I think you have a skewed view of America.  You can't get a realistic picture of things here by watching movies or the American news.  Doubtless, we have our problems, but by and large things are very good here.  I would never claim to have any particular knowledge about Romania because I have never been there.  Likewise, I would not expect someone who has never been to America to have a true understanding of life here.
