of the Mannaseh ingratiatingly.

Lakeside Lyricist, Lythea Windsong says, "There's a library? I missed
stuff."

Delphinus blinks incredulously at Apollonia, the Oracle of the Mannaseh.

You say, "Can we get her to somewhere she can get healing?"

Silas creases his brow in a frown.

says, "As you open an illuminated book, hidden mechanisms whirr and
click, and you find the segment of floor beneath you move. When you look
up from the book you were about to pull off the shelf, you find yourself
in a vast underground cavern."

Professor of Verminous Study, Kuntar Semshan, Master of the Obvious

Kuntar empties out a bucket on top of Apollonia, the Oracle of the
Mannaseh, covering it in water.

Lakeside Lyricist, Lythea Windsong says, "Guano, how unexpected."

With a wistful look on his face, Delphinus touches Apollonia, the Oracle
of the Mannaseh.

says, "Maybe it'd be best if we first found a way out of here?"

Delphinus Windancer, the Gatecrasher says, "I think if there was one,
she would've found it."

"Ugh!", Seilyn says in disgust.

The pregnant nightmare bends her neck lower to touch her forehead
against the unconscious girl's. A pulse of brilliant energy surrounds
Apollonia for an instant, and when it fades, the nightmare appears even
less substantial than before.

Ack' Delphinus says at a pregnant nightmare.

You stroke Apollonia, the Oracle of the Mannaseh tenderly.

Dharke closes her eyes and begins to chant a secret incantation.

A small, guttural noise issues from Apollonia's throat as her eyes, as
blue as a patch of cloudless and sunlit sky, fly open, and she sits
upright.

The noise is replaced by choking sobs as tears flow freely from
Apollonia's face, streaking through the dirt and dried blood on her
cheeks. She throws her arms around the nightmare's neck and holds on
tightly as the nightmare continues to nuzzle her comfortingly.

Apollonia opens her mouth and her lips shape words in response, but
without a tongue to guide them, nothing but a terrible moan issues
forth.
Seilyn looks about himself, rubbing his chin thoughtfully.

The pregnant nightmare collapses heavily onto her side, gasping. Her
abdomen contracts and expands rapidly.

"Bah!" Kuntar retorts disgustedly.

Dharke Concordia, Viperas Potentor says, "Haha, lipreading isn't
helping."

Professor of Verminous Study, Kuntar Semshan, Master of the Obvious
says, "Oh boy."

Seilyn Moonflair, Vagrant of Autumn says, "Oh no."

You blink.

Delphinus Windancer, the Gatecrasher says, "Here we go."

The lamassus lope swiftly to the nightmare, surrounding her on all sides
and concealing her from view.

Professor of Verminous Study, Kuntar Semshan, Master of the Obvious
says, "Stand back, I helped deliver a snow leopard cub."

A black lamassu exclaims, "Hark, the child comes!"

A black lamassu exclaims, "Hail to the blessed mother!"

A black lamassu exclaims, "Be strong!"

Rolland rubs his hands together in prayer, and you feel healing energy
begin to emanate into your surroundings.

Elizabeth watches, eyes wide with wonder.

A long, shuddering neigh from the nightmare from within the circle of
lamassus is answered by a shorter, high-pitched sound, somewhere between
a squeal and a snort.

Professor of Verminous Study, Kuntar Semshan, Master of the Obvious
says, "I hope I'm the father."

Kuntar's eyes raise to the heavens as a look of hope flashes across his
face.


Dalavan pets a newborn nightmare foal ingratiatingly.

Delphinus flashes a newborn nightmare foal a joyous smile.

"Awwwww!" you say.

The mother nightmare nuzzles her foal lovingly with the last of her
strength.

Then, all strength spent, her head falls with a terrible thud to the
ground, the light behind her eyes snuffed out.

A wispy forelock the colour of starlight falls over this newborn foal's
eyes, which are an intense, fiery green and lit from within by a
disquieting awareness and intelligence unlike any equine you have ever
seen. The foal's short black coat shimmers as if dew-kissed. An
extremely faint, circular depression lies between her upraised ears, its
black, bony surface barely visible against her ebon coat.

Yrael pets a newborn nightmare foal ingratiatingly.

Emynui blinks.

You sniffle softly.

Namino Silverwing says, "Well."

curled alone upon the ground.

Namino Silverwing says, "Now what do we do."
