  1. Rather tentative for now, if I ever remember to edit this to be better or even post to FF net, I'll tell you.
  2. ................................................................
  3.
  4. "No, you misunderstand. Married. M-A-R-R-I-E-D. I am going to marry him and be his wife. " Huffed Willow as she crossed her legs. <<I knew that the government took a long time to get anything done but this is a bit much!>> She beamed over to Anon, before catching the tail end of what Officer Jenny had said.
  5.
  6. "I can't...This is HIGHLY Irregular. You can't just barge in here and demand to be married, considering your… situation."
  7. Eyes dancing over the wing framed face of the...Female in front of her, she continued with a tic of annoyance.
  8.
  9. "You cannot be married by me. You do not have the right to be married under Hoenn law, because you are a Pokemon. Even one that...talks… does not have the right of citizenship here, due to *cough cough*...section 17 paragraph 3 line 9 of the Declaration of Rights of Man and Pokemon, "Being a free man, of sound mind, a man can do all that the LAW does not specifically forbade." Note how it doesn't mention Pokemon and their right to lawyers or some such." Officer Jenny finished.
  10.
  11. Anon looked at her incredulously. "I'm not a real lawyer, but shouldn't you have read us a section pertaining to Pokemon, not me?" A soft green hand laid upon his, comforting him while he went through a personally embarrassing moment of his life. Willow was saddened that he was so hot and flustered, sweaty palmed, embarrassed. She was upset that he was embarrassed at what should be a happy moment between the two of them.
  12.
  13. "Anyways, as a Police Officer, I couldn't marry you and your Gardevoir anyway, Mr. Ymous. You'd need a judge who would have both the authority and the inclination to do something that would make them unelectable. I cannot help you, and morally, I would not help you. I find this situation wrong. Have a good day."
  14.
  15. Eyes narrowing, green finger that had merely laid upon trembling hands gripped them,.and hard. Beyond this small show of rage, Willow did nothing overtly vengeful. Only a clipped "Good day." from her, and a strangled "Thank you for your help." from Anon left them as they stood up. Willow could feel the bleeding daggers from Officer Jenny's eyes as they peirced the back of her skull. She did not deign to look back at that...abuser of public faith- oh, she's just a BITCH! Just a rotten, no good B-
  16.
  17. "Sweetheart, take it easy. You are hurting my hand. " Anon comforted, rubbing the back of her hand with his thumb, and as the hairs of her head fell down from their raised and enraged position, she took in the worried faces of the small town they lived in. The local Pastor, the Butcher, and local schoolteacher quickly found somewhere else to look, but the poison in her eyes had struck Willow right through the heart.
  18.
  19. "Let's go home, Hun. I'd like to go over our options. This won't be the end of this. I made a promise, after all."
  20.
  21. 'I hope.' Willow's heart cracked.
  22. ……………………
  23. Anon's family house was a small, cozy affair that was all a small family on a middle class income needed to be comfortable. Gas stove, microwave, queen sized beds, even a fireplace for a cold night in winter, not that it often got very cold in Southern Hoenn, which was far more southernly than the rest of the Nation.
  24.
  25. It was into a comfortable living room that a dejected Anon and Willow sat down when they entered the house, the rude looks they had received from the town having tossed their spirits down a well.
  26.
  27. "I am guessing that your attempting to get a police officer to marry you didn't go so well, which I could have told you kids." Anon's mom spoke up as she saw the dejection on their faces. "You need a judge at least, preferably a county clerk or a minister, if you want a church style wedding."
  28.
  29. "Why didn't you tell us that beforehand?" Anon asked his mother simply.
  30.
  31. "You two are such hard heads, you'd go over and ask anyway, even if I did warn you. Been that way since you were kids, particularly you, Willow. I cannot count how many times you nearly burned down the house attempting to perfect food for your...er, Fiancé."
  32.
  33. Willow looked back at Anon's Mom sharply, eyes wet from their rage not an hour ago, before she started to chuckle a bit, and her demeanor returned. "I wanted to be perfect for him, and I didn't know to ask for help then. Honestly, I don't know what I was thinking, attempting to follow recipes online without any instructions."
  34.
  35. Anon perked up at find memories of his live interest when they had been young. "Brownies shaped like me was a bit creepy, 'low. Cookies would have been much easier, but you eventually did do it. I just wish they didn't come out burned." He grimaced.
  36.
  37. "When you are 2 feet tall, you try reading the timer on the oven. Oven mitts at least 3 times your size, go up.past your elbows, have to use a step stool to the side of the door just to put something in…" with a sigh, she continued. "I'm pretty great at it now, but it could have been better. Watching the moon rise with you has been a special moment in my heart ever since."
  38.
  39. Mom found this to be really sweet, even if both unusual and still somewhat creepy. 'she's gone from a pseudo sister to being his future wife, of course it's a little weird. Can't complain with her ethics on being a wife though. Good vocabulary to teach...whatever the kids come out as.' she thought bittersweetly.
  40.
  41. "All are born to die, it is up to us to use our time upon this Earth, huh? So why not live as great a person as we can?" Willow completed the line of thoughts that Anon's Mom was having.
  42.
  43. Surreptitiously, she sent a thin thought to her. <<I will take care of him. To betray such a man, young and untested he may be, would be betraying my own, selfish morals, ethics, and desires. Plus, I owe you at least 3...4 or more grandbabies, so look forward to it!>> Finishing her message with a mental image of a thumbs up, she sat back, listening to the reply.
  44.
  45. 'It is as you say. Although, my word, giving you that copy of Meditations really has made you a different Gardevoir.' Aloud, "You should leave Olddale Town. Perhaps Professor Birch could vouch for you two? He has a lot of weight in both the Pokemon community and even the Political one, he's the major employer of Littleroot Town and helps influence all the trainers of Hoenn. Why not try him for help?"
  46.
  47. Anon considered this a good idea, of course. "Why didn't I think of that! The Prof will know what to do! Or at least someone who can do something to help us. We should pack to leave in the morning."
