  1. Sky Ireland Limited is a subsidiary of News Corp-owned Sky Group and supplies television, internet and telephony services in Ireland. Its corporate headquarters are in Dublin which were opened by Taoiseach Enda Kenny on 18 January 2013. Sky's broadband services have no cap and are unlimited. Sky Ireland employs around 1,000 staff in Dublin.

  3. Sky launched its digital television services within Ireland in 1998. The company also provides opt-out feeds of key Sky television channels which include Sky Max, Sky News and Sky Atlantic.

  5. Sky subscribers in Ireland have a different choice of channels compared subscribers in the UK, Germany, Austria and Italy. The standard Irish channels RTÉ One, RTÉ One +1, RTÉ Two, RTÉjr, RTÉ News Now, TV3, TG4, 3e, be3, 3Xposé and 3Today are available to all Irish subscribers. These channels are encrypted, but are included with the Sky Original and Sky Variety packages. These channels are also available on One Vision and Saorsat.

  7. The BBC provide a number of their channels on the Irish version of Sky's EPG. BBC One Northern Ireland, BBC Two Northern Ireland, BBC Four, CBBC and Cbeebies along with their HD variants are available on the EPG. Other BBC channels including BBC News 24, BBC Parliament and the BBC regions can be tuned in manually to all Sky boxes. Channel 4 provides all of their channels except 4Seven and 4Music on Sky Ireland's EPG.

  12. Sky News Ireland is a programming block on Sky News broadcast in Ireland. It is a separate feed from the UK and international versions of Sky News. Sky News Ireland is broadcast from its studios in Dublin.

  14. The Irish version of the channel was lanuched on 24 May 2004. Previous to this Sky News was broadcast in the Republic of Ireland with specific opt-out advertising and sponsorship. The channel is available free-to-air on the Astra 28.2°E satellite. Sky News Ireland is the first Irish news service to be broadcast in widescreen, beating plans by RTÉ News and TV3 News.

  16. For most of the day the channel broadcasts the same programming as Sky News, with the only differences being only commercials and programme trailers aimed at the Republic of Ireland. Specialized Irish news content is broadcast for 30 minutes each night from 7pm and 10pm; presented from studios in Dublin.
