  1. =======Cruis'n League 2021=======
  2.
  3. Host: L-Roy (message me about any questions/concerns/payments)
  4.
  5. What: Cruis'n League is a yearly triple tournament involving Cruis'n USA/WORLD and EXOTICA with cash prizes. A contestant can sign up for one game or all three if they would like. These are the categories that will be run at this year's league: Any% (Cruis'n USA) / Cruise the World: Easy (Cruis'n World)/ Exotica Mode - Modern (Cruis'n Exotica). Competitors can agree beforehand either to a best of 1 or best of 3 format. If no agreement is made it will be best of 1.
  6.
  7. When: Matches will take place throughout the months of October-November (rounds or early brackets) and December (semi-finals and finals). Match times will be decided between the host (me) and the two competitors. Most competitors should not expect more than a 5-hour commitment throughout the entire league.
  8.
  9. How: Sign up by filling in the doc sheet below the post. Requirements to Compete: (1) You must be able to stream* (2) Entry cost is free for the first 8 people to sign up for one game, then the entry cost is 15 dollars (please message me to send in an entry fee) (3) you must have a speedrun.com time for the game and category in question AT THE TIME YOU SIGN UP (4) EMU or N64 is fine
  10.
  11. *If you would like help setting up a stream or to buy cheap equipment please ask. Streaming N64 games is absurdly easy nowadays. Don't let this be a barrier to compete!
  12.
  13. Logistics:
  14.
  15. (1) Sign-ups close permanently on October 1st.
  16.
  17. (2) At least 6 people need to register or the game in question will "drop out" (hopefully this does not happen but we can't really do a league with too few people).
  18.
  19. (3) If 6-16 people have signed up the format will be double elimination (this means each contestant will be guaranteed at least two matches).
  20.
  21. (4) If more than 16 players sign up there will be a pools stage and then a single-elimination tournament with 8 competitors (this means each contestant will be guaranteed at least three matches).
  22.
  23. (5) As noted above, competitors can agree beforehand either to a best of 3 format or a best of 1 format. If no agreement is made it will be best of 1.
  24.
  25. (6) Timing methods will be IGT, this means that restarting a race will result in you AUTOMATICALLY FOREFEITING THE ROUND IN QUESTION.
  26.
  27. (7) All matches will be restreamed on my stream then posted on Youtube (unless there is a timely objection by any competitor).
  28.
  29. (8) Each competitor is allowed one technical difficulty excuse. If your stream crashes mid-race or mom unplugs the wi-fi, we restart at zero once you have sorted your technology out. If at any point for the rest of the tournament it happens again, you forfeit the race in question UNLESS it is a semi or grand final race. In this case, the race will restart (you will not be DQ'd) and your final time will have a +10 second penalty added. There is one exception however to this entire rule, if the other competitor (whose stream did not have problems) finishes the speedrun within two minutes of the other competitor's stream crashing, the technical difficulty excuse rule does NOT apply.
  30.
  31. (9) Prize pools will be distributed as follows: 1st place: 65% of the prize pool 2nd Place: 25% of the prize pool Player who improves their leaderboard time the most from the start of the tournament to their elimination: 10% of the prize pool. To make a donation to the USA/World or Exotica Prize pool please message me personally. If the prize pools look low when sign-ups close, I will personally make sure that there is something worth racing for prior to the tournament(s) starting. All stream donations I get will go toward the prize pool of the game that is being streamed. Prize Pools will be updated below this post.
