- [11:38] Aerilon sets down a set of folded Faith robes, nodding towards Romani halfheartedly.
- (Aerilon Tsuchai)
- [11:38] {Item} You picked up Hood Of The Faith. Dropped by Aerilon Tsuchai. .
- [11:38] {Item} You picked up Cloak Of The Faith. Dropped by Aerilon Tsuchai. .
- [11:39] Romani did pause initially. As Aerilon came by, he began to open his mouth, going with the first assumption that came to mind, only to pause. Eyes looked towards the Faith robes that were presented to him, picking them up.
- A small swallow. "Who's? And thank you for returning them."
- (Romani cos Montclaire)
- [11:47] The corners of the Archdruid's mouth tug downwards, and he simply shakes his head. There was little joy in this, in anything as of late.
- "They are not.. not spoils of war. Given, by a child long ago- surprisingly well fitting."
- He sighs, glassy eyes staring without any of their usual intensity.
- "I had made a promise to Inante, to.."
- He trails off, her name doesn't need to be said, not now.
- "-I had promised to patrol Osrona, search out the witches sighted. The one in red in particular. I had used the cloak as a disguise, when wandering through even as the war raged. It seems I have failed that promise, more than I imagined."
- A sharp inhale.
- "I suppose it is clear I have no need for it, now. You, however, will need it for what you seek to build. I would hope to see you succeed, where I failed."
- His eyes turn as Finley leaves the tower, and frown seems to deepen even further as thefaint glimmer of the crown is visible atop his head. There is no nod offered, not this time, but a look of almost sympathy. For everything.
- (Aerilon Tsuchai)
- [11:48] "I'll be calling to speak with all the Mistseers soon, Aerilon. There's matters I must discuss with you and Elred." Finley blinked, realizing there were only two of them remaining. "We'll need to appoint another.." His gaze was distant, as if he was in some deep and quiet conversation aside from this one.
- Eventually the Teraphim noticed Romani and gave his friend a single nod.
- "We should head inside. There's much I'd like to discuss. But first I need to send word to the Coalition."
- (Finley)
- [11:49] Finley says, "Need paper.."
- [11:49] Finley says, "Thank you."
- [11:52] A small exhale at that. With all the war and destruction that had been going on? There was never a time he was more glad to be incorrect. His eyes raise, looking to the Archdruid anew.
- "I.. see." A small nod. "I appreciate it. Both you assisting in the searching for Witches, and the return of the outfit. I believe that it would be best for them to continued to be search for." A small pause.
- "It is okay to fail. I believe that. From failures, we learn, and we work to not make the same mistakes again. I have failed more times in my life then I can count. All the same? We must try to fail less in the future."
- "It is all we can do. Thank for your kind words, and your encouragement. I do hope to rebuild something with a strong foundation, and to build peace anew."
- Woth that? Romani would give Finley a nod. "Right. I will go with you. There is a lot I wish to discuss as well, and send word to the Coalition?"
- (Romani cos Montclaire)
- [12:01] The first thing Finley did once he took his seat was remove the Crown, and in doing so, a weight was very obviously pulled from his shoulders. It was a strange thing that Asta only did on certain occasions, but the new High Lord had always been what she was not.
- He blinked his eyes a few times, as if just waking up, before taking his seat atop the raised pedestal of Myllenoris' tower.
- "..hello, old friend." he started, as if he hadn't greeted Romani outside. Finley's voice was flat with the edge of sadness to it. "I-.." he paused as the courier he sent for entered.
- "Hello, Arch." the High Lord rose from his seat, intent to write some letters and pass them off to the messenger. "I hope you're alright with staying on as Myllenoris' first choice in delivering letters. Regulus and Asta trusted you, and I don't believe there's another I can turn to in these times."
- "One moment, Romani.." Finley said as he began writing. "..though feel free to speak your thoughts. Or whatever you wish to talk to me about while I send these off."
- "Arch is trusted."
- (Finley)
- [12:05] Romani would nod. For a few moments, he is silent, just articulating his thoughts.
- "Orsona is currently wrecked by the results of the war. But it need not stay that way. I want to see it rebuilt as much as possible from it's currently ravaged state. To that end, I have already sought out three individuals to help me with such."
- "Two of them were chased out by Alexander. The third is my wife. I would also like to start work on implementing the Elected process. I have written up a draft."
- As he spoke, Romani drew a paper from his pocket, writing upon it before holding it out towards Finley.
- "The path ahead is far from easy. But I do believe that the Coalition can bring peace, a peace that can not be found following Alexander."
- (Romani cos Montclaire)
- [12:05] He couldn't lie-- the death of High Lady Asta and Lord Chancellor Regulus? Absolutely an upset, even for the messenger who pledged zero loyalty to any man or woman. Monarch or Peasant.
- Calling forth, the Courier peered into the room. "Howdy, High Lord Finley." Offering a curt nod. "I'd be content with it. I'll continue to fulfill my duties just as I did before." Talk of Regulus and Asta's trust brought the faintest hint of a smile to Arch's face.
- "Nice seein' you again, Romani."
- Silence followed.
- (Arch)
- [12:12] Finley handed three letters to Arch.
- "The first is for Alabastre, for the hands of Basil preferably. If not him, then Mars only, though I'd prefer the former receive it."
- He handed over a second one once Arch had that letter secure.
- "This one is for Theria. Alya or Rinn is preferred, but any Dragonlord who will see to it that they are aware is acceptable."
- And then the last one.
- "For Sythaeryn. He's likely already in the ruins of Osrona, but no one knows how long that'll last. See to it that he gets this."
- Finley turned back toward his pedestal and said, "Those three along with a vocal message to Kofe, if you see him before I do, telling him that we're to meet in Osrona with the Coalition on the night of the new moon. I believe he's the last of the prominent Rhoynur alive that might lead Ilburg after all of this."
- The High Lord stopped on the steps and looked back.
- "How much did Asta and Regulus normally pay you?"
- A hand was held up to Romani, not to tell him to stop talking, but just to signal to him that Finley would respond once the courier was off.
- (Finley)
- [12:19] Tucking away one letter, after another.
- Alabastre's letter? Simple enough! Although, it was evident to the Courier that Basil'd let the letter eventually slip to his wife. "Soon as Basil rouses from sleep."
- The next letter? A touch more complicated-.. "Alya'll be my first choice, Rinn tends to be unreliable involvin' letters." Diplomatically challenged! Arch'd coin it--
- Then the last one.
- "Sythaeryn'll either be in Osrona or Alabastre, should I be expectin' any of your Teraphim dottin' the area within the ruins?" Could've been trouble if some were still-... emotional about the High Lady's departure.
- "Kofe, I'll have to check 'round for-- Also? Asta and Regulus ranged their pay dependin' on the importance of the letter."
- "Most was a grand."
- Withthat said? Arch was set.
- (Arch)
- **They talk about payment for a while.**
- [12:29] Once Finley returned to the cushioned seat, he sat down and unfolded the page which the Stellus had written on. His pale eyes scanned the paper, nodding along with much of what it said.
- "This'll do, Romani. Once the Coalition has met, we'll set this motion forward. I've no problems seeing a reconstruction or Osrona.." The way he said it spoke of some hidden regret in the results of the war. But Finley wasn't about to apologize for his actions. What had been done was done, and all they could do now was continue forward.
- "And I trust you, of course. In all of this you've remained yourself, true to your beliefs and ideals for a better world, Romani. I can't ask much else from someone. You're free to call yourself the standing head of what's left of Osrona."
- (Finley)
- [12:29] Ella Gracia says, "That should be sufficiant."
- [12:30] Arch says, "Won't waste any more time then."
- [12:30] Arch says, "Unless someone else has a letter? I'll be taking my leave."
- [12:31] Ro didn't say anything during the entirety of the situation. His eyes were more focused on the meeting that was there and making sure that everything was fine and dandy.
- It wasn't much that the teenager could say either. Despite that, he was still learning.
- (Ro)
- [12:32] Romani would give a nod.
- "I will make a few announcements once the Coalition has met, then. I, personally, want to see the reconstruction come as soon as possible. I have been working non-stop for that outcome since I have been released."
- There was a small bit of joy in his tone as he spoke. Sure, it may have taken a while for him to get free, but now that he was, and there was plenty of work? He could keep busy.
- "And I thank you for your trust. I want to be an honest person. I want to be true to my beliefs and my ideals, and I want a rebuilt Orsona to be part of the Coalition. I will lead Orsona towards that goal all I can, and assist in the rebuilding. I hope to also see the results of the first Election go well." A pause, thinking of anything he might have missed.
- "You seem almost troubled, Finley. Is something the matter?"
- (Romani cos Montclaire)
- [12:33] She would put pen to paper and write a softly worded command towards Tonak. Threats would be made, but Ella would not see them fall through. She smiled, taking a seat after the letter was wrote...
- "Osrona should be rebuilt in our image... Perhaps the church could be remodeled to be one of Aschea and the stars - a joined front so to speak. The two do to hand in hand afterall…"
- Yet she looked towards the High-Lord... "How are the whispers Finley... Are you holding up okay?" Genuine concern was shown towards her friend turned leader.
- (Ella Gracia)
- [12:44] Finley was notably not wearing the crown. It rested in his lap instead, both hands on the side of it. The High Lord once more seemed to agree with much of what Romani was saying, and then turned to Ella.
- "Romani will see to it that his home is restored for his people. It's been agreed that all faiths will be represented there; Fireblooded, Valeborne, and Celestialism alike. I don't intend to go back on that promise. Or any if I can help it."
- Even if they weren't his promises that he himself had made, Finley recognized much of the damage Asta had done to the Teraphim reputation, and more what he had done to further such a view by ordering the full destruction of Osrona.
- Finley looked down as he was asked if he was alright, his tired expression locked solely on the Crown itself.
- "..this wasn't the ending that was intended. All of the lives that were taken.." he squinted. "Alexander wasn't satisfied with the duel he was offered, Romani. His attempt on the Heart of Aschea itself was nothing less than proof that he hasn't learned. That even on the edge of oblivion, he believed himself capable of wiping out our way of life. I wish I hadn't given the orders I did, but I can't take them back. I can't bring back the dead."
- "But please. When they call us monsters. When they remind you of what we did to Osrona. Keep in mind that this war was fought by two sides. That it was perpetuated by two people who had grown to hate each other so much that it created such a bitter rivalry as to kill the tens of thousands we've seen killed."
- Finley looked down to his friend and said, "I don't want my people to continue to be seen as demons. In sincerity, I want to see to Asta's vision that the Teraphim are meant to protect humanity from underlying evils. I can't apologize for everything that has happened, nor should I wish for forgiveness. But what I do want is peace."
- "If you can help me establish that, we can at least find progress was bought with all of this terribleness."
- (Finley)
- [12:47] It was aspiring being able to see that the idea of Regulus was still being upheld. The act of it all was enough to make him smile.
- However, Ro still had the ideas of something from similar times. How an agreement was met with Basil and the others of Rhoynish to begin with.
- Even though the few indentured servants and those in jail were released, there was still the agreement of any and all artifacts being given towards the 'King of Alabaster'.
- "We have to meet with Basil, soon. The notion of relics and other artifacts of their culture is to be given, isn't it? Perhaps we can get any that were left in the remains of Osrona to show that we really want this moment of peace and breathing room?" he questioned as he looks directly at Finley.
- (Ro)
- [12:50] The slaughter of Osrona. She was a part of it as well, but besides her own guilt it was the reputation of the Teraphim that they all contributed to tarnishing... She sighed, her milky eyes shutting as if in thought...
- "History is written by the victors... But even this, we cannot write it away." She shook her head. "We made a mistake - but … I wouldn't take back what I did either." The slaughter of Basten - Cymbal and hundreds of innocent souls.
- Deep inside her, that last strand of humanity would ache out. The human part of Ella that still considered Osrona a home to herself...
- "I wanted to also bring up Ilburg…" She sniffed... "With Basten being out of the picture now, for good, I suggest it is given to Kofe and Basil. Not because of my relationship with Kofe - but because he is the leader of one of the major clans." She nodded her head...
- "I think Basil would agree to that too, we have no use for it... Give it to Alabastre." She threw the idea out there.
- (Ella Gracia)
- [12:52] There is a small displeasure that shows on his face, towards on topic or another, but ultimately he does not voice it.
- "The Church has been destroyed with a river currently cutting through half of it. Something rebuilt that represents all religions would be good for it to have, but first and foremost I would want to start work on the foundations and make it.. Something that does not fall apart again." A sigh does breathe past his lips.
- "I can not say that the amount of lives or the destruction is what I would have hoped for. I do not hope for anything other then peace. All the same, I do not see people who follow Alexander allowing things to come peacefully. He will attempt to strike back, or maybe take back the city. So a good idea would be to secure it first."
- "I do not approve of his attempt to strike the Heart of Aschea, if he was promised the duel and that was not part of it." He shook his head.
- "But as to monsters? It often depends on the writer. In time, it is not actions or words that are remembered. What is the feeling. Whether you leave Orsona in the state that it is currently in, or whether it rises again and anew."
- "If what you want is not to be seen as demons? To protect humanity, and to bring peace? Then let us do such. Let us bring an end to the violence and instead bring about a period of recovery and regrowth for Orsona. Allow those who do not follow Alexander to come back."
- "Allow people to cast off his leadership and grow now on their own." A small nod. "And I would say allow the same of Illburg, to cast off what Basten made it and give it to the people who live there instead."
- (Romani cos Montclaire)
- [13:00] Finley gave Ro a single nod. "I've sent letters out calling for a meeting of the Coalition. We'll discuss it all once we've come to speak on terms." He turned to Ella next, responding passed what she said of history and directly to Ilburg. "I'll allow the Rhoynur to sort that out themselves. Myllenoris has no say in how and what Ilburg chooses to become, so long as they pose no threat to us. With Basten gone, we don't need to pursue anything officially there. Though I'd support Kofe, of course."
- The High Lord listened next to all of Romani had to say. The wisdom of his friend was one he recognized and valued greatly, especially in this time, and while he knew that the destruction of Osrona would be spoken of for centuries, he accepted the logic behind the Stellus' words.
- "With Alexander alive, I'm certain we'll someday face the remnants of his loyalists. His pride couldn't be defeated, even if a thousand kingdoms burned for its sake.." If there was some humans to fault for all of this, it was those who would pursue the war for Alexander's legitimacy. And as far as Finley was concerned, Alexander had proven himself nothing less that a despot and a tyrant.
- "I'll urge the Coalition to see this through then. You may begin your reconstruction efforts immediately, only keep in mind they may very well wish for a say in all of it. In truth I'd prefer to wash my hands of this as best I can, and though the blood stains will remain upon my palms for eternity, I've no interest in leaving Osrona to ruin or coiling the noose around its neck to ensure what it becomes is part of Myllenoris."
- "My kingdom needs to repair. To heal. Our Vale was damaged and our fortune and forces spent in this war. It will be my intent to see to our own reconstruction rather than continued conquests for supremacy."
- (Finley)
- [13:02] Ro gives just a simple nod of this, approving of all the things that were said and then some. A single smile that raised from his lips was one of hope for the better.
- "I just hope that this last a good, long time. This war has only proven that we should grow in our own right," they muttered.
- (Ro)
- [13:05] "Yes... We need time to recover... Even if we have won the war... Massive, massive amounts of damage that will take years to heal still exist for us." Her eyes would finally open up, looking towards Romani...
- "As an Osrona born, I will help you in any way that I can in rebuilding the city. My magic might come in useful and..." She would sigh. "I know this is, kind of sudden. Yet, whoever takes Osrona next - be it you or another... May I make a request to re-instate Regulus' nobility."
- "We all know that he did everything to make the city right... He died, fighting for a brighter future for the kingdom. Not for its downfall... It's one of the smaller things we can do to honour him in death."
- Ella would let out a small sigh...
- "We fought well, but now it's time to rest. We need to rebuild... Yet not get lazy - it's going to be a hard time. Perhaps even harder than throwing yourself at someone in a war. We have to be smart. We are building the future - together."
- (Ella Gracia)
- [13:08] Romani nodded.
- "We will. I expect there to be something of a split. However, I also believe that more people will be drawn to him if there is no alternative. If people know they can return to Orsona, that they will not be hunted but can forgo following Alexander, I believe that those who follow him will lessen."
- "And while he may hold his pride, if there are less new people to follow him? He will have less and less of an army to follow his claim until there is no more." The once stellus said, letting out a small exhale.
- "I will begin reconstruction efforts right away then, but I believe that it would be best to make a big announcement after the meeting of the Coalition. Just tell me when that is. And of course, I do not mind the words of others in it. In fact, I would rather have them sign that document I handed to you so all are on the same page."
- "And.. I would also like to be finished with this war. Far too much blood and lives lost for my taste. I would rather enter the era of Democrasy, and see where the dreams of Regulus and Asta pointed."
- "I hope that your vale is also able to rebuild after all of this."
- His glance is made towards Ella, giving her a small nod. "It might come in useful. And we should have at least some Teraphim work closely with the Triumverate we wish to re-establish. I know that Myllenoris and Theria were supposed to submit someone to assist with rebuilding efforts."
- The talk of Regulus' nobility does bring pause. "I am uncertain who would be in charge of that. I know Kings state nobility, but I believe they are given to families who are alive, and also I am no king or ruler. We would have to see about that."
- "But yes, I agree, it is a time to rest and rebuild."
- (Romani cos Montclaire)
- [13:18] "The balance for this death and war is to see to Esshar's healing. To offer it a moment of peace and a moment to progress in other such endeavors that would see each sovereign nation rise to become something more. That will be my goal going forward."
- Finley turned to Ella and said, "I'd ask you, Ella, to accept a position as one of my Mistseers. Preferably I'd see to it that you take the mantle to guide the Blackcloaks, if you would. Though your efforts will certainly be approved should you wish to take them to Osrona while Romani is rebuilding. He will need our support. The loyalists will come for him just as much as us as soon as announcements are made."
- "Regulus' nobility is inconsequential." A statement that might have been surprising to come from one so close to the fallen Lord Chancellor, but one he believed. "He died a Teraphim. His noble blood to Osrona was nothing more than a name he shed under the Rite.If something can be done to place him among the history books of Esshar's heroes, then we might note it as the truth of his story."
- The High Lord gave a single nod to all three of those before him.
- "I still need to meet with my own Mistseers before the Coalition meeting."
- (Finley)
- [13:22] There is agreement within the movements of Romani, the idea of offering Esshar peace and a time to heal was great.
- "I do believe that now is the time for such." A small pause, and another nod. "I do believe that Ella, as an Orsonan born, would be a good person to assist in the rebuilding of Orsona, and also in perhaps assisting in the future. The Loyalists will come, but my ideal is to train people to fight them off when they do."
- A small nod. "Should things go well, I could put information about this war in the book of the Faith. Regulus' name would certainly be placed within it."
- A final pause before nodding. "In that case, should I go so that you may confer with them?"
- (Romani cos Montclaire)
- [13:24] "I would still like to help with being the understudy of you, Finley. Originally, I wanted to be your understudy in overseeing the rebuilding. However, this feels much more homey, and fitting," he says calmly.
- Yes, he was able to finally be able to grow further in the acts of politics. As much as he wanted to help with everything as a soldier, Ro had ambitions to reach something that was much greater than himself.
- Not only that, but it would assist with him being able to learn more about Finley as well, and help him as time goes on. Finley once said that they felt guilty, and as such it would only make sense that he was surrounded by people who shared that similarity.
- Blood was spilled by Ro's hands, innocent men and women to only let the children learn to grow. Astrid in general was on the receiving end, and she learned from the first place on what it is like to be a hero.
- A shrug of his shoulders, after. "So, if I can join that meeting, Finley, It would be an honor and a privilege."
- (Ro)
- [13:24] Ella would listen carefully to the words that Finley spoke. A position as mistseer, the idea of a human mistseer was thrown around a few years ago. Yet she was human no more, and she had accomplished quiet a lot in her time as Teraphim.
- "Of course I accept, Finley."
- A soft smile is offered to him. "I would do everything in my power to lead the blackcloaks and Myllenoris towards an even brighter tomorrow... However." She let out a small sigh.
- "Perhaps the position as High-Priestess should be given to someone else?" Her hand gestured towards Ro.
- "While young, this man holds a future. He is a Teraphim, he is knowledgeable… Perhaps I could train you to replace me as the High-Priest, if the High Lord approves." A gentle smile is offered to Ro.
- She didn't want to take on too many titles at once, so she'd need to pass one of them on to the other."
- (Ella Gracia)
- [13:25] Finley says, "Feel free to travel out, Romani. Though there are still some more personal matters I'd prefer to speak with you on soon.."
- [13:25] Ro says, "Kalina deserves that title; I have goals of one day being a Mistseer, and if I can gain the trust of my brothers and sisters..."
- [13:25] Ella Gracia says, "You can become a mistseer yet."
- [13:26] Romani cos Montclaire says, "I will be around. When we are both free to speak on them, we should."
- [13:26] Ella Gracia says, "If anything, prove yourself worthy as a High-Priest would only make you a better candidate."
- [13:26] Finley says, "Ro may be my personal retainer. And Kalina should be seen as the next High Priestess."
- [13:26] Finley says, "Mm. Good. Take care, Romani."
- [13:26] Romani nods to Ella, and Ro, before offering Finley a smile and departing.
