  1. It is not our creator who speaks of my story, today. I will tell you directly, for I see that he will misconstrue some events. I am Harox, the Doomsayer, former angel of the Celestial Realm. Let's get this over with.
  2.
  3. With a flash of hot light, I came into existence on a world made of clouds and gold, facing a formless sphere of pure radiance, surrounded by others just like me. We had no name for it, so we called it Creator. Creator spoke to us of its plans for reality, how it wished to make things just like us, make a life for them all. He called us Solars, and named each of us; Taris, Yoggoth, Wayrix, Charjai, Zarazel, Iotorus, and finally, myself, Harox. I cannot remember how the others looked, but I knew that we were all exceptionally attractive... Far unlike myself, now.
  4.
  5. Centuries we spent with Creator, making life forms that were less stable than we are. First, we experimented with making beings out of the gold and clouds, and thus, we created the first Deva. They were a little weak, compared to us, but it was a nice start. We tried adding more gold, and a bit of Creator's divine essence, and created the first Planetar. I remember the first day I saw that Planetar tower over me. A terrifying thing it was, but it was very gentle. It messed up my hair that day. I didn't enjoy that much.
  6.
  7. Creator called us three species the Angels, and stated that we were to protect the world that we were going to create together. Mostly the Devas and Planetars, but we couldn't be lazy, either. I remember Yoggoth's reaction fondly: "That's dumb and boring." Yoggoth was later tasked with making the more disgusting parts of mortals, the organs. Hahaha... I miss the other Solars, sometimes.
  8.
  9. Creator drew energies from himself, slowly shaping a ball of rock that existed in the endless void below the Celestial Realm, and called it Oura. Yoggoth suggested calling it Yg'Tol'Uns'Wit, I remember that much, but eventually we agreed Oura was the best name for the place. I believe Yoggoth later named his son with Charjai Yg'Tol'Uns'Wit instead.
  10.
  11. Slowly, we mapped out how the place of rock would be, covering it in liquid you now know as water, leaving bits and pieces open for rocky continents to form. It was a desolate place, and we had no idea how to fix that. We tried placing various species there, but all of them ended up dying before long. Until, eventually, instead of using our essence to make them, we tried the rocks. And, thus, we crafted the first race; the Shardmind.
  12.
  13. The Shardmind did not need to eat, sleep, or breathe, and as such they were able to live in this wasteland of a world we had given them, and they were eternally grateful. I tried naming a few, but Iotorus told me not to become attached. Young and naive as I was back then, so I told him there wasn't any issue with growing attached... I still sometimes see the faces of the dead Shardmind I had named, in my dreams.
  14.
  15. One issue we had when creating the world was that, without any sort of protection from the hot void around the rocks, the water frequently boiled and fires would start on rocks, and while it wouldn't kill the Shardmind, it did make a few become melded together, and some would never be able to move again due to this, only able to scream in pain as we, their creators, were too frightened to try and fix it. I hate my actions back then. We could have fixed them, could have saved so many of them from suffering, could have let some stay alive in this new age! ...But we didn't.
  16.
  17. Eventually, the Shardmind had a creation of their own, and they showed it to us, excitedly. It was a giant being, made of the pinkish-red quartz that made up their bodies, a colossus that they dubbed Polertorns. Zarazel and Yoggoth both told the rest of us that it was a bad idea to let them keep Polertorns, but we overruled them. Polertorns had some sort of magic, and had a sense of imagination none of us had; he created plants, he made trees, put out the blazing fires, and he even made an atmosphere. We were all stunned! He even created some odd lifeforms, that we dubbed 'animals.' They were odd things to us, eating the plants Polertorns created, and sometimes even one another, but they were beautiful.
  18.
  19. Polertorns was a favorite with everyone but Zarazel and Yoggoth, and we allowed him to craft most of the world, to which he led the Shardmind in prosperity. We loved watching him, but we desired an up-close view, to interact with this hulking colossus. So, for the first time, we all went onto the planet, instead of watching from above in the Celestial Realm. We had expected open arms, but, Polertorns retreated from us. Polertorns was scared of us. We had no idea why, and we told him we were going to be friends with him. Eventually, Polertorns let us become friends with him.
  20.
  21. The Shardmind were a very intelligent society, but even with their intelligence, they make mistakes. One day, Polertorns started to act slower, and so, I gazed into his mind... The fools had built him incorrectly! The crystal marking his intelligence was not a durable one, and it already had cracks from use. I constantly warned Polertorns, told him that his mind would not last forever, and it only made him more terrified.
  22.
  23. We would pass the time on this world, as we enjoyed it far more than the Celestial Realm, by studying the culture the Shardmind had created, up-close. Apparently, they had called us, the Solars, titans. We thought it was a name more fitting for Polertorns' gigantic size, and so, at that point, we decided to ascend Polertorns to the level of a titan.
  24.
  25. One day, Yoggoth told us that we would be unable to lead them forever. "Polertorns has issues with his mind, and the rest of us don't understand the problems of the Shardmind." Yoggoth had told us. "We need to give a portion of our divine power to the people." And, so, we created what is now called the Pantheon, with the help of Polertorns and the Shardmind. The Pantheon was able to give divine energy to people, and multiple Shardmind stepped up for the power. Polertorns assured us he had everything under control.
  26.
  27. He didn't. His 'tests' to weed out the weaker for titans consisted of him fighting them to the death, and not a one could kill him.
  28.
  29. One animal had somehow, some way, grown uncanny intellect, and called itself the Kraken. The Kraken was adorably deceptive, and Polertorns couldn't bring himself to hurt it. He gave up, and it drew from the Pantheon, as a titan. It was a terrible beast, and didn't care for Polertorns, but showed affection towards me, of all the Solars. I didn't know why it did, but I do, now.
  30.
  31. Decades later, as the Kraken grew to giant sizes, it slowly killed every one of the Shardmind, until none were remaining. They couldn't reproduce to stop the murder, as only we could create them. However, the Kraken was cunning, and it had destroyed and consumed every last bit of the quartz used to make the Shardmind, meaning the only way to resurrect their race was to kill Polertorns and use the quartz he was made out of. I wish we had done that, in a way...
  32.
  33. Over millenia, the animals Polertorns had created began to change shape, slowly. They turned into bipeds, some losing their fur, some not, and some mutating. This was the age of humanoids, of intelligence, now. However, we were busy in the Celestial Realm, and could not watch them. All of our information was from the two titans left down below.
  34.
  35. One day, the Kraken came to us. It told us that the humanoids were terrible, and that it needed to purge them. Every other angel did not believe a purge was needed, but the Kraken had been secretly consulting with me. It told me of horrible deeds being done, of murder and rape, of theft, and of torture. Every single day I was barraged with horrid information, and saw the humanoids as horrible scum. So, in private, after the meeting with the Kraken, I made a pact with it. A pact stating that the Kraken would be able to draw on my power, temporarily.
  36.
  37. With that power, the Kraken killed over half of the entire planet; animal, humanoid, and plant alike, and raised the humanoids and animals as undead. Using all of the power I could expend for a year, combined with its own, it broke the magical shell that normally made undead lose their sentience, instead binding their souls to their very forms.
  38.
  39. While I slowly worked to regain my power, the other six angels found of our secret pact, and beat me. They cursed my name, they told me how everything was my fault, and I begged for forgiveness. Creator finally stopped the pain, and spoke to me. I was no longer welcome among the angels, and he gave me a macabre gift; I lost my beauty, my face, and my radiance, and in return I would never be able to make the mistakes I had made again, as I could now see into the future. With one last goodbye, Creator sent me onto Oura, and bound me to the Pantheon, as a titan. That was the last I ever heard of Taris, Wayrix, Charjai, Iotorus, and Creator.
  40.
  41. There was nothing I could do for an entire year, so I hid, laying low, and watching the world turn terrible. The War Between Life and Death began, and backing the undead were the two whom had called my acts disgusting more than the others; Zarazel and Yoggoth. Zarazel lacked the gold-and-white aura of an angel, instead boasting red flesh and blackened wings, while Yoggoth was barely even recognizable, appearing like a horrid mass of eyeballs, tentacles, arms, and scaled wings, in a vaguely humanoid shape. The first fiend, and the first aberration.
  42.
  43. When my power was restored, the war was already being lost. I was far weaker than Zarazel and Yoggoth alone, but them combined with an army was too much. I had to run, and run I did. I lived in the mountains for many years, and when the war was over, I created a tower out of the mountain, hiding it from sight with my leftover angelic magic.
  44.
  45. I have seen all of the events of this world, and I yet do not know what will happen, now. I may see the future, but there are some things I cannot say, WILL not say. Some thoughts are so horrible, my mind cannot conjure up the image again, or I fear I will go mad.
  46.
  47. I am Harox, and I miss enjoying my life.
