  1. Cortionn
  2. Protector Aasimar Cleric of the Grave Domain
  3. Kelemvor - lord of the dead, judge of the damned.
  4.
  5. Aspires to be a doomguide of the church of Kelemvor. Doomguides are the elite of the followers of Kelemvor, their primary focus is consolation of the dying, the dead, and those who were left behind by the dead. Their secondary focus is destruction of the undead. He's doing his rounds in the country to alleviate the pain and suffering of the ley folk (maybe there's some reason why he'd be in a certain city, maybe a plague or war of some sort where he's most needed.)
  6. Heavy armor, shield and mace. heavy dark woolen cloak doubly folded over his shoulders, indicative of long trips on the road. They're threadbare around the neck after years of being tugged over his head. A large pale gold symbol adorns the back of it, it's both sun faded and only recognizable to those who would know his station.
  7. He carries a small sun-bleached black leather book. In it he notes the names of the people he's helped pass and how they pass. He also notes any indication of undeath or any hint of necromancy to report back to the church's doomguides.
  8. His skin is the color of radiant bronze, his eyes a bright milky blue-white. He's tall and built utilitarian, lightly muscled but thin from days on foot with little but the most basic of food, a staple gruel of the church.
  9. Maybe he looks daunting to an average person. Although he's always welcomed into cities and towns, sometimes people are less than warm to him if recognized as an agent of looming death. He tries to remind those that would avoid him that he's there to heal instead of take away. he's been known to cure a plague, run out a fever, dampen an uprising of undead, write the final wishes of a dying family member, set in order the affairs of the dead, and occassionally been granted the treasures or property of people who have passed without clear and apparent heirs in the name of the church.
  10.
  11. Ideas:
  12. Maybe he's been targeted by forces that hate the church of kelemvor. These could be the undead or liches. Because of this he cloaks himself, maybe he paints his distinct skin color to cover up the fact that he's aasimar which might be a dead giveaway of his alignment. In this sense he looks identical to a human so that no one who might know what an Aasimar is would ask questions.
  13.
  14. What's he like?
  15. -views death as a necessity, sees it and its effects on the daily. He's not unfeeling or uncaring because of it. The opposite, he's more able to sympathise with those facing death.
  16. -charismatic, he's met hundreds of people in tens of towns and knows how to sympathise, therefore he knows how to think like the person who he's talking to.
  17. -terrible distaste of the undead, necromancy, unnatural longevity of life. However, he can again sympathise with people who want to extend their life, he can understand the desire to want to live forever. Mindless undead he'll destroy with little respect, necromancy he'll rout, but just the average person who might want to find a way to extend his life he'll dissuade from doing so as best he can before taking action.
  18. -he feels as though his Deva guide is always watching over him, for better or worse. He never lets people know who this person is. (does he even know if this person is real?) Sometimes he needs to think to himself how Galladia would respect how he handles a situation. Although she's altruistic, sometimes he second guesses himself for her sake.
  19. -more goes here!
  20.
  21. Why would he join a party?
  22. -I could see this being because his guide tells him to do so, that she can foresee something that isn't immediatley apparent to him.
  23. -Maybe they're heading towards an area of heavy undeath, for which he can clean that up.
  24. -?

  43. Grave Domain:
  44. Gods of the grave watch over the line between
  45. life and death. To these deities, death and the
  46. afterlife are a foundational part of the
  47. multiverse’s workings. To resist death, or to
  48. desecrate the dead’s rest, is an abomination.
  49. Deities of the grave include Kelemvor, Wee Jas,
  50. the ancestral spirits of the Undying Court, Hades,
  51. Anubis, and Osiris. These deities teach their
  52. followers to respect the dead and pay them due
  53. homage. Followers of these deities seek to put
  54. restless spirits to rest, destroy the undead
  55. wherever they find them, and ease the suffering
  56. of dying creatures. Their magic also allows them
  57. to stave off a creature’s death, though they
  58. refuse to use such magic to extend a creature’s
  59. lifespan beyond its mortal limits
